Down to a 36.2 now after chasing @Oshawa-Joe for a bit, Great Lap man! I can’t quite catch you, yet. ;)

That lap’s good for #6 in NA as of right now, yet it’s only good enough for #5 on my friends list.

That was fun watching our back and forth. Good job bud!

WOW! Fantastic race! Layout B certainly works for Sport Mode. 👍 Not kjust saying that because of my result. Offline, it doesan't feel like much of a circuit. Among real players, it comes alive. Really nice.

Edit: No qualy time. Stuck behind players riding brakes in the turns. Lost a spot when a Slophy kept braking before during and after the turns, instead of braking and then carrying the speed. 11th place in a Cayman was much better and I followed it bumper to bumper, from last lap to finish line.

Daily Race C has been my favorite combo in at least a month. I wasn't really into the other layout last week, although that may have been because of the car honestly. The current configuration with Gr.3 is so fun. I feel like I'm always having a close battle with someone. The track requires a lot of throttle control but for me there aren't any frustrating bits.

I will say though the pit exit is rather poorly designed, considering it comes out on the racing line at a point where cars coming down the straight are carrying more speed than at any other point on the track. I've had instances where two cars come out of the pit and immediately start fighting into Turn 1 while I'm carrying twice as much speed as them and I'm left with nowhere to go. This track would be a good opportunity for PD to actually implement pit lane entry and exit limit penalties.

Yeah, that pit exit is a bit dangerous.

Qualified for Race B(1:31.845). Started 8th. Got 3rd from 5th, after a battle with a 458, which saw us go either side of a recovering Slophy on pit straight. I took the inside line and into T2, gave too much room and the SLophy grabbed 3rd again. Held off the 458 for the remainder of the lap and my left rear tyre decided it wanted to trim the edge of the grass. Back to 5th at the line.

Tonight was my first time ever on Sardegna Layout B. Initially I wasn't too impressed about it when I saw on it on YouTube, but now that I've put down some laps, that's one heck of a fun track. I starting smiling at lap 3 after getting a feel for it, 25 laps later, I can't stop laughing cause it's so much fun. I need to put down some more time practicing before jumping into the races but this thing will definitely be one of my favorite in GTS. It flows really well and the elevations make it interesting. I hope the races will be as much fun though I can see T1 becoming a nightmare straight out of Monza :nervous:. Anyway, in those 25 laps, my optimal was 1.20.828 and my best time today was 1.20.887 with the RC Z. Seeing how the top 10 are in the mid to low 1.19s, I'd say that's not too shabby considering it was my first time ever on the track :D

Done for the week. Feels good not stressing over doing races every day.

Had an okay fight for the 3rd. 3rd place was spinning the tyres too much on a few corners. So, I was patient and made my pass where the player kept oversteering. Pulled away and at the last corner, I get rear ended into the barrier. Good thing we both had a gap to 5th. I get the "I'm sorry." at end, but thought that player may have tried for the penalty cheat. Just don't know... Anyway, missed opportunity to do a Trans-Am race, by including the Mach 1 and Challenger.

Only had time for one qualifying lap and set a terrible 1:33.082 for Race B, somehow qualified on pole with a full lobby of D/S drivers behind? (I'm A/S :dunce: ) As you'd expect it was an easy pole/fastest lap victory... I botched my clean race driving off onto the grass to avoid a ghosted out lapped(!) driver who crashed at Sheene.

Ran a few laps in the Viper, managed a 1:29.9xx and then had to run off for a league race. Might give it a shot in a race or two.

Turn 1 usually isn't too bad honestly. It's not a super tight hairpin and it is a bit wide so there's a decent amount of space. I've gotten murdered in the esses at the end of the sector multiple times however, the first lap is very close-quarters.

But yeah, it is very fun in Sport Mode with Gr.3. I know a lot of people want to see classic PD tracks but the new fictional tracks in this game are probably my favorite out of any.

I had a lot of fun running some b race qual. Brands is awesome.
I ran Jag Ferrari and 86.
The 86 smoked everything for me and I love driving that thing. It’s fun and the sound is good, cockpit view is sweet, runs good on weak abs...Love it.
I didn’t grind it out hard, but ran a pretty decent one in it and shared in game...
Seems like the cars are driving well there.
It’ll take me forever to learn Sardegna, takes me forever to get a handle on a track. Plus, I just never seem to find it on original tracks...I dunno...It seems like I just suck at learning tracks overall.
I hated Interlagos at first now it’s a favorite. Same with Suzuka and Brands and Panorama...

Going back to Race C for 3rd time. Did it twice earlier and got a 12th and a 4th, was bumped off track for 2nd twice by the eventual winner, also knocked off track for 3rd. Tried the Vette (12th) and the Ford GT (4th). both were solid for me. probably gonna pit as i don't like focusing on my fuel this much. Ran out of fuel with the ford on the last lap. Didnt save enough and had to pit with the vette. Going with the Supra this time, with the HKS drift livery from goodwood of course.

You were filler for the grid... probably a D/S short entering ... or no other A/S drivers entering the race so they stuffed you with the only SR/S group entering at that time in your region. My race last night was all DR/Ds except for the first 3 positions. As for "as you expected" .. not necessarily. You have to make it past T1 at the start first . If you get rammed by a dive bomber, or more likely, someone who just hasn't got their braking points right, it's easy to find yourself off, spun out or eating a wall. And once behind us, you soon find out how unpredictable we all are . Our braking points don't make any sense, our cornering is erratic and what part of the track we occupy at any moment you would have had to have studied chaos theory to figure out :p. Once behind a group of us, having been knocked off, you *must* get past and win if you don't want to loose any DR. Anything less than a win for a DR/A on a grid full of *us* will loose you points, and it's far easier for you to loose SR than it is for us . We are legion!

Race 1 for the Viper, started P3. Pretty uneventful which is nice, an SLS ended up winning.

IMG_20190708_210052.jpg

Edit: Race 2 started P5. Grabbed 4th after the first few corners and tried to settle in. P3 spun on the front stretch on the 2nd lap and just barely ghosted before I got there. Scared the crap out of me. Hung on for 3rd. Considering the competition I am up against now at 48k DR, not complaining. I'll take it.

IMG_20190708_212055.jpg

And made some changes to spice it up for the rest of the week. ;)

So my 32.8xx is looking quite good for DR/D at the moment then...

But as @Invisigoth says, you end up mid-pack with us and, well...

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

I see sunfungus still going strong.

Nice livery for the M4.

At Race C the NSX with shortshifting até FM 1 gets 14 laps :/
But through the sweepers beats the porches everyday.

Is the porches that good on fuel?

Fuvaros dos a no stop on my Race, but he's alien. He might have uses Fuel Maps and still be Hella fast

Strange. It seems at lower DR (I'm DR D) level nobody loves/uses the Viper but me? 34 races and I didn't see a single one. But at higher DR, you guys are using it a lot.
They're not. This man is an outlier. The Viper is widely considered to be ass-tier, especially before the latest update. By and large, the "meta" car used by the fastest times will trickle down to every level, so you can expect to mostly see the same cars.

I race whatever engine note I feel like hearing. Rarely use the crowd favourite cars. Can't say I've driven the Viper much. (DR B)

 Good work to you and your band of brothers who are clearly conquering the Americas in the Camaro. Must be growing up surrounded by muscle cars has given you guys some kind of innate advantage.

Using similar logic, being a Brit who grew up in the previous century, I figured a European hot hatch on a classic UK racetrack would give me some advantage too. Man, I was wrong. Thought I'd put in a near perfect lap at Brands, not even top 500. There are some fast people out there, but mostly I need to get good

Hiya boys, been reading this forum for like two months. Love reading your little updates and seeing reference videos and such. Keep it up community!

Sadly my first post will be a little negative toned. I just cannot complete whole races on Brands Hatch. It's either being punted, me binning it myself or people that just persist on passing me on the inside line while I'm already defensive on that line. Same stuff happened like 3(?) weeks ago when it was group 3 on Brands Hatch.

C'est la vie. Guess I'll try race C. :)
See you on track, enjoy!

Someone report that post. :nervous::nervous::nervous: I'm kidding, but on a serious note:

I am a Viper fanboy. They were the cars I used on the 2018 FIA races, and they were fantastic. Weak in the turns, obviously, but when it came to speed, the danger noodles Vipers turned into hunters.

After the Vipers got nerfed harder than Jeff Kaplan nerfed D. Va and Mercy to limbo*, they became a sad pair. This gif perfectly sums up how I feel after they got nerfed to irrelevance:

giphy.gif

And with the physics update that came in May, their understeer has become so bad, a charging rhino has less understeer than the bloody Vipers. If I want to make a turn, I have to go to a stupid turntable that those train yards have so it can rotate the car towards the direction I want to go. Sure, the Viper Gr. 3 got 1% more power. It's a start, but its weight needs to be reduced (along with the Gr. 4) so it can actually turn. I've talked to one of the top Dodge drivers from last year's FIA season, and he agrees that the Vipers are (now) simply too weak to be competitive.

I remember, when it was Goodwood with Gr. 4, I was able to get a pretty good time. I think that time would have been at most 1 second behind the top time in North America. But to get to that time, I had to thrash the Viper around. I had to really force the Viper Gr. 4 to turn. So now imagine it with tire life on... Yeah, those tires are not going to enjoy a single bit of the race. I did a race on there with the Viper, and to put it nicely, I unofficially became a representative for Morton Salt. #BuffTheVipers

I would LOVE to drive the Vipers again. I want them to be as competitive as they were before. But at the current state that they are in, I'll be using the Rhino Gr. 3 and Gr. 4. I'm A+/S, so if many people in A+ and other DR's are avoiding the Vipers, then we have a problem.

I normally don't like to rant about how the Vipers still need buffs, because the last time I said anything about it, I was on the verge on making my senior thesis on this thing and turning it into an academic journal. Okay, I kid about that part, too, but it's something I won't shut up about, so I'll shut up here. :D

Notes:
*At one point, D. Va and Mercy had overpowered abilities, so the Overwatch developers nerfed their abilities so they can be more exposed to their counters.

I spent half an hour typing up this post. What am I doing with my life lol.

A race later, I went with Shortshiffting at 1/4 - 1/3 of the rev limiter and got through the race pretty fine with 2% left of fuel on the NSX. It just won't overtake anyone on a straight. Corners though...

The 1st place that pitted was 8 secs ahead of me, and I finished 8 secs in front of him. so no pitting is the best strat imo.
Got second losing to Fuvaros again. He's just darn fast . Only held him a lap just because we're both clean.

Its a fantastic track to race close. But some people are still pretty green on lines and brake markers.

I was using it last night for Race C. I was the only one, but quite often I'm using the only model of whatever car I'm driving . Tonight's a different night, so a different car. Probably the 'vette.... anything but a Ford or a road roach.

I'm not seeing it. We down in DR/D drive whatever the 🤬 we want and the only time I see any trend is when DR/A+/A/B pollute our grid.
