Not to toot my own horn, but if you want a bit of a 'secret' technique to master qualifying top 10 at the Mountain, check this out.

Hope some of you can benefit from my hours of practice and dedication to TheRacecraft - happy to share my techniques rather than horde them, miserly.

Love the way you just drift straight through the chicane :lol:

Edit: Seriously though, the replays on this game are just amazing. I've started saving race replays then just watch them when I get a bit tired of racing or have a while to wait before next entry period.

I like the track, but I'm just not good on it... Could only get a 2.07.5 yesterday after a LOT of qualifying laps, which put me at 938 in the UK out of 4000. Nowhere near good enough.

Edit: or maybe it would have been good enough as only top top drivers were entering?

It's a tough track, possibly one of the toughest in the game - it took me a long time to get acquainted with it on GT6 - but I have to say I think it's one of the best tracks in the world, and I'm definitely going to make sure I pay it a visit at least once in my life :)

I really like Bathurst but I stay away from it when racing with strangers as it usually always ends with me in the wall because somebody tries to overtake on the top part of the track while I try to follow the car in front of me and thus have to brake earlier and adjust my line...
Playing it with friends is a blast 👍

Same thing basically applies to the Nordschleife only that I‘m far better at it and race it in the dailies if it comes up. I then mainly suffer from my own driving errors which are punished immediately :lol:

I like the track a lot, but its definitely one of the hardest. This is one of those tracks where tuning comes in handy which makes this an amazing track in the lobbies, but the stock suspension setup on some of the longer geared cars (BOP in Sport Mode) make the down hill section more of a close your eyes and pray section rather than a technically difficult but consistent section for me.

Maybe i just need to git gud though 💡

o my god. PD please improve the stability of the ****ing servers. And fix the penalty system so more Dr-S player re-join the daily races.

I played two race C Gr1 Interlagos. I am the only Dr-S player in both races. Qualify at 1:18:787 and start on pole. First race, at lap7 and 8s ahead of second place. Then I got disconnected and lost 2800 DR point! I won the 2nd race and gain 190 DR point.

It is not fun at all. In my current state, I am risking few thousands points (for only few ten or 100 points) every race and pray there is no dirty or aggressive drivers or not being disconnected.

The track itself is quite easy after a handful of laps... i.e staying on track, not hitting walls, knowing where you can accelerate and where the brake points are but I just know I'm losing time with balance through the downhill section before the Falken corner.

2:06-2:07 is about right for a decent driver, not everyone is an alien and gets 2:02-2:04.

Maybe... but EMEA top 10 yesterday were all 2.01 so I would like to get 2.04 or 2.05 to enter a race and be confident. Plus, as I said, I was 900 out of 4000 in UK which is not good enough....

High BS
Yesterday I did 20min quali and got 2:06.5xx
This was good for quali positions:
Race 1- P15
Race 2- P12
Race 3- P6
Race 4- P3

So yeah. 2:05 would have been much safer if I spent the time

I'm similar to you... high B, but got up to A last week... would have been slaughtered if I entered with a 2.07.5 :lol:

Where to find another second or two though? I was pushing hard but couldn't find any more...

I find that the speed I carry through the down hill is always slower than the top ten guys. And T1 is difficult for whatever reason to get a consistent ly fast release from for me. I know where I have to improve lol

Sliding (or drifting) around the fulken turn before the back straight gets you time, but it sucks trying to pull that off.

I would not recommend ever trying to drift around corners to gain time. It doesn't work. Biggest thing with Falken corner is making sure you get a good drive off to carry that speed all the way down the straight. And use ALL of the racetrack, wall to wall.

I find that staying tight to the inside in that corner and slow entry really helps me get in that gas early for a fast exit

Oh... I always try to avoid sliding or drifting!

Alright allow me to rephrase: easy to learn, difficult to master.

See above ;)

You won't gain any time drifting.

Control your speed through the esses after the dipper, especially the right-hander before Bentley/Forest/Falken elbow, as that's a deceleration point but most want to attack it.
If you've controlled your speed on the approach to the elbow, you can hug the wall on the inside and drive out all the way down conrod.

I wouldn't worry too much about leaderboard guys at Bathurst, many up there because they lucked into nailing the downhill section once out of a hundred times. FIA race last week guys who were quicker than me in practice (I think 1-2 were in the top 10) were almost 2 seconds a lap slower than me in race pace, and I wasn't even on the podium :lol:

@bone_tone
@mk1xr2

I see both of you on Daily A most days as well :)
Excellent - send me a friend request, it'll be good to know who I'm racing against!

I'm close to a/s 90% of the time made it once was the dirtiest racing yet was a few weeks ago tho. Hopefully back there soon but I think b/s is the right level for me. I' clean enough to race higher just no quite quick enough

I've edged closer to A rating in the last couple of weeks but, like you, I feel that B is my natural level.

I'm having adjustment problems with being promoted up in rank. Back to chop wood, carry water.

Guys?? How does the Alpine behaves??? Some added tweak needed?? Like a "special" brake balance settings?? :) For example...

live now usa region gr4 at Panorama

Brakes 2 to the front tc 0 got a got a 58.438 but that's what I use on most one make races seem to work for me, I think I could maybe get down to .3xx I will retry when I go back on later
@Mirror_man
I like the way it drives it will step out but it gives you plenty of warning

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the daily races have gotten a little longer, i.e. more laps?

Just had great race with US guys, really good sportmanship DR A/B at Gr4 Bathurst just now.

Fight started here ( t= 9624 )

So I’ve glitched my way to S/S? :guilty:

17K in a day without winning a race... amazing isn’t it :lol:

might as well see if you can maintain it
