So I just did Race A twice and finished 7th and 8th, respectively. I made gains on the grid, got a pair of clean race bonuses, and finished higher than my door projections. And yet, my DR has dropped for 2 races in a row. Went from 15,176 to 15,067. Not a huge drop, but it has me curious. What’s up with that?

From what I understand it's all about the DR rating of your competition in comparison to your DR rating. Positions gained or lost don't mean anything, it's purely your DR points and finishing position compared to everyone else. So if people with significantly lower DR beat you, you could lose a lot of points even if you are finishing better than your door number (not even mentioning the flaw in door numbering.)

A better indicator of gaining points is to be the highest placed finisher in your DR category and not lose to anyone in a lower DR category. Expect more points if you beat drivers in higher DR categories. This may not be that helpful, especially if everyone is in the same DR category, but finishing in the top half or beating your door number aren't good predictors of points gained or lost.

I have a question, an important one for me; anyone here using Driving Force GT? Could you make it competitive?

It climbed back up in my next few races.

Come on mate, I'm still rooting for your next win! I'm one of your followers in game, so don't keep us waiting!

So you were the guy that commented on one of my replay shares the other week?

I can't see why not. I was using dfgt back in GT5 and GT6 days on the most competitive level there was. Have a G29 now and honestly the biggest difference between those two is the brake pedal (which I couldn't get used to at all in the beginning) and I'm certain I could do same lap times on my old dfgt too once I had relearned its brake pedal.

EDIT: not sure if you knew already but DFGT won't work on PS4 automatically, but you need an adapter (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/182632-gran-turismo-sport/75874208)

Daily C gr1 was a ramfest in sr S. One race was so bad that 8 players got disqualified, like everyone between 11th and 19th.
That race I got rammed off from 3rd place 2 times, just enough to accumulate 15s penalty, which basically ended the race.
Rinse and repeat 3 races down the road, every time at least 2 dq and me getting ping-ponged around.

I have no idea how some end up with sr.S, but faster the cars the worse it gets...
Bathurst was great fun really enjoyed it. Mostly in the "tang". H pattern.

With the final race on Bathurst I finally made it back to SR 99. That took a while, all from one race where 2 cars decided to brake in front of me and another car to serve a penalty. No braking in front of cars!

Bathurst was great in general, few issues except still some people trying to push you out in T2 Senna style. I met some interesting players, one E/S in a room from A/A to D/S and one A/A leaving as A/E. That must have hurt.

Tomorrow:
A Alsace A110 3 laps
B Brand's hatch GR.3 5 laps
C Kyoto Yamagiwa GR.4 10 laps

That should be easy on SR.

No surprise also lobbies were empty yesterday.

They’ve been recycling these races for months now, what a joke.

They can’t even make good use of the few decent road cars they have, these guys should really close down or get acquired by the Forza team.

The Bathurst GR3 race C on Sunday was great. My races went from rage quit (completely my own fault for being an idiot) to near Godzilla domination in the end and had some great races with some great racers. Some of those races were hampered by completely unnecessary penalties though :(. I think for that race Corvette was the car to have but GT-R was holding its own as well. 👍

Today if I have time I'll break out the Lexus GR3 on Brands.

 Quote of the day.

Maybe I'll give Kyoto a try tonight if I manage to set a somewhat decent qualifying time :nervous:

Sorry I forgot mentioning GTS. I mean using DFGT on GTS with adaptor. I watched videos on Youtube where some players using it on GTS and they said it works perfectly (using adaptor) but the videos on offline races not online.
I have two options here: selling my DFGT to buy G29 or buying adaptor to use my DFGT on GTS. I dunno, still thinking about it because next month I am gonna give my best ever on sport mode. So far I still use DS4 playing GTS online. What a shame, right.:D

Might try this out tonight. I'm off the pace with Gr. 4 recently, but maybe I can salvage some pace at my favorite track :P

I'm using the Logitech DGT very successfully with the Drivehub device. I was in the top10 times in Europe in the last 3 days for the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Bathurst Races with Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars.
Force feedback is really good and comparable to GT6. Only the numb feeling when it comes to snap oversteer can be frustrating but that's a common issue of the game itself.
Thanks to Drivehub you just have to plug in all the cables and the wheel works like a PS4 wheel without any disadvantages.

Hey you're here too!
Really enjoyed the clean and fair Godzilla battles with you. 👍 (blabla_)

how can you be A/E without a downgrade of DR , i thought you couldnt be DR A unless u were at least SR B

Brakes 2 to the front tc 0 got a got a 58.438 but that's what I use on most one make races seem to work for me, I think I could maybe get down to .3xx I will retry when I go back on later
@Mirror_man
I like the way it drives it will step out but it gives you plenty of warning

It is a fun car once you have done a few practice laps, quite quick for a Race A one-make as well :). Shame it's Alsace tonight :(

Can someone explain to me WTF has just happened to my DR?

I did three races, mostly against DR B drivers on average, and did quite well but nothing special.

just...ignore the sr...yeah (long story short I got stuck behind a DR D who didn't get any penalties for constantly ramming me)

It's a glitch... if you drop your SR by two brackets (i.e from S to B) you are supposed to be penalised by dropping DR, however in certain cases it actually raises it. So, if you drop from SR/S to SR/B you will get a DR boost to 50000. Likewise, if you are DR/B and drop to SR/D you will get a boost to 20000.
If you can get your SR back up to S whilst getting reasonable finishing positions you will retain your DR/S.

It's all about finishing position, not positions gained or door number. Finish top half = gain DR, finish bottom half = lose DR. This is the simplest and most accurate 'rule of thumb'. There are a lot of variables which can affect this (DR of opponents, finishing position relative to DR etc) but this works most of the time.

how can you be A/E without a downgrade of DR , i thought you couldnt be DR A unless u were at least SR B

At the post-race screen is would show AE as DR changes are not displayed here, as SR are. After the guy left the race he would lose his DR rank.

haha well i managed a top 100 time in interlagos yesterday, so its a start
On thin ice though! Only 899 points to spare now :scared:

yeah thats cause I let my mate have a go at Bathurst and he tanked my SR and DR lol

"it's for a friend" riiiiiiiiiiiight:lol::lol::lol:

hahaha knew that would come up, but I'm being honest.

I personally dont play Bathurst, very little oppurtunities to overtake and most people fail to understand that hence why my DR and SR always gets tanked when i race there lol

If @banckzy keeps his DR for another 5 days (no cheating you gotta enter Sport mode ;) ) I swear I'm gonna
Hmm
(I was thinking of giving him premium for a month, but looking at the payment method I can't see a way to pay only for 1 month)
A congratulations from me I guess?

I'll take the congratulations.... challenge accepted.

Probably it won't be overly popular opinion, but I think for an online racing game, that is designed for pure amateurs, the circuit selection may better include the ones that allow more cars fit into the same corner, with wider tarmac and more runoff areas and so on, so like COTA or Bahrein etc, and not essentially old historic style narrow ones where real pros can fly but us humble mortals possibly never will... I do understand it is great to race the Nordschleife, Brands Hatch or Bathurst etc but all these require skills that are rare.
OK, some may say no pain no gain, but this is a _game_ after all, so noone will become a WEC GT champion based on playing these races.

Nice. I think I'll buy converter first, new wheel later. Thanks by the way.
