Daily B, Genesis GR.3
1) Started 6th (2:00.3xx). A British guy with a Ford GT chased me the whole race, flashing non stop and in the final turn of the final lap he pushed me wide - he was faster than me but come on I had the inside line... He passed me and another guy with inches before the finish line :( . 8th place :( .
2) Started again 6th. After the second turn I was already 3rd. The British guy returned with his flashing. The fight for 2nd an 3rd place has begun. Eveuntally there was some contact between the British guy (who overtake me this time without pushing me off) and the 2nd place driver so he managed to take his place. I finished 4th.

Was he flashing on the straights or just through the corners?

Reason I ask is that @Sven Jurgens pointed out in another thread that if you race with standard mapping on a DS4 you can end up flashing your lights by applying too much pressure on the L3 stick during full lock.

So I'd try not to pay too much attention, it may not have been a 'distraction' / dickish tactic...

Not to excuse the last-lap last-turn barge pass... That's dickishness 101.

In straight and corners too. At least one time he went off track because of it(?). It was distracting because I know he is faster then me - though he started right behind me in the races with a +0.1 lap time.

Man this Huracan is blast on the Sard C  I think that I can put it close to 52 flat.
Had under ten laps tonight, and here's the best 0:52.516. T1 and that last turn is sooo difficult to get right.
BoP on, BB 2 RH

Still wondering the racing here, it will be a wreck fest..

Ah fair enough. Just an A1 specimen then.

I generally only get out the way in 2 cases. 1 - someone coming back through the field who is clearly out of position. 2 - to let someone go on ahead and crash into someone else who isnt me

So fair play to you for keeping him behind. If he really is faster, he needs to prove it by sorting out his QT and starting in front of you!

Nurburgring really isn't very challenging in N100 cars. I've done a couple races, and there's really nothing to it, when the car is that slow. I think the participation level in next week's race C will be sky-high, due to the track's intimidation factor being nullified by the N100 class. The gap between good and bad drivers will be small.

I'm always in the way :D . My in race lap times always 2-3 second slower than the qualification time :( . He was slower in qualification but faster (and annoying) at overall speed in the races. Even if he got a 3 second penalty (1 race?) half a lap later he was behind me and I got the gentle hit.

The gap between good and bad drivers will be small.
Me: hold my beer... :D

Well the purple people eater was consistent this morning.
I made two journeys into the fire. In the first I was siting in sixth after starting seventh, riding the coattails of a very fast lead pack..
I just tried to push the banked exit and caught sand. Ended back where I started.
Race two I took the purple people eater to the podium in clean fashion, as usual capitalizing on the mistakes of people using sketchy cars with no tcs.
Mid high 57 in race on the vette with tcs is about what I am comfortable doing.
Maggiore is an excellent design. I think it’s the best PD track.
I’d like to race race race on it, but it’s quite the intense game and I thinkI will finish the week on a high note.
To all the other drivers who crashed out...

“Did you not like the jazz music? Was it not pleasant for you?”

Stay thirsty, my friends

@GOTMAXPOWER Nice running into you. Unfortunatly T1 never let me keep up on the top 3. On the first Race got punted to 18th and a 5 sec penalty, and on the second after a couple of turns got punted to 11th. Hope to Run into you more, mate.

Turn 1 is a mess in these races, it was nice to race against you even if it was just for a few metres each race. I think I used more of the boost off the start line, anything you can to get a tiny bit further ahead of the nutters in the midfield! Hopefully we meet on track again soon.

I don't have the 2016 Lexus. Tried the 2017 one. Felt heavy to me after the Lambo, but less of a risk at the final turn - i.e. felt more planted under braking. The gear ratios maybe not good for this track.

Only tested four laps before I was interrupted - 53.754.

I know I've only had a few laps in each car, but I much prefered the Jag or Aston for FR cars at this track.

Edit: another 7 or 8 laps in the 2017 Lexus. BB at +2. Still felt heavy and not instantly quick. Down to 53.527.

I think the 16 is lighter?? Not sure but I know what ya mean about Heavy.

Done for the week only got a few races in tbh. 15.4 I think on race A climbed back to b ranking with the clutch of pole, fastest and clean. Going to quit before the beer really kicks in

I'm getting very frustrated with Lake Maggiore. I keep doing lap after lap and simply can't get it down from 1.57.431, even though my optimals can get as low as 1.56.800.

I need to drop half a second in order to be able to start up front but I'm getting tired of trying.

Don't look at the whole lap as one event.

Break the lap down into sectors or even corners.

What i do to learn a track is look at a top 10 time in a similar car.
Write down the sector times and total time at sector gates.
Do my own laps and compare sector times.
Focus on one sector at a time until i'm am happy that i can do a quick and consistent time. Consistent being the key.

Things to look for when trying to figure out why you are slower;
Line used
Braking Point
Braking amount
Corner speed
When to accelerate during a corner
top speed on straights
how much corners can be cut

What's even the point of N100 on the Nurb? I guess it'll making passing much easier at least...

I need more practice otherwise. I'm rusty as hell. I haven't touched a proper driving sim since mid 2015 or something and while muscle memory is there I'm struggling to get faster laps. I think I'll have to get back down to basic and grind out proper technique.

It would be fun with my shifter.

I keep forgetting they took it out. I dont want to paddle shift a manual car. they sped up ds4/paddle shifting manuals which fixed the advantage didnt they? I had a blast in the BRZ at Autopolis and the AE86 at Nurb in pigems lobby using my shifter. It just doesnt feel the same using paddles. I lose the immersion that im driving a manual. Its still manual but its not ya know? Paddle shifting a 69 camaro or something when you have a perfectly good shifter just kills those races for me.

End rant lol. Also PD... this game needs the 2016 Viper ACR.

Daily-Race this week is very dreadful and destination crash, dive bomb, penalties, among others. I only race 4 times and all of them were loss of DR and SR with only one were my fault of tiny bump rear end. Avoid to continues to race by shifting to my workshop. Enjoyable!!!!

Made some adjustments with the Supra. BB +3. Loaded a top 10 ghost and chased it. New time is 1:58.534
Interesting to see that you're running +3. I'm on -3. I know where you're coming from with +3 though, probably trying to fix the understeer. That was the first thing I tried, but it didn't really work for me so I went for -3 because of the oversteer out of the slower corners. The Supra is weird. :P

Following on from yesterday's Sardegna C Group 3 testing. I took the top five cars from yesterday and put some more laps in.

Yesterday's top 5
1. Lambo Huracan (BB+2) - 52.747
2. Aston Martin (BB +2) - 53.068
3. Ford Mustang (BB +1) - 53.169
4. Toyota GR Supra (BB +1) - 53.237
5. Mazda Atenza (BB -1) - 53.256

Today I started testing in reverse order, so Mazda first.

Mazda - BB still at -1. This is how I have it at Interlagos. Improved to 53.094 after 23 laps, and this was the optimal. A sub 53 is possible in the right hands. Easy to be consistant in this car. Still in 5th place.

Toyota - BB at +1. 9 laps today - still feels a bit heavy, but there is no doubt its fast here too! End up with 52.979 . I stopped as soon as I broke 53s.

Mustang - moved BB to +2 as there is understeer going through the walls at the back of the track. Stopped after 10 laps with a 52.978. More to give, but I didn't note the optimal.

Aston Martin - BB still at +2. Just feels good around this track. Less understeer than Mustang round back of track. Best FR car I've tried this weekend. Easy to be consistant. Stopped after 8 laps with 52.916 . Optimal is 52.6xx, but I didn't chase it. Could be a safe and fast race car next week.

Lambo - BB still at +2. Fast, for sure. More difficult to be consistant, especially the final corner. Did 70(!) odd laps, but was getting frequent sub-53 laps torwards the end. I finally beat my time from yesterday with a 52.622, with a 52.4xx optimal. Again, I didn't chase it.

So top 5 is the same order as yesterday. I'll just use Lambo and Aston next week unless the OP car is something I didn't test.

(I never went back to the Corvette, so that might be a hidden gem).

Edit: I should add that all times set with TC at 0.

Last night managed to get my second race for the week. Went in with the NSX... that was a mistake. In the past it's been pretty manageable, but not last night. Couldn't beat my previous qualifying time and struggling a bit. Match fixing wasn't doing me any favours, possibly from the 5 SR lost from the disconnection on my last attempt. I stated P10/16 with a bunch of DR/A and Bs ahead of me.. I was P2 amongst the DR/Ds.

After lap 1 I was up in P8. I swapped positions a couple of times with another DR/D in a 4C, nice clean racing. Then I got a bit sideways round one corner, scrubbed a lot of speed, and he pulled a gap... I was passed by another to add insult to injury... he just kinda pushed his way past.. probably a DR/B....it's what they do . The NSX was a handful.... I think this shot pretty much sums up my race:

Yep...up in a cloud of tyre smoke.. Maggiore? More like Mt Akina .

Finished P10. I gained 6 SR, so back to 99, and because of the flood of DR/A and Bs, I actually gained about 150 DR. Despite all the sideways action, I still managed to finish with a clean race bonus .

I need to use mine more, I always forget to use it on Saturday nights, my heel/toeing needs some serious work though.

We also need the 90’s Viper SVS Styker! Nothing like having an 8.0L V10, and then slapping Twin Turbos on it, it had something like 996 Hp and 1150Lbs of Torque!! :D

Race A and Race C seem to be the opposite haha.
Even Race B is so sketchy but i am fan of fast cars driving in these kind of tracks.

N100 at Nurb sounds like great fun, but i'm feeling that it would have been best placed when the races were daily and we can have a go and then move on. Let's see eh :(

After my bad debut in Manufacturers' Cup (I went for Honda), I tried training in Daily Race B and still can't get out of bottom 3 hell.

Pretty much all of the above, really. Watching some of my best laps I was able to find the problem: I'm loosing a lot of time on the last sector. I can't get right that last S, before the last corner: lines, braking points, you name it, it seems I'm never confortable with the car, so either I'm too conservative, or way too fast.
