Race A: Gr. 4 @ Nürburgring GP

Race B: Gr. 3 @ Sardgena - Road Track - C

Race C: Suzuki Swift One-Make @ Nürburgring Nordschleife

Sounds like a fun week!

It's a choice of the FF Gr.4 cars ( TT, Scirocco, Megane and RCZ).

Hmm.. I like those choices. Megane, as we know is usually the META, TT has major understeer. Scirocco might be the best of both worlds.

That's fine by me. I've been using TCR cars in Forza and PC2 plus TT Cup in AC. Fiending for TCR in GT Sport!
Probably Scirocco is META this time. It has the best turn in. Though, the Peugeot and Megane have that straightline speed.

Speaking of TCR Cars, wouldn't the new Audi S3 TCR be a nice addition to Group 4?

Yeah Scirocco will be good, I was playing round with the TT yesterday and just seemed to have loads of understeer through the first section

Scirocco was great fun last summer when it was the one make race at Dragon Trails Gardens.

The last sector (especially the last two corners) in B. will be a haunted place. Lots of ghosts and killings :D .

My SR was utterly destroyed this past week in Race B, my God I could be back to an "E" by the time this race is over.

Well I've gotten so many Suzuki Swifts in the Daily Workouts I guess I can finally put one to use

I backed into a Suzuki Swift in 1994. True story.

I barely tapped it and the dent my Toyota Tercel left, you'd think I hit it at 50 MPH.

Appart from qualifying, Race B will be off limits for the sanity of SR. its a track where quick cars like these will hardly overtake. I don't expect people to take corners side by side here. But on slow cars its a fantastic track. N100-300 works wonders here

That final turn will be a disaster and the middle section, where it narrows and esses will also be very dangerous.

Only 67 people have set a time for Race C in NA so far, 67!

Best lap of them so far is a 9:04.XX, this is gonna be a fun week!! :)

This is the kind of week, where one good Qualifying lap, could set you up all week in a good starting spot.

Come on, get Swifty!
But honestly, I'm really not going bother with such a pathetic race. If PD wants me to come back, this isn't the way to do it.

I think PD used @sturk0167 generator to come up with this race.

That’s exactly what my second account is for, then you can go back and forth in the same week depending one where you want to start each race. :)

I've debated started a 2nd account, but the amount of offline work I'd have to do to restock my garage seems like a rather large undertaking.

First race at the Nord ruined by a car turning in on me. I give him all the room when I overtake 3rd, it's a slow process. Then he drafts back up of course to overtake me just to turn in on me at the apex, 2 sec penalty for me. He quit, I'm right behind first on the straight and lose over 6 seconds from that penalty.... I close the gap back to 2.7 sec, fastest lap, but ugh. Penalties ruining the races again.

Next attempt!

Same line up, started 3rd again. I get lots of pressure (read pushing, nose sticking and nudges) from behind including some door banging when a pass was attempted. Luckily no penalty this time, nor SR Down when I got turned in on again. First messed up so I ended up chasing second place, now in first. He got a bit of a lead from all the contact holding me up in the first section. However he went wide in the end of lap 1, got 0.5 sec penalty, I passed him when he went wide again and saw that he fell from 2 sec behind to 3.8 sec behind due to his 0.5 sec penalty. DO NOT get a penalty on race C, the penalty zone amplifies any penalties by 3x... Anyway easy 2nd lap (is 2 laps really needed) 9:11 fastest lap with the victory.

You certainly got max value out of that post!

Had a very clean fun race round the ring, but 2 laps is enough in the Suzuki....Swift? haha. They have a sense of irony at least. I really wish there were more Suzukis, they make some very fast cars that are legendary to the GT series. Imagine the Escudo round the ring!

This week I think my race is Sardegna in Group 3 cars again. It's short and sweet, great flow, great overtaking opportunities, reminds me of a beginner arcade racing game circuit with a bit of everything neatly packed in.

Man, I miss the Escudo... there was another one as well, its baby brother, what was it called?

Whilst Race B is my natural habitat of late, I think I'm going to flutter with A and C this week... He says... Until he gets home from work and follows type...

Edit: Got on the olde google-machine...

"The Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak Version is a rally car produced by Suzuki. As the name would suggest, this car is a Pikes Peak Hill Climb variant of the Suzuki Cultus (also known as Suzuki Swift in export markets)."

Now we start to see some genesis...

Good 3rd race, chasing a 9:02 qualifier. Unfortunately I got a 0.5 sec penalty for going 1 inch wide, he didn't get anything for going 2 car widths wide... Got to learn those invisible track limits! I finished 2nd while improving my lap time again. One more, although that 2nd lap is starting to get boring. Next race will probably put me back in A/S, thus worse penalty treatment as well.

So far it's the cleanest Monday yet, these cars don't have enough power to punt.

8:59 on pole now, Turismo-Lester is back!

Hmmm, used the TT and did qual and coffee before work. 06.2
I don’t think it’ll be good for a sprint.
Never driven Sardegna c.
Suzuki Swift? haha haha. I literally could put time in and still have no chance there.
I think I’ll work on my Fisherman’s Ranch campaign time.
I ran a good one yesterday but I’m still 20 seconds behind the world record!

Hey, Sea Bass. If you go to Nordschleife, watch out for this car. Check out the sweet hood decal.

Did 2 races this morning without qualifying, and had about 150- 200 collisions. One thing that hasn't changed is that the person with the highest DR is still always at fault. :banghead: I'm down about 1,250 DR and 14 SR. Might end up getting reset this week, because I'll probably only do this race, since the car selection at race A is :yuck:.

* @Sven Jurgens got a nice podium finish, as should be expected. 👍 Sven, good point about the penalty zone. You'd think a track that big could have 10 penalty zones.

Raced one at the Norschleife, was fun, wasn't doing it seriously and was amazed to see myself running third before the Carrousel at the first lap after starting from 12th.

But this being me off course I made sure to get some ludicrous amount of penalties for inching out of track later on the first lap, so I dropped to where I finished: an honest and amusing 9th.

I'm sure I'll do some more tries throughout the week just to relax a bit from the never ending battle with the chronometer in the more serious A and/or B events.

Nice to see that Poliphony Digital has sense of humor.

For all I care they should drop the manufactures nonsense and take the N100 cars around impratical ginormous and difficult race tracks into a new FIA series.

Nice car! I haven't bothered to dress up my Swift yet. It would be like putting lipstick on a pig. Perhaps a roadrunner decal would make it faster... Drawing a huge snail on the side would be appropriate. With flames!

So is Race C is running as a no stop? Any fuel savings needed to make it? How is it on tires?

You don't even need to brake for most of the track, never mind a pit stop. 2 laps is a sliver off the sports hard tires and another 6 or 7 laps of fuel left over. What you do need is a strong cup of coffee next to you for the straights  Do text and drive at your leisure in this one. Don't forget to make faces out the widow when you pass someone with 2kph speed difference.

I had a, say, battle with another guy on that huge straight at the end of the lap (yes, it has a name). We went side by side all the way and I was thinking: he'll mess up, he'll try to outbreak me, it won't work.

After these thoughts were over took another, I don't know, full minute to get to the breaking point? Something eternal like that?

And yeah, he messed up :gtpflag:.

I must admit, race B was better than expected. But I would only go there in my backup account, that race can potentially be a DR and SR killer.

Apart from that, looks like a boring week...

Hurraacan daily B q time vid lap thing.
Tryed also mclaren, but I had no grip in the front tyres with it...

Q-time 0:52.377 BB 2

Might be enough for top 5 starts in races. Might try tomorrow, if not so tired as today.

I'm sorry but Race C definitely was a mixup with Race B.

If there are fuel/tire depletion settings in Race C but they make no difference... Then I really do think Group 3 was meant to be at the Nurburgring, not Sardegna

I did the 2 races this morning with the TCS and BB both at +1, to preserve the front tires. I suppose I might as well just use 0 for both. Is that what you've been doing?

I wasn't really sure what to make of this weeks races but chasing a qualifying time for Race B is proving highly addictive. As it's so short "just one more lap" is too easy to say!

Managed a 52.707 so far in the Hurracan with an optimal of a 52.4. @Hasnain282 I saw did a 52.5 with the NSX but I can't get the speed out of that car. It's all about the last corner and getting a good exit. I'm still not 100% sure what my brake point is

Will probably stick with this and just practice for FIA.

so i got hit off by some POS quebec douche and then this happens..he should have ghosted but whatever. i didnt expect him to snap back across the track i thought he was stuck sliding into the left wall.

but then this...same guy same lap...

i revenge hit him on lap 8 but we were so far back already that it didnt matter. then he invites me to a party to tell me "you stole my line into the corner and broke hard"...eyes MF do you have them? somebody show me where he didn't just run into me like a complete tool. tried to blame me and act like he knows racing terms. "you stole my line". you were following me on my line and didnt brake ya ****in dildo.

Yep. Crap like this is what I’m afraid of. For those that say they don’t see Race B as a problem. There’s one example.

662 races and his SR is at the bottom of the Mariana trench...

I was dreading race B given the warnings about the last corner but my experience has been good so far. That will obviously change at somepoint but it isn't a predictable wreckfest. YMMV.

I did a 52.8 in Q using the Mclaren but the car is a fun sponge. I've run two races in the 911 and gained places in both but I suspect the late breaking on my behalf will end in tears eventually, will try again in the Huracan after tea and see what that can do in that. My next target is to get a < 52.5 Q time. Bring it on!

I made a cool but simple livery for the Swift making it up like the shuttle from the original Star Trek. Got a couple pole positions and three second place finishes in a row.

The fact that it takes about a half an hour to pull off a pass on evenly matched competitors means the sportsmanship of this your racing is important. I had some great side by side battles lasting multiple turns, which is something I never thought I’d say about the Nordschleife. Or I pull up alongside a guy on the uphill backstretch after getting a better exit from that tight corner (I gotta learn the names of all these) and its bash bash bash and I’m lucky to hold on.

The one ‘Ring to rule them all sure brings out the best and the worst in some people.

I only use TCS for the start with my old fingers, otherwise I get pushed off in T1. Right after the start TCS to zero, makes no difference. I haven't toyed with brake balance, don't use brakes much either
