Scored another Dub on the next race A as well. Started 2nd but snuck into first in T1 and never looked back. The guy in 2nd stayed around 1s behind the entire time but never got close enough to make a move. I’m calling it a night on that note. :)

This evening I raced on the Nordschleife twice. I used all line and braking aids. Lap 2 there were cones all over the track, but no matter.
I received a clean bonus in one race and managed to achieve a podium finish in another.
To be perfectly honest, on my end it was pretty intense...It was damn fun.
I missed that message...Ida jumped in it Randy, or do you prefer Mac?

What in the everloving tarnation?

Because it was the final lap, I couldn't get rid of it, and my SR tanked to B while that guy that smacked me got away with it.

I got so disgusted with Race B and being run off the track by....well, you know. That after I spun out, I decided to drive the track in reverse. I can only imagine what that looked like for the others.

And yes, after 15 secs, I was dq'd.

Never ceases to amaze me how, when my DR goes up , my SR goes down and vice versa.

I think it's time to start another account and start fresh.

Big Willow Gr4 is a alfa romeo 4c one make as always

AWD will dominate turns 3 & 5.

I'm already on it. Testing the limits of the Huracan at Big Willow. 👍

Initial thoughts:

Race A - Gr.X at Tsukuba with Sport Soft tires for 5 laps - not a fast car. At first, I thought maybe the kart, but it can only be used with racing slicks. It will have to be one of the next low-powered cars in the Gr.X class. It definitely will be the Gordini or the BMW i3. Gordini is most likely. 👍

wait...! the KART! you're right. it shouln't be a fast cat and it's Tsukuba! Everytime the kart appears it's equipped with Sports Soft.

So I think You've had it on spot!! Oh...yes racing karts in Tsukuba would be very exciting!

I've been pondering this idea for awhile. I started racing online too early..quit a lot...

Start fresh and resist urge to quit

Directions in this thread?

Ahhhh. Come play Big Willow with me!

Bring an AWD.

I'll be spamming that with the Get-Out-Of-Jail-FreEvo. I won't be quick, but I'll be more than fine going 'a bit wide'!

Tsukuba... Nope
Gr.1... Nope
To me racing at willow springs always feels like running on a rope... blindfolded...while being pursued by a cyborg owlbear...with a M134 Minigun/laser katana :D . In any car :D .

Owlbear.... Ah, Neverwinter is pretty good...

Just be thankful they don't have the technologically superior M134 Minigun/laser European longsword combo.

You just activated my "that guy" card!

Since the superiority of Western swords is almost entirely due to superior quality of iron ore, surely by the point that blades are being made of laser, that superiority is negligible, and the argument becomes one of cutting blade versus thrusting blade, and there are advantages to both sides :)

Scottish Basket-hilt schiavona is my choice, though! I don't wanna lose a finger whether its steel or lasers...

It's not quite that simple. Various European swords are just as good at cutting as Katanas, while being far superior in the thrust because they're not curved, and have a point better suited to it.

There's also the length aspect. Katanas are very short for a two handed weapon. Heavy too (for their size) because they're chunky little things.

I should stop here . . The last thing this thread needs is me going full sword geek

But should we stop, or should we start posting statistics about iron ore quality, and how Japanese smithing technique was forced down the route it followed, and how despite the beauties and intricacies of the folding technique of forging, it really is better to crudely temper a wedge of European Steel?

Or shall we talk about the differences a blade needs for the different tasks of fighting against mailed and plated knights, and basically running through cloth-backed farmers on horseback?

No, you're right, we should stop. All the edgy stuff i googled when I was 14 can stay out of this thread, i guess... ;)

Hmm... I'm calling bull:censored: in that one. The purity of materials effects the quality of the laser. Not all lasers are equal. *shrug* As a sabreur, it don't mean a thing, if it ain't got no swing ;). Personally, I say frag that dreck. Jack yourself into twin hard mounted Vindicator miniguns on the Viper and watch the metal fly! 👍.

I'm looking forward to Big Willow... it's a good track to let the Veyron stretch it's legs.

We can, if you like.

We can even talk about how swords were very rarely used against knights in plate armour (both European, and Japanese) as thats what blunt impact weapons were invented for. I mean, yeah, if all else fails you'll grab your sword and hope for the best.

The sword making techniques in Japan baffle me, though. It's incredibly conservative. Not early on. That's fair enough. Its a way of making high quality blades, from low quality raw materials. More, once they had trade links with Europe. Why continue to make swords the way they had, when using a European monosteel would have resulted in an objectively better blade?

Kind of like in India/Pakistan/etc.

"Hey, these Euro guys make good steel. Let's make stuff out of that . . They mass produce high quality sword blades too? Even better. We'll use those. This Damascus stuff is expensive."

Edit: Falcata is a brilliant name for a supercar.

As a fan of Japan and samurai (Legend of the Five Rings ftw! :) ), to me the samurai weapons (especially the katana and the wakizashi) are the most perfect things. Beautiful and/but deadly.
Sidenote, if (when) I ever start a supercar company, they'll all take their names from medieval weaponry... Keep your eyes peeled for my V12 Falcata :)
V10 Katana.... oh wait! That car already exists :) . It's called the LFA :D .

Katana suits a bike more to me, for some reason, though a lightweight, rwd, high revving 4banger in the s2000 mould might suit it... I should be trademarking these as I go :p

@Bivittavus88 understanding the Japanese reluctance to embrace Western technology is like a really, really, really complicated barrel of fish. I can't claim to understand it, but researching Tokugawa Ieyasu, Nobunaga Oda and the events of their lifetimes is a good starting point for the isolationist era.
