Katana suits a bike more to me, for some reason, though a lightweight, rwd, high revving 4banger in the s2000 mould might suit it... I should be trademarking these as I go :p

@Bivittavus88 understanding the Japanese reluctance to embrace Western technology is like a really, really, really complicated barrel of fish. I can't claim to understand it, but researching Tokugawa Ieyasu, Nobunaga Oda and the events of their lifetimes is a good starting point for the isolationist era.

Well, work's going to be quiet. So, I'll be doing some reading.
 
I’ve had some amazing races at the nurb, I love this convo, @Sven Jurgens has been a regular on some my lobbies and it’s been a pleasure racing with you. Farmed my DR to a+ before Wednesday and then lost 3 k due to disconnects in FÍA, got back in there and won my first race after starting 4th, honestly unless you’re a potato if you can qualify around the top 5 and stay clean and consistent you’ll get a podium, my qualifying time is only a 9:07 but I’ve hit 9:04 in a race.

we have a little fight here against golfer at Mont-Tremblant they want to close Circuit Mont-Tremblant because of noise but the track was made in the 50s way before those golfers start building houses around golf course close to it . I live at 15 min from the circuit :/

Speaking about fictional car ideas in what is supposed to be a discussion thread about Daily Races, what about something along the likes of Wangan L6, Beowulf 550GT, Sanae S20Ti, or Punterino W20X?

we have a little fight here against golfer at Mont-Tremblant they want to close Circuit Mont-Tremblant because of noise but the track was made in the 50s way before those golfers start building houses around golf course close to it . I live at 15 min from the circuit :/

Well, I also live pretty close to this track and I really hope they don't shut it down. Not enough of those around !

They had the same kind of problem in Terrebonne where they closed a small airport because of complaints about the noise even though they started building around way after the airport was there :banghead:

It's all the rage here in blighty. We've had a load of new housing developments added on to old sleepy villages and the new residents complained about the traditional church bellringing that had occured since time immemoriam and got it banned.

To be fair, I've been to Bishop's Waltham, and the church bells are horrible. They genuinely ruin the entire village. I imagine it would be nicer if they were in any way tuneful, or being operated by people under 95 with any sense of rhythm.

I wanted to do a couple races in the morning, now I'm considering uninstalling GTS.... (I won't, @Mistah_MCA still has good races coming up :)) Matchmaking thought it funny to match me on pole with a D/B driver in second (I'm DR.A with max SR) so this happened.

No penalty for him, almost 5 sec behind after getting back up to speed.

I catch up in lap 2, so he brake checks me...

I touch the wall (cause you have to trigger penalties yourself, game won't do it) but it doesn't matter. The 'swift' can't get back up to speed on the hill and by the end I'm over 10 sec behind, enough to absorb the 4 sec penalty. He wins, gets upgraded to SR.C....

I really don't feel like playing anymore. I started another race anyway, better line up, all SR.S, race starts, disconnected :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: My internet is perfectly fine (my kids playing another online game next to me no issues). PD you suck. 1.5 years later, still random disconnects and a penalty system that's a complete joke.
 
Had a great race yesterday in the B event. Started from pole, but I messed up my gears earlier on, something that helped the guy starting from behind (in a Supra, no less. The Sardegna straight had me appreciate how underpowered the 911 is on top speed) to pretty much tag along for the whole first lap. We were both clean, but ruthless and it was 55 seconds of pure racing and tension.

Then we opened the second lap and I made my decision of closing the inside line for the first corner. He, off course, jumped on the outside, helped by de draft. I jumped at the brakes a bit earlier to be able to close the turn tightly and avoid a crash. He was commited to the outside, got a bit in front off me on the braking, but respected my line and eventually backed off because I had the position and he couldn't take the advantage on the exit.

Since he probably braked late and had to respect my space, he had his cornering ruined, which in turn gave me some half a second of a gap for the rest of the lap. Without my draft, he never had really any other chance at me on the race, but kept a close pace and in the end I won by something close to two seconds: when you leave me alone, the chances off me screwing it up drops massively =).

This, gentlemen, is why I do it. A trully amazing racing experience out off a ton of wreckfest carnages tottally redeems sport mode for me.

To me racing at willow springs always feels like running on a rope... blindfolded...while being pursued by a cyborg owlbear...with a M134 Minigun/laser katana :D . In any car :D .

At least you'll be able to choose a car for this time around Willow Springs. There was once a daily (was one of the first weeks when it became weekly) when it was with a crappy BWM M4, you were literally ice skating. @sturk0167 has nightmares about it to this day :lol:

There is a town about 100 miles south of where I live where they want to tear down a local race track (it's a very short Oval) to build condos and the town is actually fighting the owners of the track on it. Very strange situation.

The penalty system, i swear was changed again a few weeks ago and it feels COMPLETELY random. I have been punted many times in race b and nothing for the offender, absolutely nothing. it is crazy.

Big Willow Gr4 is a alfa romeo 4c one make as always

i have never see a 4wd dominate at big Willow 4c 86 and Cayman in this order are the 3 first on the list

Not so sure about that. I will do some testing to be sure, but yesterday in the lobby I sliced and diced everybody at Big Willow with my Huracan. I don't know what the skill level of the the other guys was, but it really wasn't competitive. I don't think there was a 4C there, but there was a Megane Trophy and it was pretty slow. Front-wheel drives were also pretty useless.

I don't know if this race has happened before. As far back as the history goes on KP, there's no Gr.4 Willow races. I'll try out some other cars. 👍

The last 3 Willow races I can find are N300, N400 & N400.
That BMW race was the only one I've ever done where I was faster with ASM. :lol:

I’m thinking straight line speed will be the biggest asset at Willow. :)

Fair point. I didn't account for lack of musicallity as a contributing factor.

another ****** turn 1 divebomb takes out 2 cars and doesn't get a penalty. how sad is it that i cant even get through turn 1 in all but 1 out of my 15 race b's this week.

Well, I've been there. What I'm trying to do, and it doesn't always work, is to brake a bit earlier and harder, so if someone bump me, the damage tends to be smaller: you can avoid been put into the sand. Plus, if nobody crashes into you, you can take the turn more tightly, which helps in defending your position for the next sector.
 
appreciate the advice but it doesnt matter. racing in this game is a complete joke. Done with Sport Mode. completely pointless waste of my time. nothing learned, nothing gained just bull ****.

did one more race after my last post and this is what sealed the deal. get through lap 1 but it doesnt matter.



No penalty RIP

this represents most of my experience in sport and that pass for the win video the other day is the 1% and its just not worth dealing with this trash for the 1% that is really enjoyable.
