Kids, don't try this at home. 3 wide though the final turn at Big Willow! :scared: Unbelievably, we all made it, because I backed off. It ended up working out for me because a couple of turns later, the 86 knocked the Scirocco off the track, getting himself a 5 second penalty. I cruised to a 2nd place finish. 👍

And in the next video clip you'll see my new all-time favorite penalty. Ha ha. All I could do was laugh.

car goes sideways across the track? nope no need for ghosting yet!

That went ok. I made more than a few small mistakes and end3d up falling to 3rd while our man @sturk0167 took the win. Great race buddy, wish i coulda challenged you but i am just trying to keep it together out there. Was a pleasure just to see you out there even:cheers::gtpflag:

Edit... the penalty was sorta legit, i messed up and cut the turn at the bottom of the hill a bit to much. Still felt like i didn't need the penalty though, i was off the gass and was just trying to keep it pointed in the right direction lol

Going in for one more before work... hope to see you again sir

That was fun. I was hoping we'd be side by side at the finish line. I was just glad to finally have a friend in the race, who I knew wouldn't hit me.

Figured out what was wrong with me. Kidney stone, fourth one I've passed.

I don't recommend them.

I'm gonna be taking it real easy for the next couple of days, shame to miss out on more karting but I definitely don't need any stress.

As for next week; I'm not sure I'm any good at Yamagiwa, so I'll probably be in race C. Not the best lineup of races, to be honest.

I keep working on my times but can't keep up to everyone else. I'm always outside the top 1000 since the top ten ghosts were introduced. Was a bit more more competitive before that.

I guess I have to face that I'm relatively slower now and except the lower DR rank. Which I'm totally OK with. Just was trying real hard not to fall. But that just makes me sit out. And I can't improve that way.

I used to feel that even though I wasn't the fastest. I was consistent. But lately I don't feel consistent either. Because I'm pushing to be faster.

So in summary, can everyone else please slow down. :sly:

You’re doing the right thing, keep at it man! 👍 Speed seems to come in Stages, you’ll gain some speed and that will affect your consistency, then you’ll find a way be consistent with the new speed and that will make you feel slower again, then the cycle starts over again. If you ever want to jump into a practice lobby to work on anything just let me know man, I’d be happy to help out in any way I can. :)

If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it, it’s even cheap($12 CDN on Apple Books), I don’t read books, EVER, and I thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot from this one.

Sorry fellas, I completely forgot to snap a few pics of the Buick today, I did manage to get a quick one while the door was closing though, it figures that’s when I’d remember.

🤬🤬🤬

@MaxAttack damn, that sucks man. Hope you feel better quick

@sturk0167 that's more like what i was hoping for, untill i completly threw my race in the trash lol great racing friend, see you on the track again soon i hope.

@MaxAttack hope you feel better soon. I heard that they are extremely painful.

Thanks guys, with any luck this should be the last one to pass. It really is very painful, a different kind of pain that really messes with you. I couldn't sit down or stand still in the waiting room and so a nurse saw me within minutes, which is nice.

It's not my first time at this rodeo, and I can honestly say that after the first one, my pain threshold is absolutely insane and the subsequent ones haven't rocked me so much - i just get into town as quick as possible and stumble to the A+E desk and do zen breathing until i get pain relief. The NHS staff are amazing (despite what you may have heard, I won't hear a bad word against them) and they know me by now so I can avoid being stuck in a bed unnecessarily and getting tests i dont need.

I don't want to get too sappy on you guys, but I am grateful for your thoughts. I don't have a huge social circle right now and the fact that you guys all over the world, who i only interact with about racing, wanna show me concern and make sure I'm OK. That's big.

Anyways I am just chilling now, restoring my strength and I'll be back on track before long - hopefully I can make tomorrow's lobby, but we'll see how I am for energy.

Much love, guys :)

Plus 1 for NHS staff. Calling them heroes wouldn't be an understatement.

Sounds like you're doing well and hope you are back racing soon 👍

Is there a decent helmet/suit livery going about that will make me look like Princess Peach from Mario Kart? I won't touch Race A without one.
Contrary to this decision, I've had a few goes at Race A this week and done quite well out of it. The karts are grippier than I remember, and although the race is too short and I've not yet been into the 55's consistently I've had some good fun. I've raced as Mario instead, since I found a good helmet for it. Found a good Luigi one too, but who wants that?

Anyway, I decided I wanted to be Peach. I made a helmet, a suit and entered the 8PM race there with 30 seconds to spare. I won. Now let us never speak of the Peach Helmet again:

Oh man that sounds nasty. Get better soon!

So I threw the 86 around BW a few more times tonight. These were lightly easier lobbies and starting 5th/6th on grid. I managed a couple of podiums and a 4th place and for the first time in my GTS career I now have 40k+ DR. 41,358 to be exact. Not a bad haul but not quite the A+ I (overconfidently) aimed for before the week begun.

I'm not sure i want to do any more sports mode races this week, i'm a little tired of the car/track combo... but i'm yet to get a win. Just 1 win would cap off a good week. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe

Well i am done racing. Not sure what the hell is wrong with me this morning, but i just had three amazing races with top end guys and should have taken a 2nd or 3rd in each of them. Instead i completly mess up last lap either drift the top of the hill or mess up the last turn and end up in the dirt.

It's time to stop, i don't mind the loses necessarily, but i am just getting pissed at myself for stupid mistakes and starting to hate a track i have always enjoyed. See if i can do anybetter by myself out there to improve my qt. Then back to the nord and the 930 for a few laps before work....

I hear you on this. Last night after working a double I decided to do some races at Big Willow to wind down. I should have known during warmup that I was too tired as I was a little off pace. But I raced anyway. After 2 races where I put a tire in the dirt and clipped a curb to go desert exploring I called it a night. Probably lost any DR gain from my good races the night before.

Is anyone else reminded of Stevie Wonder when watching yourself shifting around in the kart? :D

Every time I think of maybe trying daily races again, I watch your hilarious, penalty/not penalty videos and then decide not to enter them! :D I'm surprised PD hasn't contacted this forum to have your posts removed, as you are bad for business! :D

Thanks for the laughs..

That stuff hurts, good it wasn't worse.. even though that was enough of course :-/
