Somehow the normal Monday Maniacs aren't out there tonight, I had incident free races at Suzuka AND Interlagos other than a Group 3 Peugeot driver binning themself on the exit of Juncao on the first lap causing me to bump them.

Maybe it's related to finally getting my SR back over 90. đź’ˇ

Anyone got any advice on driving the NSX GR.3? That car just feels undriveable....

Brake bias all the way to the rear. If it's still a little too slippery trying feathering the throttle for a split second before entering the corner to redistribute the weight. On large braking zones after a long straight let off the throttle just outside the zone and brake a little late. The car should feel much more settled. It's not the easiest car in the world drive, but by learning to drive it you'll sharpen your defense skills.

I couldn't get that WRX to turn correctly. My best lap so far is in the NSX.

I'm a firm believer in using driver aids if they help you and the prima donas who say they should be banned from sport mode can go 🤬 themselves. Having said that, I don't know about now after updates and all, but the GR4 rexy understeer was greatly reduced with TCS on 0. Most of the AWD GR4s seemed a lot easier to drive with TCS off.

Isn’t that the opposite of what you wanna do with a MR car? It just has horrendous snap oversteer.

The only MR, Gr. 3 car (that I know of) that actually benefits from setting the BB to the rear is the 911 RSR. I can't remember where I put the BB on the NSX, but I can imagine that putting it to the back is kinda like poking the bear.

How do you apply the brakes?
I used to be 100% on or off and it caused a lot of snap oversteer in most MR's.
Smoothing out my brake application and release to a more progressive style helped, along with trail braking / a bit of throttle while braking to get the cars weight settled.

Had 1 go at C tonight, with @GOTMAXPOWER running in the race with me,

Decided to try the Porsche for the first time ever! :D

Started 14th after improving my qualy time to a 1:32.1, but so competitive hence the lowish starting place. Battling in 12th on lap 4, then got buggered from behind and dropped down to 18th. Decided to non stop, and gradually made my way up to 9th as others struggled on worn rubber, or had penalties for running wide out of turn 4, the tight left after the long back straight, harsh that, as you ultimately lose time there, so penalties are unfair for running wide.

I'll be looking to improve tomorrow, and getting a podium at least! ;)
I was trying the NSX that race, it's good on tyres and fuel but needs a little more squirt on the straights. We had a pretty close race towards the end. I was 0.1s ahead at the line before penalties (I had half a second but knew it would round up so deliberately cut the final one).

I'll get the Lambo back out tonight.

First race B of the week. After setting a Qt of 2:12:4xx (so far ahead of @JoeyLeonine ) I decided to try my luck.
Started p7, finished p3. Accidentally bumped a GB driver in Spoon, he was duking it out with a guy in a Mégane and they came across the track.
But still CRB.

Edit: not p13, p3. A podium finish is good enough for me

The Gr.3 NSX is an odd one. Make sure you're ridiculously smooth on the brakes, and corner entry. Don't slam down the gears. Make the downshifts slow, and deliberate.

BB 2 to the rear seems to help me. But again, very smooth on corner entry/braking is key.

I like the NSX :) . Most of the time I use "on/off" brake and with BB -1 or +0 I have no problems with it. Sure, it could be tricky at the curbs but I like it. Very nimble... and looks awesome :D .

It's going to be interesting to see how next week's races go if they use the "new track". What a let down. I drove both RBRs. It's mostly visual... standing water puddles with a few drops of falling rain at certain places. The grip level isn't the crazy aquaplaning we've come to expect from the wet road challenges. My guess is Red Bull mini track as a one make for Race A. So much for Spa... or any of the long promised classic tracks from previous versions .

My tip is the RBR / S2000 duo.

Before doing my 5th race to graduate to DR/D on my 2nd account, I decided to return to Interlagos on my main, this time in the AMG. I put in one of my smoothest ever drives to take a lights-to-flag victory with a fastest lap of 1:32.189. My total time was 18:45.779 which is about 4-6 seconds off compared to what I saw from some aliens yesterday. @FUNanywhere was also there, nice to see you :)

One thing on the AMG: Its fuel usage is amazing, but tire wear seemed worse than the Pug at the end of the race. :odd:
DR up to 62750 which means I've crossed the halfway point of the A+ progress bar :gtpflag:

After my first race B

Partially so I can take advantage of the time difference for cleaner racing, if I'm working shifts that don't allow it in EMEA servers.

Partially to get on track with some of the Americans/Canadians here.

I did think of setting up a US account. But, Johnson is in charge here. So, I'm governed by a crazy haired lunatic. I couldn't bring myself to pretend to be governed by another one.

Quebec City.

Close enough to the UK that my connection speed is still decent.

"...Great Supine Protoplasmic Invertebrate JELLIES!"

Dude, Boris is great!
I love that guy...

Regarding Race C, I'm still struggling to find the best car over 1-lap (1:31.0 with the AMG, but I have a feeling other cars may be quicker). Any suggestions?

In the race, it's an easy no-stopper with the AMG on medium tyres, revving at c. 6500-6750 RPM on FM1. Tyres do tend to fall off the cliff at around lap 11 for me (I'm on a pad), but with better management (BB @ +1, perhaps should try increasing it), I reckon they can easily make it without hitting that proverbial cliff.

DO IT!
it took me about 10 races to get to B/A on my GT-FRED-WEST account, not sure if they're familiar with that name across the pond :lol:

Ten steps ahead of you. Well, 5. But you know what I mean.

Top marks for the name :lol:

2:09.476 at Suzuka. Good enough for 349th on the EU leaderboard right now but was a scruffy lap with missed apexs and I lost 2.45 tenths over my best in sector 1.

Will push later as i'm busy today with home maintenance. And on a side note i'm pleased that i'm constantly getting faster at the game. Using DS4 can be a bit fiddly sometimes and i'm amazed how good a job PD have done with optimising the pad in game.

I set my time with the Audi TT. I've tried the meta RCF but I find driving it quite tricky on the pad. This is with experimenting with all different brake balances also.

So i'm unsure of how to get the best out of that one

I have the BB in the NSX at -1 around Interlagos this week. It is mostly about trying to keep it smooth with this car it does take some getting used to (though saying that I do tend to slide it into the corners under braking just to get it turned in  )

You did 1:12 in Gr. 4 at Suzuka? Holy s..t man, you must be the fastest guy around that track ever.

Race C for me this week and yeah I prefer to stop. Tried no stopping and it was just joyless (I use AT), last few laps were 37's and 38's....no thanks. Doesn't seem to make much difference as in all 3 races i was paired is SR-S and DR-B players, started 10th or 11th in all 3 and finished 8th or 9th in all 3. So if not a lot of difference i will just stop so i can race instead of crawling around.

I can squeeze a few more 10ths out of the merc but the Aston in the race is epic, it just EATS other cars on the main straight, absolutely eats them.

When my SR hits 99 the racing gets weird, I am usually plonked dead mid pack and cannot seem to gain or lose a lot of spots. i suspect because there is way less carnage and folks are less likely to make mistakes on their own too.

He rides a whirlwind, that cuts to the bone. Wasted forever and ferociously stoned...and the Karnival of Kaos kontinues at larger, I mean Interlargos.. *hic*. The slidey bendy grassy wasteland once again claims it's victims. First daily in over a week... my finger held up ok yesterday for the Goodwood 1h, so I figured I'd give Race C a go. Went in with the Aston, and after doing enough laps to be able to stay on the track, I had a spectacular time that had me starting .....P14/18... the last of the qualifiers . One again race fixing has me on a grid with DR/Bs and Cs. There was one guy I'd raced with before a few times, he was DR/D the last time I saw him... He's now B. Said "good luck" pre-race, and about a half the grid greeted him saying it was good to see him again . Popular guy .

Race starts in usual fashion, T1 was a battle ground fighting for real estate through the chicane. I managed to get through with no penalties. I was cruising along, short shifting (but not too short) and picking tall gears, which I think helped with tyre wear too. Think it was about lap 3 that I got a 0.5s penalty for taking just a tiny bit too much out of a corner.. suppose that's better than a puncture from a hidden rock 👍.

Around lap 5 people started to pit, and that continued for a few more laps. i had a few tussles and got knocked off a couple of times but generally things were ok. I was a bit more defensive, I wasn't going to let anyone bully me off my line. Still had people try passing on the inside... off the track.. hello? My tires are on the kerb... there is no more track on the inside :banghead:.

At one stage I was up to P9... sadly I coundn't hang on to it. I was hit from behind which launched me in between two cars about to turn so.. orange SR and a 2s penalty. In the end I finished P13 with 0.7 laps of fuel left and very unhappy tyres. I didn't start to notice the tyre wear much till the last two laps. Final lap I nearly lost it on the final corner, but managed to save the rotation from continuing into a spin. So.... Aston no stopper is doable 👍.

SR still 99, DR dropped nearly 300. Another day above DR 1 .
