Mercedes seems to be a pretty good manufacturer for race b and c. So far I have a 2:09.6 on Suzuka with the SLS and a 1:31.0 on Interlagos with the AMG, +1 BB on both.

Did a couple of no-stop Race C in the AMG GT3. FM and tyres were fine (got a bit more difficult to corner in the last couple of laps but meh), my only problem was other drivers lagging. Got murdered on the first corner of lap 1 in my 2nd race by a Spanish GTI VGT that was teleporting around and repeatedly punted me off throughout the corners until the penalty zone. Took me down to 19th, ruining my race. Somehow finished 10th, despite being hit a lot by other terrible/aggressive drivers. Nobody has any respect.

I’m done with this game. Or at least Sport Mode. (Gee, that’d explain why the majority of GTS players are putzing around in lobbies...) See you all in GT7. This game adds more stress than I need in my life right now. Ranked multiplayer is such a stupid meme. Sorry that I play games to have fun. If I wanted to try my best at something only to be outmatched by everyone else, I have real life for that! I don’t have time to “git gud”! I have a life to lead! I’ve yet to have my first gf! I barely have any friends! I always have to be the first one to try reaching out to my “friends!” I’m going back to school because my biology degree is useless! I’m seeing a therapist because my mental health has been unstable for all my life! I’m scared of the future and that I may see the end of humanity in my lifetime! I’m scared of psychopathic neoliberal beancounters ruining arts, the environment, and politics!

I hate it all! I want control!

I qualified 4th place, got rear ended hard into the wall and wiped out 2 cars in front. 30 second penalty and SRA dropped to SRB.
Ouch. That really sucks.

I tend to stay away from the Tokyo Expressway races. They're unforgiving, as there's no runoff area, and putting other players into the track makes it a cluster 🤬 festival.

Ugh this is not going to be a great week...

So far the best times I can muster are...

Suzuka 2.13.6xx
Interlagos 1.33.9xx

Get it together man!

My opt in Brazil is a whole second quicker!

Still on the list of things I can't do very well are Spoon and Senna. Though the one time I did get Senna right and was 6 tenths up down the back straight I proceeded to mess up turn 4!

Which cars are you using for both tracks?

For Suzuka, I'm using the WRX. Not the fastest, but its a beast in the turns. It also handles the hairpin like a true champ! I'm on BB +2.

For Interlagos, I'm in the AMG GT3. Might not be the meta car (but it's up there), but it's a good car with good handling and good speed. Take it easy on the sharper turns, and this car will take care of you. I'm on BB -1.

I've gone for my 'staples', the ones I know best in theory. But one of us is letting the side down so far this week. Likely me!

Suzuka I did in the Evo. I tried the Jag first as that's what I'd been driving last week but couldn't get it to behave. I will try the WRX. Sounds like a good bet as I like a bit of AWD, will it be quicker than the Evo? Time will tell. My 'best' lap the last time we had Gr.4 at Suzuka was a 2.12.1xx in the mighty mighty TT. I wonder if its still quick?

As for Interlagos, I'm in the Aston. But I think we may have to say goodbye to him for this one again. As per my attempts around Catalunya I just get too much understeer with it. I've never given too much attention to the Mercs, but maybe now's the time!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Of course, as we know, the real answer is just to git gud! Right @Invisigoth !?;)

As suspected, I'm missing something at Interlagos. Granted, I only have the 650S, and '17 RCF on the new account. But, I'm sort of stuck at 1:32.125.

I'll try a few runs on my EU account tomorrow, with the AMG, RSR, and R8.

Best advice I can give, watch a top time replay, try to replicate as best you can.
But watch the replay, pay attention. Look the speedometer, how fast are they going in and out of a turn. Watch how they brake. Try to replicate as best you can. Make it your own. You'll pick up your own pace thought sheer repetition.
But you need to study what the fastest guys are doing. There's a reason they're fast.

I've been doing that for the past 30 mins. To be fair, Interlagos has never been a track that I'm strong at. So, it's no great loss.

I'm getting slower every week.

Admittedly mostly due to laziness. Haven't been putting in the time/miles in practice. Takes me about 100 laps normally to get consistent times close to my best. Only doing about 20 lately.

And always last on my friends list. Stupid sexy Flanders.

Watching TidgneyRacing school again. Feels like I'm in remedial class. :dunce:

I feel tempted to just run people off the road, especially at chicanes and/or tight corners to ruin as many racers as possible, until my DR/SR is both 0, and then never touch Sport Mode again. eSports was a mistake.

Dude, what's the deal? I've really been trying to be nice and sympathize with you today, because obviously you're in pain. I don't think trying to create controversy in multiple threads is going to do anybody any good.
Maybe turn off your computer and go get some exercise, or something.

I mean, that would be like. What, 3 races? Just shut the game off and come back later. Just had a race where I made a monumental mistake, probably screwed 2 players, not on purpose, but still. I just left the race and stopped playing.

Yeah. I see my therapist later this week, so I'll work it out with him. I'll see if I can go for a stroll more often, too.

I don't even really wanna come back to GTS, or at least not Sport Mode. The more I think about my experiences with it, the less I feel like I've been having fun. It feels like a Kafka-esque slog towards nowhere in particular, when I could be doing a million more better things with my time - and that's just the recreational stuff, let alone productive. I've had enough of trying to "git gud." I'm retiring from Sport Mode. I've decided that it's getting Marie Kondo'd out of my life.

You probably heard this before but the 3 most important things to do to battle mental problems are sleep, not too much, not too little (good sleep hygiene), exercise and food.
Friends is good too.
But really, games should be fun, otherwise there is no point playing.

Whatever else you decide to do. I hope you find enjoyment out of it. Cheers!

May I suggest some gr3 dirty lobbies in blue moon? Quite cathartic. :D.

Suzuka was a welcome surprise for me last night. Did a few laps in different times in time qualifying only to settle on the TT.

Did a mid 2.10 and was on pole 2 times for 2 wins. Next 2 races started 2nd and 3rd and just couldn’t make a move to overtake anywhere.

Such a hard track to overtake on. Could catch them in the slipstream down the back straight but never far enough up the inside to make a move and wasn’t going to ruin both our races so settled for 2nd and 3rd. Next race started 3rd but a few little Mistakes cost me and was overtaken down back straight and finished 4th. Good mix of cars so far.

Finally got my DR up a bit after a terrible week at Autopolis! Need to get into mid 9s to keep pole.

Good luck this week everyone.

For a while I thought I was getting slower, too. But I think I'm just staying about the same, while others are putting more effort into improving and getting faster.
I don't have the attention span to repeat the same thing over and over. For example, the idea of doing an endurance race, sounds like torture to me. I would never consider doing one. :yuck:
I remember doing a C race at Fuji that was about 10 laps. I quit after 2 laps because the thought of going around 8 more times was just nauseating.
That's why I mostly do A & B.
