For a while I thought I was getting slower, too. But I think I'm just staying about the same, while others are putting more effort into improving and getting faster.
I don't have the attention span to repeat the same thing over and over. For example, the idea of doing an endurance race, sounds like torture to me. I would never consider doing one. :yuck:
I remember doing a C race at Fuji that was about 10 laps. I quit after 2 laps because the thought of doing 8 more was just nauseating.
That's why I mostly do A & B.

Yeah. If I think about what I want in my experience. It's to race and improve. Mentioned it before but when first getting the game my goal was to be able to finish a race online. I suuuuucked. So I feel pretty good about progress so far. Long story short, I probably won't put any more effort into it than I already have been. I'm enjoying it. Why change that? :D

First night pretending to be Canadian went pretty well. It would have been five from five. But, I was a little too late on the brakes for T1, lap 1 in the second race.

All fun and games at Suzuka just now, I went from B/B rating to D/D in TWO races.. 3 times I got brake checked and ran into the arses of 3 unavoidable cars, then got punted off 4 times with no penalty to the goofballs who ran me off..I’m beginning to think they were Nirvana fans who ganged up on me due to Courtney’s irrational loathing of Eddie (apologies to those who don’t get the reference)

Which cars are you using for both tracks?

For Suzuka, I'm using the WRX. Not the fastest, but its a beast in the turns. It also handles the hairpin like a true champ! I'm on BB +2.

For Interlagos, I'm in the AMG GT3. Might not be the meta car (but it's up there), but it's a good car with good handling and good speed. Take it easy on the sharper turns, and this car will take care of you. I'm on BB -1.

I couldn't get that WRX to turn correctly. My best lap so far is in the NSX.

I haven't touched Interlagos yet. Quite frankly that track triggers me.

Here's me, looking at the race lineup for the week. :indiff:

Race B is smiling at me. I will try to squeeze in a few races since it proved quite beneficial to me the last time it came up (Gr. 3).

Or maybe try Wreckfest! It seems truly the best destruction derby game in many years :gtpflag:

I've moved over to this temporarily (& PC2), so I can spend my energy elsewhere instead of on retribution in GTS.

I wonder if it'd help if there were actually less timeslots? It'd concentrate more players, so it'd be easier to get matched with the players most similar to you. One idea I had was that the races themselves would keep rotating weekly as they do now, but they'd act more like the championship events; they'd have timeslots mostly focused in the evening, in a period ranging from 4PM to 11PM, and they'd include a qualifying session that is immediately followed by a race.

I also think unranked matchmaking would help, ala GT6's Quick Match. I get that there's lobbies, but I don't want to wait for a race to finish or to otherwise wait for when the host feels like starting an event.

Next, I noticed that in one of the prior World Tour events, there was a race that specified "N400 Classic Cars" or something similar in the overview. IIRC it was a race at Goodwood Circuit. I think that'd be neat if there were more particular specifications like that, and I think it's a lot like the "sub-rules" idea I've had before, where all cars in a class are BoPed together, but only some may be available in an event, while some may still feature all cars in a class.

I also really think that "inter-class" N-series cars should also be prohibited when tuning is prohibited, and it's a little frustrating when you're still allowed to tune BB in cars that don't seem to usually permit it as-is. So for example, in the setting menu, you can't change BB in various road cars, but you can change TCS. Both of which is realistic, and when in the menus for a race car, you can indeed change BB before you hit the track. But when on the track, you can then change the BB and fuel mapping regardless of car. (I think ABS should also be a car-by-car thing, rather than a generalized option, especially since some cars didn't have ABS as stock. Same thing with MT vs. AT, including MT /w/ clutch or other transmission types. It'll ostensibly say what transmission a car has in the menu, but you'd have to keep switching between AT/MT in the more general options menu to keep being realistic.)

I just have too many ideas/suggestions, I don't even really know how to best-present or organize them. I like being prompted, instead, where maybe you could ask me about a particular field/topic/element/etc. and I could give my thoughts on that, and then we can go from subject to subject. But I would really enjoy some direction.

So when someone punts you off, causes general mayham on track, and the quits do they still get their SR down?

Having a great time on race C again this week. Got my SR back to 99. And I scrapped and crawled back into DR A for the third time. :)👍:gtpflag:

So why are you pretending to be Canadian other than the fact that we are a cool and polite country that says eh and apologizes too much?

Partially so I can take advantage of the time difference for cleaner racing, if I'm working shifts that don't allow it in EMEA servers.

Partially to get on track with some of the Americans/Canadians here.

I did think of setting up a US account. But, Johnson is in charge here. So, I'm governed by a crazy haired lunatic. I couldn't bring myself to pretend to be governed by another one.

Nicely done Eh! Where aboots are ya from in Canada?

Quebec City.

Close enough to the UK that my connection speed is still decent.

Had 1 go at C tonight, with @GOTMAXPOWER running in the race with me,

Decided to try the Porsche for the first time ever! :D

Started 14th after improving my qualy time to a 1:32.1, but so competitive hence the lowish starting place. Battling in 12th on lap 4, then got buggered from behind and dropped down to 18th. Decided to non stop, and gradually made my way up to 9th as others struggled on worn rubber, or had penalties for running wide out of turn 4, the tight left after the long back straight, harsh that, as you ultimately lose time there, so penalties are unfair for running wide.

I'll be looking to improve tomorrow, and getting a podium at least! ;)

It's understeer can get to ya at times. I kept forgetting about that and would lose it at that turn after the esses. Lift off the throttle/brake to help it turn more.

Or use the NSX. That works, too.
