In the update details, it says they made the pit stops quicker. I wonder if it's enough to change race C strategies.

First impressions of the new cars:
S2000 is fun to drive, as I expected.
Impreza is kinda just ok.
Mitsubishi has way too high of a gear ratio. Slow
Silvia is a good driving car.
Didn't bother with the other one, since it's literally identical to the Trueno.

Driving in the rain is pretty fun. Acceleration is a challenge with any of the tire types.
There's a lot of noise from the water when you're behind another car.

The only MR, Gr. 3 car (that I know of) that actually benefits from setting the BB to the rear is the 911 RSR. I can't remember where I put the BB on the NSX, but I can imagine that putting it to the back is kinda like poking the bear.

The GR3 NSX can benefit from a +1 setting but I currently have mine set to -1. The same was the case with the GR3 Audi, I was at +1 but now I am at -1.

With all of the MR cars, you have to be mindful of downshifts. If you just downshift like a madman, the rear locks up and, combined with the braking and weight distribution, can lead to trouble for some people.

Putting the braking all the way to the rear is definitely a terrible idea.
 
Suzuka, start p14, finish p5 with CRB. All I had to do was stay on the track, lap consistently and dodge spinning and sliding cars.... such is life in the DR B/C/D races in Asia region. Had a similar race the last time Race B was at Interlagos, started P10, finished P1 with only one overtaking manouver.

Interesting. I have the brakes in the RSR set to -2 (front), in fact, I put a lot of the cars I drive to that setting. Allows me to brake a pinch later.

Tokyo is ****ing *****, overtook two guys on a straight and they both tap my side and hit the wall. 6 sec pen.

Dont like someone overtaking you? Just hit them and the wall. They receive a pen!

I have that beat. I got to serve 24 seconds worth of penalties in my Race A last night because of 3 cars colliding behind me, but all 3 spun out and tapped ME from behind. I got the penalty for all 3 cars!!! I wish I had saved the replay. It's an absolute joke this penalty system.

I'm kinda bummed we didn't get a new track. The S2000 is really the only appealing thing in this update. The rain is nice, but, I can't imagine using that very often.

You know, this could be my issue with the GR3 Toyota's, downshifting too aggressively. Something to keep in mind. Thanks for the tip.

Awww man, you've been qualifying! I did a qualy for DTS last week but then had to race in a Subaru WRX because that's the only Gr4 car I had.. it was bad!
I'm coming from Santa Monica, CA... and I live in an $18m beach house with a Swedish maid who serves me English tea and crumpets on the veranda dontcha know :D

This Hamster's getting wetter by the minute! :D I really hope we see these conditions in future Daily Races, and at more tracks toooooooooooooooooooooooooo! ;)
 
2nd last lap. I was 7th.

We 3 were neck and neck. 5th place gets a 4.5 sec pen,6th passes him T8 and i follow suit. For god knows what reason,The Idiot with a 4.5 sec pen rammed into me intentionally ****ing my already shot tyres. There was no sorry either after the race. Such Pricks i tell you. Oooooffffffffffff
 
I'm still such a n00b. Just because there's a min and max tire rating doesn't mean I'm REQUIRED to use both during a race, right?

Also, no pit stop needed in Race C at Interlagos? Seemed like I'm the only one who pit in to fuel and change the tires.

The time cost of a pitstop has dropped by a good 7-10 seconds.

I did a 1 stop earlier. In lap was 1.45 and out lap 1.31 given I was doing mid 1.32.s when I pitted the time loss is approx 11-12 seconds, that was taking on 2 laps worth of fuel as well.

Technically the 1 stop is now quicker if you could just time trial the strategys but as you will be battling through traffic on the 1 stopper it's likely the non stop will come out on top the majority of the time.

Whoa. That's big news! I really disliked doing fuel economy races. It will be awesome if this new change swings some favor towards the pit-stopper. Everyone can just go flat out.

It's also a boost for the A/T users.

It would be nice. The one time I tried to do a no stop was in an Atenza at Catalunya a couple of weeks ago. I finished 10th. I'll likely never do that again.

Yeah it's a change for the good in regards to the racing.

Both strategys are viable now and in turn makes a much larger selection of cars usable.
 
I think yesterday was the first Monday since I started playing online that I didn’t do any laps of the Daily TT’s, feels kinda weird starting on a Tuesday. :lol:

Yeah... I sooo drive around at Gr.4 pace as a strategic decision to save fuel... :lol:

Not on tonight, but tomorrow will hopefully include a significant number of laps in some sort of guise as wifey is out.

Still yet to decide where I suck less. Suzuka or Interlagos. Its a close run thing.
 
Just completed a race at Suzuka. I was in the 4C Gr. 4. 1st and 2nd were in the TT Cup Car.

T1, 1st place goes wide, letting 2nd and I pass them. After that, it was an intense, but fun battle with (now) 1st place. In the straights, the TT Cup pulled away, but in the twisty bits, I quickly gained on them. We even changed positions twice at and just after the hairpin. At the start of the final lap, I messed up a bit, leading to a slightly bigger gap. I manage to close in a bit on him by the end. He defends the inside line at the last chicane to secure his victory.

I finished 0.6 seconds behind him. It was some brilliant racing.

It won’t be tonight unfortunately, my son got his first flat tire this evening, figures it’s a front tire, the car is FF, so I can’t put a dummy tire/donut on the front. So now I have to change two tires using the jack that was included with the car. :lol:
