Every time I come back to GT Sport everyone is noticeably faster. It's mind blowing that so many people are gaining a few tenths every couple of months. No complaints though, more competition is always better than less.

I did about 20 minutes of Daily Race C hot-lapping since Interlagos is the track I have the most laps on in this game and I haven't developed fatigue from racing on it in other games. I ran a 1:30.498 in the Audi R8 since I don't have any of the other cars that I see on the Americas Top 10. I'm probably going to hold off on recording a video and posting it on YouTube to see if I can improve my time. I very much doubt I will do better though.

Pleasantly surprised I got this good of a time since I think I have spent more time playing Minecraft than racing over the last couple of months.

Naw, it seems worse today than ever before. I was down to an 8.4 in the RCF last time and I can’t even get under a 2:10.5 right now. Coming out of the Esses to go up the hill the cars just drive right off the outside, even with lifting and +BB. It’s driving me nuts right now, even the 4C is US’ing right off the track lol.
I believe you're right. Though, I'm not getting "under under" like you're experiencing. I did a 2:10.5 in the Mustang. Tried the Slophy and Cayman. Couldn't best the time.

Well we left Brazil and headed back to Japan.

We're far more competitive here, but no one at Suzuka is patient enough to make a clean pass this evening. Twice in two races I've been leading where the guy behind was probably quicker overall. Twice I've been unceremoniously pushed out of the way. First race through Degner 2... Cheers. Second race through turn 1. Ever more cheers. From being in a good first and having a solid defence I've now finished 4th and 5th respectively...

I didn't gain a few tenths. I switched to a wheel in Feb, and was matching my DS4 times after about a month. Consistency improved. Then out of nowhere, about six weeks ago, I started placing (fairly consistently) in the top 1000 of EMEA.

No idea how. But, something just clicked.

Great time  What are the other cars in the Americas top 10? In EMEA we have R8s, GTI VGTs and Supras.

I was struggling and struggling to get that AMG Below 32.2, did almost 20 laps. Then I jumped in the Vette and somehow scored a 31.7 on the first ugly lap? Turns out I had RH tires on the Merc, no effin wonder I couldn’t get any more out of it!

So we did 6 races at Suzuka in the end tonight.

I started P2 in 2 of them, and in those races I finished P11 & 12. 3 of the races I started P3 and finished 4,5,4. All with the afore mentioned incidents.

Last race. Starting P8 after all the big guns came out to play. I was not expecting a lot... Certainly didn't expect this...69032631_10156850509443740_5965436109281296384_o.jpg

Apparently if I keep the car on the black stuff, were not too bad at this malarky.

Having said that, I QTT in between each race and couldn't get near @RacingGrandpa ! So you get the honors this week!

A good one to finish on though, and that may be me done for the week. Unless Suzuka calls again, Interlagos is getting a wide berth...

Went to Interlagos for a race. Dropped my time by 2 tenths for a 32.6xx

Felt positive.

Matched with A+,As and Bs. Started 8th. The best of the rest.

Made some questionable choices laps 1&2 and proceeded to pick up track limits penalties every lap until lap 6 when I pitted 17/18 10secs adrift

Clean second half of the race. Finished in P15...
I know- I wish my tires were a couple feet wide. Keep clipping the Senna S and another corner with some Portuguese name I can't pronounce.

We seem to be swapping QT back and forth, hope to see you in a race someday soon

It's like you had a fullback and pulling guard clearing the road for you. (sorry gang, getting into football mode)

You too, huh? I've got a fantasy football draft party Saturday night.

...but thought I'd share this penalty for ignoring the track limits. Not quite sure where else I could have gone, could've ignored the car I guess!

I've gotten that penalty in qualifying before & I had to scratch my head also. I want PD to show me how taking the wider line there causes me to have a quicker time.

Man, Race C was an absolute trash fire for me yesterday in the B/S bracket. It's amazing how aggressive drivers get through the twisties in the infield, even on the first lap. Dive bombs left and right. Went for 4 or 5 races where I placed above my number plate in all but one, and yet I still ended the night with -2000 DR. Yikes.

Highlight of the night though was this brilliant move by tmoney812 to cut me off in the Porsche. Blocked so hard he nearly binned himself.

That's me! Cheers mate, that's one of the best races I've had. You and cuda10 were superb drivers. Great job cutting back on my cheeky dive on the hairpin last lap. Seeing from your perspective that was a pretty dangerous move on my part :|

Cuda kept on my tail the entire rest of the race and we actually ended with a really nice photo finish. Thanks for the great race!

No, thank you! It was thrilling.

Yeah, I noticed on my replay that you guys finished extremely close. Our overall pace was bang on for the whole race.

I kinda anticipated that move on the hairpin because I had done similar dives due to miscalculating braking points after drafting for the whole back straight, thankfully nobody got hurt :D.

It's easily one my favorites Sport mode races.

Hey everyone. Every now and then, I hear the term "parked it on the apex," something like that. Anyone know what that means? :dunce:
It's when you're defending a position and take a deliberately extremely narrow line through a corner so that the driver trying to overtake is forced to slow down since ramming you off the circuit isn't an option. You spend extra time "on" the apex similar to being parked.

Mainly to stop someone doing a switchback on you and/or getting good momentum out of a corner
Of course if they commit to the outside and you've parked it on the apex then they could get you like that sticking it round the outside but haven't seen it much

Hmm okay. I ask because I was thinking about a race I did at Suzuka last night and wondered if I did that unintentionally.

It was at the hairpin at Suzuka. We were both in the Megane Trophy. The other driver is right on my tail as we approach the hairpin, so I go for the inside line. I take the inside line, hit the apex, and off I go. The guy behind is still right behind me, but he goes on the outside as he approached the turn. I think he gets directly behind me again (when he hits the apex), but notice that the rear of his far steps out and I was able to get away from him.

My fantasy football draft is tonight. 👍

Oh yeah, the last of the preseason games are tonight.

Next week, it will count.

As for parking on the apex, I admit that I get frustrated when someone does it in front of me. But, I'm sure I've done it & seen it as fair game. As long as someone doesn't hammer the back bumper off my car, then if you get by me, my hat's off to you. I admit to making mistakes & giving easy spots up, but if neither of us misses a step, then I will give you props for the pass, even if I'm parked on the apex.

Met up with Neville at Interlagos again tonight, got sent to the darkest depths of the shadow realm by an overzealous (imo) Porsche tho.

Going to run the 23:00 Eastern race in a McLaren Orange Mac F1 and call it a night.
