I watched @Mistah_MCA s video on Suzuka, tried to replicate the lap and ended up being a full second slower than I was in the Lamborghini.
Figured I would try the car @HammyMansell set his insanely fast Qt in (fastest on my friend list) but right next to it in my garage was a car I never drove, the GTR.
I took it for a spin and on lap 2 I made a 2:11:653, more than a second faster than my previous Qt.

So I drove maybe 10 laps, pretty consistent, with in 1 second.
Took it to race and horror, I got pole...
Not fast enough to hold on, the first guy punted me off at Spoon, dropped to p4, then at the final chicane a guy in a 458 decided that passing me in the entrance is a good idea. I am already turning in, so we touch, he goes over the AstroTurf and I get a 5 second penalty.
Finished p7 as my focus was all lost and anger was high

The lesson learned is get more laps before racing.

While practicing for my next race C, I actually beat my R8 Q time in the AMG  It's a 1:30.439. I'm pretty sure I can get the R8 to a .2 or so but I'm addicted to the AMG right now :dopey:

The race itself was good. I didn't start on pole for this one, I started P2 behind a Porsche and in front of another AMG. The Porsche made a tiny mistake through the Senna S and we were almost 3 wide coming into T4, surprisingly nobody died 👍 The AMG sent it up the inside to take P2 from me into T6, which I definitely didn't expect since that's a very rare spot for clean overtakes. He did the same into T11 (the second slow left-hander) to take the lead. It was clean as far as I saw. The Porsche was forced wide though and I went through into P2. I followed the AMG for one more lap, then got the run out of the final corner to overtake starting lap 3. He gave me a proper run for my money after that, but used up a little too much fuel in the process, so when I finally broke the slipstream halfway through lap 7, I never looked back.

The pitstop buff seems to have restored faith in some people that the one-stop works here... it's not exactly viable, and they're only stealing fastest lap from me... can you not? I need the achievement!

How's the GTR feel around Suzuka? I was thinking about it last night, after being forced to run it on some of driving school test things.

I used BB -1 to get a similar time to Pigems' time. Just stable enough, but you can still get the car to rotate nicely when you want it to.

Wow! Nice lap! My stable time is now only 1.34 ... and I know don't know how keep it in 1.33 without risk... BB -2?

Thanks, I used the same as @Mistah_MCA , BB -1, I was at -2 for a while but it was just a tad to slidey. :)

If you're not great at keeping the mediums alive, I'd recommend the hards, and just splash and dash for fuel.

touch and go there I think. Its 2 secs for new tyres, and now the pit stop is 'shorter' it evens out a bit there. So if you're taking fuel, you might as well take tyres and know you could be 2 secs a lap faster.

At our level its hit and miss as to whether you will make or lose time in doing so as there is such a vast difference in consistency levels from one person to the next!

I always just tend to go for the gamble. I've tried the splash and dash without tyres and then lost positions at the end, struggling with slow or no rubber too many times!

I keep getting a 1.5 second penalty at the final chicane being behind this Scirocco. It has the word "B R A K E" on the rear bumper. Thing is, that player has yellow bars, I have green bars. It's like the car keeps skipping forward and I'm not close to it when entering the chicane. Yet, I get a penalty. Happened at the start of the race and start of the final lap.

Still got it :gtpflag:

Does it say "for disregarding track limits" or something like that? Keep the inner pair of wheels on the curb or the track and it will not happen. 1,5 second is what I get if I cut both corners in the chicane.

It understeers a lot. I suppose since you don't have tyre wear here you can set the BB to something other than 5 without consequence.
I don't experience understeer with it, perhaps I am too slow for that to happen. Slow in/fast out gives a good turn-in and a small sliding rotation on throttle. How the gr3 is I don't know, but the gr 4 is 4WD and I can run it with no TCS without trouble.

(Thanks@invisigoth for pointing out my typo!)

<sneaks in and nicks one of @RacingGrandpa 's 3s and gives him a 4, because GR3 is by definition rwd not awd :p>

Promoted my meme account to C/S with a P17 -> P5 run in Race C. The A+ rated winner ran a total time of 18:49 and pitted for both fuel and tires. My best total time, leading start to finish on the no stop, is 18:44. The one-stoppers could be on to something. :odd:

Took the C7 Gr.3 with the KFC / Taco Bell livery out for a drive at Interlagos tonight, got the ultimate compliment from a V12 Vantage driver post-race: "Ur beast last cnr" which I assume was a reference to how he was stuck behind me for six laps after our pit stops because I put 2-3 tenths of a second on him at the exit of Juncao every lap and so he couldn't ever pass me on the straight despite having the slipstream everywhere.

That was me. You were RIDICULOUS through that corner!! never seen anything like it. I'd get that corner about right and the Aston is an ANIMAL on that straight but you'd just freaking vanish!! I'd make up a ton of time on you through 'Esse', you always took it too wide and i take a weird angle through there that shaves time. So i always thought i just needed to hang on but EVERY time you vanish through the last corner.

I was a bit peeved as I messed up early and dropped to last from P6 but I enjoyed our battle in the end, it was a tough lobby and it was fun trying to get you.

So my other race for the night was better, the game felt sorry for me and dropped me in a weaker lobby where i started P2 but P1 ran a 1.30.9 which is a full second faster than my 2nd best lap (my 1.31.5 was a fluke).

Long story short, P1 is clearly sipping fuel so i muscle past, I come out of the pits and he is 7 seconds ahead. I gain 3 seconds in one lap, then 2, then 1 then i get past. The shorter stops REALLY do make a difference, I lapped hard and solid all race and won by 3 seconds.

Now to more detail. it's amazing how a lack of race craft kills people. In the same race the P3 guy tried to pass me on lap 1 after i went a touch wide but the pass was NEVER on, he stumbled and then was swallowed by the mob. he set fastest lap etc but finished 5th, he likely could have won if he kept his head.

In a more extreme case, the clumsiness and rashness of P3 guy resulted in a bottle neck behind me that a Brazilian in a beetle (!!!!!) took full advantage of to now be in 2nd place. he hounded me hard for 4 laps but I could tell he was reckless, I thought about the undercut on lap 5 but decided against it then he went in and went for the undercut ... i thought i was in trouble. He re-entered in the middle of traffic and his crazy impatience meant he hit EVERY DAMN CAR HE COME ACROSS and he finished 10th. He should have won but couldn't contain himself.

Been doing race C. Qualified with the Supra with a 1.30.8 but couldn't keep up in the race (was averaging 1.35.0 in one stop and wasn't fast enough in one stop against a lo by full of As and S). Switched to the AMG with BB-1 with medium tires and was able to stay in the mid1.33.00s and low 1.34.00 for at least 10 laps. The AMG is just amazingly stable and good on fuel. Couldn't get a fast lap in quali under 1.31.00 though. Maybe I'll try again with BB-4

I think I saw you in a couple Race C’s late last night. After I got a no-qualy win on my 2nd account I accidentally crossed the line in time trial and set a time so I switched to my main and I actually got several podium finishes in the SR99 lobby starting from the back. Thanks for the clean race!

I’ve been able to run consistently in the 33’s almost every lap in the Atenza while short-shifting on FM1, BB+3. Fastest lap has been mid 32’s and slowest is typically 34.2 ish. I’ve just been mooching slipstream and nursing the tires for the first couple laps then pushing harder toward the middle of the race. See you next time!

Also, here’s a fun little chase I had in one of those races where I throw it round the outside on the final corner of the final lap. Risky, but it paid off.

Yes! Great pass at the end! My tires were completely shot in the last 2 laps. Seemed like I couldn't nurse them while battling with the Mexicans. Can't believe you started from the back. Makes me feel I've got a lot to improve

I am DR B in GTS. I have the impression that this is the dirtiest class in the game. The riders are not slow but not fast enough for A or S. Many are trying to get DR A or S over-motivated or with dirty tricks. I have made a break for several weeks because the faulty penalty system annoyed me. When I raced again I was stunned when I saw what was going on around me. The race yesterday was downright bizarre. To change the line in the braking phase to block the rear man has become seemingly standard in DR B. More and more drivers are now reacting by touching the driver ahead and then driving to the wall or into the grass. The front man gets 3 to 5 seconds penalty for this and you are past him after the next penalty zone. Together with the usual divebombs, this has developed into a standard maneuver in the race yesterday. After the first time penalty, I gave up, let anyone pass by who pushed behind me and looked at the chaos in peace. Nevertheless, I could still reach a place in midfield because the drivers around me got massively punished and had accidents. A malfunction has therefore caused the next malfunction as a reaction. I think that's bizzar. This has nothing to do with real racing anymore. It has become a game with its own rules. For a game like Wreckfest, that would be a pretty fun game mode. Together with the damage model in that game that could be really interesting. But for a program like GTS that's called a simulation, it's a shame. It is a shame that all drivers in the field were SR S. If that's S, what's going on in races with worse grading?

His times fuel sipping on used rubber are ridiculous, NFI how he manages that. I'm doing 33's going flat stick and stopping.
