I hope to see you again soon!

Maybe at the weekend, Mistah.

I'm not really a fan of RBR if I'm being completely honest, and Tokyo is a mess. Along with me being crap at street circuits

I think I'll spend the week trying to hit 100% "career" mode, on both accounts.

Along with cleaning boots.

And figuring out ways of buying other boots that I really shouldn't be buying. Almost two weeks wages you say? I'll take two pairs! :banghead:

(Side note: maybe BoP could affect not only power/weight, but maybe other metrics like downforce and final gear ratios, too? And a group's post-BoP stats could be made as uniform as they can get, regardless of track?)

Yeah, PD should really see gear ratios and other fine-tuning as an alternate way of finding balance between cars beyond the usual power/weight 1% changes. The recent TT with Gr. 3 at Interlagos proved that the meta definitely changes when tuning is allowed, and some "forgotten" cars could shine.

haha... if only I could do that!!

I would abuse it if I could use the Force.

I just don't trust the physics at times. Sometimes a car is on rails. Sometimes the thing slides into corners. Sometimes it does both. Sometimes it's just no where.
I go by the rule: "It's not the tool, it's the fool." but dang it, TCS is my friend in Gr.3/2/1. ;)

If not for TC, I wouldn't have won a race. But I agree on the physics. The Viper has been plenty capable this last week while it was a dumpster fire in several previous updates.

Although I feel left out again without that coveted red dot

I avoided penalties all last week. Except for one race...

That's an early announcement :odd:

Next week's dailies:

Race A: Gr.4 (FF?) @ Autopolis, 4 laps, RH
Race B: N300 One-Make @ Nordschleife, 1 lap, SH
Race C: Gr.1 @ Sarthe, 5 laps, RH, 11x tires, 5x fuel

PD throws cred at me just for being Aussie ;). 200k because another Aussie did well with FIA.

I was greeted with the same message. Free credits & mileage points (although I'm topped out)? Yes please!

I've been day dreaming that it be fun to have a racing game where we could do a "Cannonball Run" type of race.

Sounds like a great time to bust out Project Cars 2.

Nope, only strategy is avoiding penalties. Just got one for this...

Car behind first bumps me into the car in front of me, then sticks his nose between my rear bumper and the wall. 5 sec for me....

At least the broken placement of the penalty zone makes 5 seconds not hurt as much as usual.

Here is the one "race" where I got a penalty all of last week. Tell me what all of you think.

But, before that, I went full bore in qualifying while the lobby was being set for a race & wouldn't you know it, I trimmed my best time a little bit more.

Now for the races. I ran 3 yesterday in the Viper. First race is below. Started 4th wearing door number 1. Finished 2nd. But, the important part was that I gained enough DR to bump into the B class. So, races 2 & 3 had door numbers 16 & 11, respectively. Second race, started 6th, finished 3rd. Last full race of the week had me starting 4th & finishing runner up once again. It was a good week overall. Now to try the Bull Ring.

Tried a Race C. Quit 1/4 way through lap 1.

It went horribly. Started 10th. Every car behind hit me through T1. On my way through the uphill tunnel chicane thing ghost cars appear in the middle of the road, I try to avoid... penalty.

Not even mad. I just don't get Tokyo Expressway. It's a highway with 2 traffic jams on either end. And it all comes down to how many Huracans are on the grid.

Decided to go back for more Lambo laps instead of racing, glad I did too. I’ve now got it down to a 2:07.7, good for #9 ATM. I’ve had .250 on that lap coming out of T2 a couple times afterwards but I ran the chicane so well on this lap that I can’t keep any gains made before it now.

Yeah. I think that it'd be too chaotic for the BoP values to vary on the track, but I think allowing downforce and final gear to be additional factors would help a ton. (Whereas I don't think it's as necessary to have BoP account for stuff like the LSD & suspension. Similarly, if it were just downforce that's added as a BoP factor, what about the cars that don't have adjustable downforce, like most N-Series cars?)

I also believe the current BoP values for all classes (and vehicles within them) should be available for view on the official website, app, and perhaps in-game as well.

In addition, I'm unsure if both SF19 models deserve to be consolidated into a hypothetical "Gr.SF" class, as I'm not sure what would actually be balanced when BoP is on, as I'm pretty sure both cars have identical stats compared to Gr.3, Gr.4, etc. I could see things being fine as they are, where they're both in Gr.X, but there could be times like in the GT League event, where you can use either of them, and tuning would be disabled.

I also wonder if tuning could have multiple levels of being limited? Like you could disable certain sections of tuning, or specific metrics, (e.g. disabling the modification of all but one or two gears in the transmission), or even putting ranges on each metrics like one would for power/weight. (On that note, I think there should be an ability to clarify both a minimum and maximum power and/or weight, rather than just having a maximum power and minimum weight.)

They should just make everyone a ghost in this weeks daily race C but keep the slipstream and dirty air.

It's simply just not practical to race on.
Reminds me of the Premium Races in GTA Online. If you know anything about racing there in general, people are incredibly dirty drivers there. So dirty, it makes the dirty players here and in Forza blush.

But anyways, these Premium races. You wagered 20k GTA dollars, with the top 3 getting a payout. Well, you have your dirty racers, but then some people intentionally went the wrong way, trying to crash others head on. Some would even block a narrow part of the track, making the race near-impossible to finish. To solve this, the devs made those specific races non-contact (everyone is ghosted), and I think slipstream still works.

Your comment reminded me of that. Good times haha.

Please tell me why there is no disqualification system for drivers that get excessive penalties?

Busted my ass last week to get myself over the 20k DR mark (big achievement for me) and then over maybe 5 races I lose 3k DR and 11 SR because of drivers like this.

This driver went from SR S to B in a single race. How is that not grounds for disqualification?

The game will throw a "You will be disqualified" warning up if you get stuck in a sand trap too long, but someone loses 25 SR in a single race and nothing happens.

I think it's because things can get really crappy with different drivers. After my disasters over the course of a couple races at dragon trail a few weeks ago I managed to lose a total of 52 SR over 4 races. 2 of those races were positive SR for me!! I got stuck with one driver using me as his brake at the hairpins and as a turning aid at that first odd chicane, for about 3 laps. I lost another load of SR in one race as I got punted into the chicane of death and it ruled that I brake checked the driver, got blasted off track twice in last turn on consecutive laps and then when I tried to pass a slower driver he rubbed me off by pushing me into the wall in the tunnel, and again, I got the penalty.

As much as I hate having people like that around sometimes we all get shafted over a few crap races. Now after all that, my SR graph doesn't look anywhere near as psychotic as that one. Maybe there needs to be a "SR change over a certain number of days played" limit to penalize people. I admit to sometimes 'farming' SR if I get really shafted, but I simply drop back at the start and try to pull a @Sven Jurgens and get a CRB coming from the back. I don't abandon the race to do this, I try to maintain my DR and race, but get super cautious. Oddly it often helps me check alternate lines and practice clean passing.

There is an A/S racer in asia who is notorious to me for racing from the back. Super fast but ultra impatient and I can count on one hand the number of times they have passed me without a bumper tap to put me off line or a side barge. Plenty dirty, but they seem to have mastered the system and avoid penalties and keep their SR up. They should be punished as well, but how? Other than me punting them to hell next time.

If someone could explain to me why do people dive on t1 in the first freaking lap... on Tokyo of all circuits. I mean, if you dive, I can just go on the outside, if you even touch me, there's a wall and 5 seconds with your name on it. Good luck coming back from that.
Just use the slipstream, let the race settle down. Next thing you know... you and the guy ahead will be far away from the rest

Let's see if my meme account can survive Tokyo today without getting a DR reset... :nervous:

I almost got disqualified once for putting the car in autodrive and texting during warmup in an FIA race, so yeah. :P

So I lied about not doing anymore time trial laps on the A race. I eventually brought it down to 1:11.120, making me neighbors with Mr. Pigems.

Did a few more laps, and brought it down to 1:10.7.
Now I don't have to deal with this stupid combo for the rest of the week. :D

Although lag is still odd, Brazilian turbo boost button confirmed
9XmoruS.gif

Nope. No boost, man. That's just the Huracan in a long straight line and a slipstream. The car has infinite top speed. I did 277 kph yesterday at the end of the straight because of slipstreaming and still wasn't even close to the rev limiter. If he was in a slipstream the whole straight, he may have been (and probably was) going even faster. It's great. You're just waving at cars as you're passing by. Such a shame there's no horn in this game. I would definitely honk everytime.

That's my exit message : "See? We raced fair and gapped the field" ;)

Race C last night was a blast on #2 account - mixture of B/A/A+, starting about P10 or so.. approaching T1 and weirdly everyone took it easy and got through as far as i could see. Soon enough there was a pack of about 6 of us nose to tail / side by side for the best part of a lap and this is when i thought - wouldn't it be great to have headsets on and be able to talk to the people you're racing with - because i'm sure we were all on the same page thinking 'please don't go for that crazy gap or late braking manoeuvre' and like true racing gentlemen we squeezed through without incident. Needless to say, the inevitable happened and a few corners later there was a massive pile up in front of me and i slipped through the ghosted cars into 5th place.. the top 4 about 3 seconds ahead and that's how it stayed to the end with about a 6 second gap behind me to 6th.
I'm sure that's just a freak one off race though and tonight will be back to the normal puntfest and SR cliff drop :nervous: at one point last night there was a guy i saw with 15 seconds of penalties to get rid of
