...the brake bias is weird to me though, I’d expect it to have a greater effect on tyre wear but my fronts still end up cooked quicker with rear BB:+5...

If you turn in too hard you'll push the front and wear the front tyres regardless of brake balance. Get a wee bit slower before turn in, saves the front and if you position it right it let's you get on the power a tad earlier on the exit.

He was going the same speed as me not drafting, then lagged back a bit to get bumped by the car behind him giving him a speed boost. A lag brake check turbo boost :lol:

Maybe it's kind of a stupid question... I love the lap guides (very useful :cheers:) but are there any "how to defend on specific track?" videos? Or these like (most of the times) "you saw one, you saw all the tactics"?

Live streams cover that (?). Obviously you don't know what you'll get because it's live. But they usually talk about how someone else it blocking them or how they defend, what to look out for on a certain track, etc..
 
I started a second account to try to get to A / S the hard way. So no qually, start from the back in every race and see how it goes. Having no cars I've been doing Race A. 3 races, 3 wins and SR 56. Need to do a 4th to get my mileage bonus gift car and the credits to buy a Gr.4 car (if the roulette wheel doesn't oblige!). I'm not sure whether I count the circuit experience as cheating due to all the credits and gift cars. I'm thinking about that before I do one.

I'm regretting it already but I'll stick at it.
 
I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. After yesterdays 20SR loss I decided to give BRB a break and do Race A to try claw back some points. My qualifying time was less than spectacular, and evasive action stalled the car and had me finishing last. I gained 3 whole SR back and lost most of the DR I gained from the previous day. One more race like that and I'm back to DR 1:crazy:.

Drastic times call for drastic measures. I hate racing Tokyo... I avoid it like the plague because typically I end up getting slammed into walls and accumulating 1min+ in penalties. The logic therefore behind the madness of entering is that lately, typically DR/Ds are pretty scarce in entering race Cs, so the points loss of finishing down near the bottom is less.

It's @Sven Jurgens time with a no qualifier starting in P19. I was focusing on not hitting walls, so my lap times were .... s l o w :odd:. Despite that, and never passing *anyone*, I still finished 5 places ahead of my starting position with a clean race bonus. SR went up 8 and DR down150. I think there were only 3 of us in the entire race with no red dot, and the 5 places I gained were from either disqualifiers or rage quits.

My DR took a bit of a hit, but still hanging onto points by a thread. Another day above DR 1... barely :crazy:.

circuit experience is a great way to earn $$$ when starting a new account. It really makes you think about what you want to buy to suit the races you want to enter as well
 
After doing more Time Trial laps at Tokyo East, I decided that I suck at it. But still, I like the track and want to do the race, so I logged into my Australian account so nobody I know would see how lousy I am. I started 19th with no Q time. I mainly just passed people who crashed, or were serving penalties (probably the worst possible place for a penalty zone :confused:). I managed to make it to the final lap with no penalties.

This is a clip of the final lap, where I had a good shot of finishing 6th. I ended up 7th because the ramrod in front, who already had a penalty coming, lost his mind I guess. I never touched the guy. Never even saw him until the last lap. I even tapped the brakes coming out of turn 2, so I wouldn't hit him. Anyways, he gave me a penalty, too. Whatever. It's really late in Japan. Maybe he's drunk. :lol:


In the next race, I only got to 8th, but had no red dot at the end. 👍

meh, I just suck that’s or there’s just not enough travel in the DS4 analogue stick before it snaps to one direction, i’m still quicker in the Skyline at 1:32 than the Lambo where i’m lucky to hit 1:36s.

Great width on the takeway, ideal shaft plane and you clear your hips great (helps that you have very good sequencing) -- clearly a swing you've put time and money into. Also helps that it would appear you have some good flexibility as well.

Now, I'm just going to quietly sit here and think about my whopping 210 yard drives and 140 yard 7i with my short stumpy arms.

TYVM Sir, I’ve definitely put a LOT of hours into improving my game/swing, I actually shot my first ever sub 70 round last summer (69/-1). I’ve never had a formal lesson but I have gotten lots of help from GolfWRX.com(the GTP of Golf). :)

Revisted RBR for hot lapping.

Aston - 1:30.874. I liked the car here and I think its still got more to give in my hands.
Nissan GTR - 1:30.423. First time I've used this car.

BB +2 for both cars.

To me, the Aston felt more stable in 3rd gear than the Nissan. However, once you get the hang of the Nissan it does feel quick!

Day off work and have spent a few hours hot lapping the dailies.

A: Fiat 500 is boring as hell! 1:11.738 just for the easy K-Score points. I like the track (was good for the VW Gr4 races), but the Fiat is too slow. There are other N100 cars that would be better.
B: Tried my go to Audi. Didn't rate it here. In the Mustang....better, with a 1:31.150. Will try maybe try other cars this afternoon.
C: I like hot lapping this track. Used the Lambo for 2:09.380.

Will go back to races B and C as there is more time on the table for both.

Might race from the back on second account, but having problems with downshift paddle. Occasionally doesn't downshift or will downshift two gears. Annoying! I've emailed Fanatec, but they'll want me to send it off to them. I don't want to send it off as I want to do the Le Mans daily next week!

I know this is off topic, but with regards to your Fanatec RMA. I had a defective wheel in June. Opened the case on June 17, and after everything was said and done, I received my replacement around July 13. Things took a bit longer than I suspected they would.
 
Nothing like one bad race against a hot-head to drop your SR by 25 points and your DR by 1200 points. Spent the rest of the day building both back up. The highs and lows of racing is real. :)

I may just purposely reset myself tonight and see how many Tokyo races it takes to get back to SR 100. :lol:

I did 2 this morning. If you start at the back, just stay in last place until turn 1. Let the other guys smash each other. Then you should be able to pass about 3 ghosted cars before turn 2. 👍 :lol:

I really had fun racing from the back. I may just do that all week, since my qualifying is no good.

Thanks for the info. A month is quite a long time. However, good they did a full replacement.
 
Had time for one race. Used main account.

Started 4th. All B/S on the grid.
Pole was 1:29.800.
AMG, Huracan and Nissan GTR (me) in top 5.

Disaster on lap one! 5th got the run at me after turn 1. Gave him space and he passed me on the inside. 6th took the space too and I was tapped into a spin. Ended up last!

Blue SR. Lost 700 DR

I had the same experience when I started out, but changing my style made me much faster, and saved the tires at the same time.
That being said you are close to my speed as is, so you can be really fast!

It’s the 2nd and 3rd corner that’s letting me down, I dunno when to brake especially on the 2nd it’s almost pot luck, the 3rd I brake just before the sign.



MRs are almost impossible for me to drive, I feel like I always have to be extra smooth with them over wise I get a ton of oversteer where as FRs seem to stick to the road but have slower acceleration.

When it comes to MR cars, you have to commit to what you want to do in a turn. Some cars, like the R8 LMS and Huracan GT3, are notorious for this, as trying to change mid-way will lead you to having a bad time. So have a gameplan of what you want to do when you approach these turns.

For T2, brake right after you hear the sound that indicates that you're in a new sector. This turn is tricky, as you need to go full throttle ASAP, and may need to do some countersteering. Try to straighten the car first before you fully accelerate.

T3, brake in between 150m and 100m boards. This turn places some priority on trail braking, so smoothly engage on that as you enter the turn. The apex is before the yellow line that goes across the track, and smoothly accelerate out.
