It can get depressing with some games, though. Especially when you can't seem to give up on it. I've only recently been able to quit on a few games' trophies that were eating at my soul.

I can’t imagine there are too many guys out there with the GT Sport Platinum Trophy, it requires 65 online Poles and 91 online Wins. That’s a pretty tall task.

A few times I got lucky and found myself getting grouped with folks just a bit slower than me, so I just milked those moments as far as I could. Of course it depends on individual skill levels, and it's been a long while since I played Sport so I don't know how the fields are online now. Also that was with daily races instead of weekly.

Just be on the lookout for a car/track combination that really suits you and put in the practice time to really squeeze out the best laps you can. For getting those poles and wins for the achievement don't be afraid to dip into the counter steering assist.;)

If you're exceptionally clean, a small drop in the Sportsmanship rating might find you in slower packs. Just don't drop toof far and luckily you'll get some poles and avoid turn1 incidents.

I'm not too crazy about it, but I tend to get platinum on most games that I play. I like it, it makes me enjoy aspects that I wouldn't otherwise, like, I don't know, Sport mode on GTS .

Yes, it is a tall order for average players, which makes the trophy rare and more rewarding, IMO. I got the poles and wins both pretty easily actually - I had a week in the top 30 fastest on our region, so I won a lot there. Plus, some Lake Maggiores weeks were extremely profitable on my holidays.

And since I got the platinum on both GT5 and GT6, it wouldn't feel right not getting it on GT Sport also.

I can't be doing that (this far anyway). I'm only at level 46.

Same here, I’m only at 43 though. There’s just no incentive to play GT League what so ever, even a simple prize car for finishing each series would be enough to get me to finish it most likely. It’s just so damm boring after playing against real people. I’ll probably just end up rubber banding it eventually, but I’d rather not if I don’t have to.

Race B is super dirty right now. Something about slow cars that makes people think it's ok to push other cars off the road whenever they can get a nose to a bumper. Down to 82 SR, -17 for last race from all the bumping from behind and diving on my inside, then the car in front of me pushed the car in front of him sideways, couldn't avoid, 4 sec penalty for me.

I might switch to Sarthe soon, can't be worse than Nord atm.

Wow, -1 SR for next race, constant bumping and dive bombs. PD really needs to crank up the penalties to fix this. If I hit SR.A I'll qualify, start ahead of the clowns.

Ugh...with my dented SR I'm dreading the braking zones tonight.
Took a win apiece in the TS050 (sorry, not sorry for following the meta) and the Titters. I inherited the latter win (my 20th after 555 attempts!) when the 2nd-placed asshat punted the original leader off and somehow, the GT Sport gods struck down upon them with great vengeance and a 5-sec penalty.

Not much dirtiness at La Sarthe. But, there are a fair amount of accidents, caused by people being out of control. Those braking points seem to be hard to find in Gr.1 cars, for many people.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of while driving a GR.C car. Plus you get rammed on corner exit as well by those hybrid rocket launches. Ugh why the lancer again on Nord. Half the people are stunt driving the car, sideways through the corner swiping people out of the way. The disadvantage of no tire wear :/

81 SR, can it be a somewhat clean race next, or qualify. Not that it matters much, starting 5th while not qualifying... Just need that one or two spots to start ahead of the qualified yet clueless that cause the 10 non qualifiers behind me to crash into me while I patiently wait for a safe opening...

Starting 5th next, behind a C/S with 9:17 quali time, only 1 minute 10 off the pace. Yeah I guess not qualifying is not going to work on Nord as usual.

Surprise, 2nd place, +4 SR to 85. Someone tried to blame me for knocking another car off, who did it all himself by bouncing off the one blaming me. Love that instant replay video, never touched him. Well I did, when he came flying back from the grass he knocked me into the wall and ended up with 7 sec in penalties. They both had yellow connections, could have been lag.

Here is a fun one from the weekend. Kicks off with a T1 incident where someone seemingly doesn't brake at all punting the car in front of me. 100% my fault says the game.

Stuff like that would make me rage quit. I didn't see any notice that the dive bomber touched you, so the penalty would be enough to make me swear off the track in daily races forever. But, I already did, so I don't have a video of me rage quitting.

Don't get me wrong, I like driving the Gr.1 cars. I just suck at it 'coz my reactions are too slow and a DS4 is not suited to those speeds.

The DS4 isn't the best way to drive most of the cars in GTS, but the Gr. 1 cars are just blitzkrieg fast for me & I blow past the braking points with ease.

I did receive a question mark from 2nd place. Was I dirty here?
I did draft bump to get by, yet mr Brazil hit me 3 times.

I didn't see anything dirty. What were you supposed to do, drive off the track just to give that guy a lane? No. Mr. Brazil who was bumping you has his own set of issues. He was stuck behind 2 other cars. His options: take 3rd place, slam someone off track to gain a spot & incur a penalty, or drive in the grass to get the lead & incur a penalty.

? Stadium truck seriously lolll you take this 4 clean driving exemple OMG ok  racing etiquette is a better exemple i tink it say racing is a non contact sport so if you cant avoid contact you stay behind pretty simple ?

The racing etiquette videos want you to keep your bumpers off everyone else. Then, nobody catches a penalty. But, if you have the pace to pass, jackholes in front of you shouldn't be bent on blocking you. I had a driver at RBR last week who was clearly faster than me. He was patient & coming to a straightaway, I let him go. He left me quickly & went to contend for the lead. If he was impatient, he could have pushed me wide & pass sooner. But, I wouldn't say I was blocking under either circumstance. I've even had fun with a few drivers who were a little frisky, but didn't drive dirty.

@Pigems, you should give race C a try, with your lowest SR account. I did it twice, this morning on my Murph account, which has a 63 SR. I didn't qualify, and got top 5 both times. It's pretty fun. I think you'll like it. You'll probably have good success, there. 👍

Nicely done! I was gonna try it tonight, but I decided to take the night off. I’ll most definitely be out there tomorrow though, I want to run the R92, but the TS050 in usually the best car for me in this race. :)

I can understand that. I take days off, from racing too, when I've done too much of it, and it's not so fun. Even combos that I like, get boring after after 3 or 4 days.

The TS050 got me the fastest overall race time, but I get to feeling uneasy about having other cars closing on me from behind at a really fast rate, when nearing the end of a straight and approaching a braking zone. :scared:

The trick is to let them by as quickly as possible, even if you have to lift a bit, then get in their draft. The TS050 brakes and accelerates so quickly that you can out brake, and then pull away from most of the other cars in the tight corners. But, the R92 on the other hand is just flat out awesome, I’ll have to try both. :D

At least the TS050 brakes well. It's bloody scary when your in the GR.C Jag and someone is close behind you for the braking zone...

I escaped penalties for another race, neutral SR. Bump bump bumptie bump. I guess I'll stay in the low SR.S room starting 5th lol. Perhaps a Sarthe race at 7:30 if I'm still in the 80-89 range. Low SR.S split on Sarthe might be cleanish / good from the back.

Started 7th, finished 2nd with clean race bonus, +3 SR to 88. On to Sarthe!

Starting 17th in the 962C, R '18 behind me. I guess I'll lube up.

The R18 already shot by before the first chicane, then another after the second chicane. I kept it steady, followed the penalty train and passed them on the straight. I did nick 0.5 sec at Indianapolis to avoid an early braker, got punted and bumped off and finished 7th in the end. +9 SR to 97. TS050 won of course. Next up the top SR.S room.

Started 19th, made it to 11th, got punted off by a 908 in the final lap into the sand in the Porsche curves, finished 14th. Punter didn't get a penalty. Oh well, back to the Nord I guess. At least the punts don't hurt as much there.

Race C is really hard to overtake at the front, if you're within about 1.5s you suffer really badly from the dirty air, at Tertre Rouge and the Porsche Curves the front end doesn't want to steer at all so you can't really get any closer than that (if you're not careful it pushes you too wide into a penalty). It's close enough to pick up a slipstream on the 3 sections of Mulsanne but never really enough to be close enough to make a pass unless the car ahead has made a mistake. The best overtaking opportunity is probably the back straight on the run down to Indianapolis (the narrowest road on the track which the most sketchy braking zone at the end).

Usually (if everybody is in the same Toyota) you will finish the race in the same position you start it so getting a really good qualifying lap is more important than normal.

It was so bad today I started laughing. Everyone including me got a penalty except #1.

I was talking about dirty air before my last race, this shows it pretty well. The other driver (Steve) was a lot quicker than me but couldn't find a way through for 2 and a half laps just because of the understeer you get following somebody. Also, If you're ahead at Indianapolis you're pretty safe for the rest of the lap so I let him pass at Mulsanne corner twice to be in position to draft back past. As soon as he got through he cleared off for an easy win but the fight was good fun whilst it lasted.

Yep. And I just got (another) one as a daily reward yesterday - I'll never drive the thing and I can't sell it, what use is it? :indiff:

I've heard people say this a lot but my best time at sarthe with the gr.1 cars is a 3:23.4 on a controller (i don't own a wheel), the speed really isn't an issue for me on the controller until it starts to get to tomahawk/red bull territory on certain tracks.

The problem is just the understeer sometimes on a controller, and the brakes not ever feeling like they're 100% doing what you want them to do lol

At least thats the case for me anyway

I just stayed behind a car that was constantly bumping and sticking his nose in by the car in front of him. Way too dangerous to pass. They both had red SR in the end, car in front from all the SR Downs received and getting pushed wide for track penalties and the car bumping a couple penalties for pushing the car ahead too far. I passed them both at the PZ, but the rest was long gone. Clean race bonus, but pointless race. Nord needs a PZ in the middle as well to get these dangerous drivers out of the way.

It's only Monday so hopefully race craft improves during the week. Sarthe was comedy as well lap 1, both in the 80-89 and 90-99 SR range. Flashing penalties everywhere, however on Sarthe the short cut and 1 sec murder penalties are so insignificant in the backfield, it's no deterrent. Just draft back up.

I could play this game for the next 25 years and never approach this.

And I'm perfectly ok with this.

I grinded the Bluemoon bay race to get to level 50 quicker. It was totally unnecessary.
You need a total of 2,343,707 xp to get to level 50.
According to KP I have made an additional 3,303,658 xp since reaching level 50
Mind you that's almost almost 7,500 sport races worth of xp

I asked for shenanigans yesterday and I got them. I did tried to qualify for Race B but I binned it in the last couple of corners and my lap was invalidated. I somehow knew I was going to do that. I was put into 8th for the race and the car in front didn't move, so the AI stopped my car and everyone else's behind. There was a large gap to make up. I had a great battle with Japanese driver for the entire lap and I pushed up to 4th. We got onto the back straight and I was ahead, but he had the slipstream so I had to weave. Coming into the flat left hander, we went side by side and it all ended up in tears. We bumped each other and went off the track. I didn't spin and got a penalty. Even though it was a racing incident. My SR was dropped to a C. That didn't help at Le Mans, where everyone was trying to kill me. But in the two races I did, I scored a 4th and a 2nd. Although I could've been first if one guy who pitted on lap 2 didn't outplay me on strategy. I don't think he changed his tyres which gave him just enough distance to beat me. So I'll try that strategy and if that doesn't work, I have to try the dreaded no-stop where I have to use manual gears.
