With TC? that's a surprise to me, I just assumed all the best guys switched TC off so I forced myself to not use it, which is also why I had a nightmare in the last nations race of the last season with those red bull cars haha...

But yeah, i just honestly didn't assume someone could get beyond 30K or whatever with traction on, I was under the impression that it was that much of a barrier.
There are plenty of A+ drivers who use TCS. But, not all the time. I'm not all that great, but I'm usually in the 30k-40k range, and I use it on cars above Gr.4. I've passed thousands of cars on corner exits, when they spin their tires. Definitely use it on the karts, too.

I may make an alt account and try to race in other regions tbh. It seems like most people do it and it can be fun :D
Do it. I'm on the west coast of USA, and I have a good connection when racing against Japanese and Australians on my Asian account. 👍

Those people who say sorry after the race are the crappers of the racing community. If they were really sorry, they would at least give back the position or... hey! They wouldn't drive dirty at all!
Dirty drivers don't apologize after a race. It's people who make mistakes. Believe me, I've hit a lot of people on purpose, but waaaay more on accident. Anyone I've meant to hit, deserved it (in my opinion). A few times, the really bad people got the opposite of an apology from me after a race, when I encourage them to enter the next race, because I hadn't finished hitting them, yet.

If I'm apologizing after a race, it's because I screwed up, and my error hurt somebody else's race. Many times, a form of apology happens during the race, when I slow to give back the position.

Track limits at lemans feel like there all over the place, especially at Indianapolis. Also people always end up braking way to early there and I end up in the back of them 🤬

Edit: now B B not A S now from people being stupid

Seeing as I ruined my "from the back" week by accidentally crossing the line in the Peugeot, I'm going to set a proper quali time tonight, and go for a couple of wins.

Race pace is now in the high 3:26/low 3:27s.

Over the weekend, I'll improve my EMEA quali time, and try not to lose too much DR.
It's was great sharing the track with you a couple of times last night Player :dopey:. Judging by how far you had come in both races, I'm pretty sure with a few more laps you would've caught me too .

All in all Lesarthe has been good to me so far this week. Started the week off @ like 36k and some change. I finished off last night at 41k . Gonna be interesting to see where my DR ends up at the end of the week. 39,993 was the highest I'd ever been before things went horribly down hill :scared:.

One of the things I wish they'd implement for daily races is whatever car you qualify with, is the car you have to start the race with.

To stop people from qualifying in the fastest qualifying car, then switching to the best race trim vehicle.

I'd much rather see the disparity in strategy of people either going for better start position, or better race package, especially at tracks like Sarthe where you basically have the top 10 qualifying in one vehicle, then using a completely different vehicle for the race.

Had a great morning at the Nordschleife in Daily Race B, completing somewhere around 15 races and actually winning 5 of them! Racing from at or near the front with a qualifying time of 8:13:669. I'm an A/S driver and I think the wee hours of the morning gave me some relatively weak lobbies, but, hey, I'll take what I can get!

Generally clean racing, with most understanding what the car can and can't do, and what is necessary to pull off a pass. Also, using a tip I read in here somewhere, unless I had a good 3+ second lead heading into the first carousel, I'd rather be following during the second half of the lap to use the slipstream down the back straightaway to pull off the white knuckle pass for the victory! (or die trying)

Anyway, the last 2 weeks have been great for me with Tokyo Race C last week and the Ring this week, as I've seen my DR increase by around 14,000 points, and pretty much maintained a SR of 99 except for a dip down to 83 as some dude in Tokyo had it out for me at one point.

So, there's my first post. Hope I did it right. Nice to be here, I've been quietly lurking for years (mooching info), and have been playing racing games since Michael Andretti's World GP on my NES way back in the day. Love all the GT games and GT Sport blows me away for the most part.

@afc5150 great first post and welcome to the conversation. Looks like you had a great morning.

I am working early today so i was not able to do my usual morning routine of racing between 9-12, but i hope to be on this afternoon when some of you boys seem to be on more...

Remember a friend getting Gt when it first came out and having me over to pass his driving tests as I could do it but he couldn't.
I did that too, except for Super License. Still the only one I've ever known to get it.

Am I the only one who feels a compulsion to launch missiles at the hovering helicopters at le Sarthe?
I just heard the Spy Hunter theme.

@Sven Jurgens : Regarding my recent visit to SR B (only 59 points now) you were totally correct. 4 races last night. The worst driving I experienced was actually my own fault. In 2nd or 3rd (can't recall exactly) and right on the bumper of a guy I recognise from racing other tracks (scotsprst) and I made a mess of my braking. That was exactly the complaint I'd had about other drivers the day before. There was some very "rough play" and a lot of guys pushing through gaps that were not there but nothing worse than I had experienced at SR S with 99 points. The drivers are just as fast and just as capable.

@GhostCaliber: Regarding age and GT Sport player profile I suppose car games probably appeal to an older crew? As @Sven Jurgens says my son can kick my ass on Fortnite but has no interest in any car games (unless Rocket League counts?). Just to make you feel like a total baby tough...and to send the others here down memory lane...who else here started their gaming career in the 1970's on "Pong"? Atari 2600 "Defender", "Berzerk", "Asteroids" and "Pole Position". I played a space flight sim called "Elite" on the Comodore 64 & Amiga 2000 in the 80's. Got a real interest in motor race games with "TOCA Touring Cars" on PS1. I tended to enjoy using a space ship or machine of some sort in my "blowey up games" so Mech Warrior on PC in the 90's (similar to the more recent Titan Fall on PS4) was great. Plenty of FPS games too; DOOM in the 90's, Resident Evil and later F.E.A.R. in the naughties. I played the hell out of a space combat sim called "Freelancer" (very similar to "Elite" from the 80's) from 2002/2003 for about 5 yeas including helping build mods and admin a server. But I always end up back on a track. It's much cheaper than having to keep a real race car going I suppose.
FREELANCER!!!! Wow does that ever bring back some memories. I played that game for years! Are there any games on console that are remotely similar?

Seems like a bunch of us have a similar story lol. I just turned 34 last month....first game I remember playing was, iirc, Top Gear on SNES. Everyone drove generic looking F40s, you unlocked new paints and upgrades as you won races. I also remember playing some sort of Ivan Tedesco TRD Baja 1000 game. When I was slightly older, I put a lot of quarters into San Fransisco Rush. I also remember playing a lot of Twisted Metal, Destruction Derby, Vigilante 8, Carmageddon, and of course GTA. Aside from driving games, I put a ton of hours into flying and space flying games, like Freelancer, and Ace Combat, as well as games like ATV Offroad Fury, Sledstorm, Motocross games, Need4Speed, Test Drive...anything where you drive a vehicle. When I play battlefield games with friends, I pretty much camp the vehicles the whole time

Good to meet you "lancer". Presuming you played online it would probably have been user mods like Discovery. The game code was made open to users and unbelievably we were given nearly full access to play with the code as we wished. I was an admin on "The Monkey Universe" Freelancer mod for years. It is a very small genre. Most "space games" are not combat sims but tactical games. No idea what's about in that genre now as I'm away from it over 10 years (yeiks). Unfortunately I can't drive a GT3 car as quick as I could fly a Dagger.

Gonna try no stopping Le Mans in the LM55 again. Has anyone else no stopped that race at least on fuel? The LM55 can make it on tires (not sure about other cars) but I had to limp home on fuel on my first try. This time I'll try a more consistent hypermiling strategy.
That is my car of choice and yes, I always no stop. The key for me is short shifting. Once the car starts redlining I shift. Also, move fuel ratio to 3 on the 2 long straights once I get to about 200mph. I always have enough gas remaining at the end of the race. Just remember, if you use 20% fuel per lap you'll be in good shape.

Now to race in the LM and be competitive for a podium may be a different story. I went from 12th (haven't set a qualy time) to 6th last night and was 20 seconds behind 5th. I barely finished the race in the time allotted.

Hold up what? what cheat is this...
You can drive through the chicane before the starting line at full throttle, allowing you to start your qualifying lap at a much higher speed than normal. You can't just drive up there and do it, though. There's a 2 step process to make it work. ;)

@TheMoose, I sure hope that C race with N200 one-make cars is the S2000. 👍

Guessing its going to be the Miata Touring Car..
I'm not sure if the settings are exactly the same, but I'm 97% sure they are...
Very uncreative choices IMO...

Will still race a few times, but I can already see the constant barging from frustrated drivers due to the lack of overtaking opportunities..

I'll make you a video, but I'm not endorsing this "Track Hack".

*Edit. Oh, what the hell. I put it up for everybody to see. It's up to each person to choose to either use it, or not.

Maybe some exposure will catch the attention of the right people, and get it fixed. I guess we'll find out if they're watching, by seeing whether, or not it still works, next time we have a race at Lemans. 👍

Slip streak weak? Watch your mirrors.

looks like i better practice for brands. I still don't trust that track. But back to this week, anyone know the track limit for arnage? Corner short or long i get a penalty if i am not exactly on line? even set my best qually with a penalty.
