You need to stop, put your safety triangles out and provide assistance!

The game is stupid, a yellow flag from an accident further ahead can cause you to get penalties for passing a new accident, other cars running off the road. It's the most pointless penalty that I've never seen applied correctly. Often you can't even respond as the yellow flag is only up for an instant and any unlucky position change when you're right next to another car will get you the penalty.

Meanwhile still in SR.B, I did get two clean race bonuses in a row before getting hit with a bs penalty again lol.

Ok this is clearly Toyota's fault then for not leaving space in the TS050 for a proper safety triangle kit.

You can collect the orange cones on your bumper, to use just in case! Once I drove around with a huge barrier on my hood for a couple hundred meters at Monza after someone crashed into them at the chicane. I couldn't see much, but had my safety barrier with me!

Finished!

2 races today, 2 podiums

New QT 8:09.xxx

Got in an evening Race B. Started 5th. Finished 7th. Entire grid finished blue. 👍

I messed up going down a chicane, steered into a wall to get out of the way and it ghosts me in the worst spot. Hidden from view, blind corner, downhill, right in the middle. Poor cars behind me. I wish it wouldn't do that.

SR.B is mostly clean, yet sometimes it's complete chaos.

I'm getting lots of practice tonight dealing with this stuff. SR at 42 currently.

Scratch that SR now 33. I forgot how bad night racing is. 2 cars battling in front of me, racking up the penalties, with traffic pushing from behind. One of the hits between the two left me no where to dodge, I touched the spin out and got a penalty. Plus a lot of SR Downs from the clowns behind me.

Ending the night with a 5th place and clean race bonus. Although getting rammed at least 5 times. +9 SR to 42.

I keep meeting people down here who I normally race in SR.S. Clean drivers, also victim of the penalty system, now driving with those with an average SR of 30.

Sven, you have the patience of a saint dealing with the Race B lobbies. Utter chaos. The person at PD who scheduled that track this week must have a penchant for other's suffering.

...it does look fun if you don't care about your SR though
Nordschleife is the most exciting track, how dare you?!! Honestly, would you prefer 5 laps in the same track over and over, or 1 lap at Nordschleife? When Nordschleife or Sarthe show up in Sport mode, it suddenly makes me happy.

I'd replace Sven's videos with racing etiquette section in sport mode, therefore, people would stop playing like this game is the carmageddon

Not that I've completed many sport mode races, but the current Nürburgring combo seems to suit me, had an SR drop to 97 yesterday, but I fumbled my controller whilst braking for Aremberg and tapped somebody, so that was on me.

There is a Colosseum type grandeur about these types of circuit I give you that. But the problem with Nordschleife and Le Mans is the time it takes to get average at them. Let alone!

In the time it takes me to do 1 lap of the ring I can do 5-6 elsewhere.

In an hour's session I can do about 30 laps of a.n.other track, which is some solid repetition and referencing. In an hour around the ring that's 7 laps max... That doesn't ready help me.

I can see why a lot of people don't Qualify for it now. Just takes too long.

Incidentally - for those wanting a point-point race... See Nordschleife 1 Lappers!

Anyone mind explaining how this was a double penalty? (3s x2 for overtaking on yellow?) The four drivers I overtook were all out of control and off the track or ghosted.

Speaking of stupid penalties. This has reminded me of one I got at Autopolis, in the SuperGT race. Following a guy through the final corner, under yellows. He pulls off into the pits.

I got landed with a penalty for, I'd assume, not jumping on the brakes.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. The germans took my DR. No, just kidding. Had an interesting night. Did a couple of races on race B to fill time before a race C and try to take a clean lap from the back. First race, all good, until I tapped the brakes tomstart slowing down heading into the final curves when the car took a hard left for no reason? Wall hit, 5 sec penalty, but people too far behind me to take advantage, so some SR gain, but barely. Next race, tap city, otherwise clean though.

So let's try Sarthe. Ummm, yeah. Tried the peugot and was up to 3rd despite 2 deliberate takeout attempts because I dared to pass them on the straight, when I was running 3rd and noticd that despite fuel mix 2 and lots of short shifting I was on 0.6 laps fuel heading to the last lap so I tried to pit for the first time . . . . and found the wall. Tried again next race in the META again and after screwing up the first turn and accidentally slamming the guy in front, letting him by and then his revenge punt into the first chicane (no penalty for him although I got 3 for punting him) it calmed down. I got a penalty at Arnage, but I was waaay wide. Ended up 4th as for some reason everyone was pitting, even the toyotas in front of me? Got DR from it though my SR was ugly.

Tried the nord again and paid dearly. Got punted at the first turn BEFORE the start line?!?! This pretty much continued for quite a while. Should have just quit but I was expecting others to crash. No such luck. Spent a long stretch through the forest side by side with anguy who would consistently leave me 1/2 a car width and tap me if I tried to stay on track, but he's a D driver so no penalty for pushing me off. Finally backed out and wrecked myself doing it. Still have a 1 pt SR gain for the night, but some confusing ugly racing. The last 2 weeks have pulled some weird disasters with lots of people who usually stay high SR. No matter what I do it won't go up unless I quit all racing and just quietly lap at the back.

Got to admit the racing hasn't actually changed a drastic amount, but the track combos are making it hairy.

Looks like a week of Brands Hatch for me, with a small possiblity I'll dip my toe in at Suzuka.

How on Earth did the top 2 Japanese players hit those insane laptimes at the Nordschleife? I had a few laps earlier and got down in 8'04's with maybe a second or 2 left with more effort but a 7'57?? both the top 2 are 2 seconds clear of 3rd place.. Now c'mon what the heck are those guys on? I want some :D Amazing laptimes! I'd love to watch 1st place to see how it should be done and if he ever uses his brakes 👍

Well I got there because the SR.S lobby wasn't any better :banghead: It really is more the time of day / week than SR that determines whether the race will be chaos like that or a clean tight battle. The problem is that the SR haul is so low in race B that 2 taps from behind is already neutral, 3 taps is losing SR. And starting 'last' means starting behind the slowest qualifier with impatient non qualifiers behind me.

It is indeed fun if you don't care bout SR/DR, I've got surviving until the start line down so far. And if you do get bumped hard at the turn right before the start line, go wide, you don't lose any time and it triggers a penalty for the car that hit you. The race I just did had a Brazilian with 18 sec in penalties already at the middle straight, fighting an American with 8 seconds. Nord really needs a second penalty zone at the middle straight, although that would probably create more accidents in that high speed section. Perhaps right after the turn on the way to karoussel.

Lol getting matched with SR.E now. One gave me a 3 sec penalty with a dive bomb, the game didn't even say what for, for entering the track with idiots I guess. I got to 3rd despite the penalty, but SR down a bit again. DR 28k, SR 44. I wonder if I the game penalizes you more based on DR points or only on the DR grade. Penalties get worse in DR.A yet I won't get DR.A (in letter) when SR won't get past B.

Down to 32 SR, Brazilians.... Down in SR.B most are really bad drivers. Intentional or not, the difference with an American is, an American knows when they have been caught, a Brazilian will rather die than give up a position. Definitely not the same for every one but the difference does tend to stand out in SR.B. 7 Brazilians in the next race, DR reset incoming :nervous:

+3 SE to 35. Only 1 Brazilian didn't have a penalty, to be fair only 2 others beside me didn't have any penalties. The same Brazilian that has been ramming me the past 2 days, rammed me off again. He tried to side swipe me on the straight after serving his penalty but failed and dove into the wall lol. I've reported him a dozen times already, no effect. Another race without DR reset!

He was there again in the next race, I followed him at a safe distance, he rammed another Brazilian off the road and got 3 sec penalty. Then he tried to brake check me about 5 times, going so slow at some point 2 others caught up and passed on the straight. He left to SR.D now, I'm back in SR.B with clean race bonus +7 SR, 42. Perhaps a little break from this idiot.

Back down to 33 SR. A different Brazilian, got me 3 times and others as well with his continuous brake checking. He finished ahead with blue SR. So if these SR Down for the car ahead doesn't even work to stop brake checking, wth is it in the game???

Two Race B tonight on alt account, SR blue (remains at 99), DR up 700. Alt is DR D (only done a few days racing on it).
First race was no qual, started P13 of 14 finished P9. It's hard to pass when the two cars in front insist on polishing each others door handles...
2nd race, figured I was so much faster than the back of the field it might be worth qualifying, had time for just one lap and ran 8:27.xxx, good enough for 4th on the grid. P1 was out of my league, and P2/3 should have been too, but they persisted in slowing each other down the whole race. They'd pulled about a 2.5s gap on me by the long straight, but did so much weaving about trying to break / keep slipstream that I was less than a second down under the second bridge, then they both outbraked themselves on the third last corner allowing me to sneak a 3rd place :)

The thing I'm most pleased about - two consecutive races at the 'ring with a blue S on the finish board.

How on Earth did the top 2 Japanese players hit those insane laptimes at the Nordschleife?
In GT5 or GT6 career mode there was an endurance race at the 'ring if memory serves correctly (GT5 I think). I like endurance racing and I got to know that track pretty damn well after a few long races there. I'll never be that fast though..

If they’ve got you guessing, then none of us mere mortals stand a hope in hell of ever figuring it out.

@sturk0167 or anyone else in the Oceana region, any chance we can get a replay uploaded for reference? :)

Yeah, I can do that. Most Asians are probably asleep, right now.
I wanted to watch the lap from the world's #1 at la Sarthe (Japanese player) and his lap replay wasn't available. :grumpy:
I'll fire up the console and get you a replay. 👍

7:57 is absolutely insane   I was pleased with myself when I did an 8:10.5 last night.

I remember back in GT5 & 6, I met a couple of Japanese players while doing Wangan racing on SSR7. They were driving max HP RUFs and Supras on SH tires, and I couldn’t believe how fast they were. I joined them in a Nordschleife lobby a few times as well, and same thing, tons of HP, SH tires, and crazy fast. One of those 7:57 guys isn’t named Hatty_Windy or something like that, is he?

Now scrapping the barrel with SR B and only 54 points I feel PD have created a monster in me.
By dumping me by 30 SR points in 1 race the other day after a career of being an SR S driver it's like they've just given class A drugs to a school kid and he's suddenly off his rocks for the first time.

I took a sneaky few minutes this morning before work to do a Race A. Nobody else online at 7 on a Friday morning so the lobby had me on pole with 2nd place over 1.5 secs off my quali. Standards were so poor there was a DR E driver in the field. Now if only I can survive T1 I can run from flag to flag in time trial mode for a win. No such bloody luck. I was hit by the cars in 2nd, 3rd and 4th going off the track and 10th, 11th and 12th try to get back on. The problem for them was the nasty sod that has been living inside me decided return a little of the SR B hospitality and barge my way back to the front. It was the most enjoyable race in ages going from 12th to 2nd (could not get 1st back). They literally brake checked, swerved and punted at every opportunity. I took great pleasure in giving as good as I was getting. Sorry folks, it's totally unsportsmanlike and definitely not "making myself look good" but when a DR E driver in a Megane witha quali time 5 seconds slower than you takes it personally when you pass him you've got to stand up for yourself.:mischievous:

I promise to remove the "GT Planet" decals from my livery so you lot don't have to account for my actions.:D

Had three great races to start my day today.

First race i started pole with and had the second and third place guys right on my tail up to (goes to geta map) aremberg. I almost lost it on this turn in both of my first two races. One got by the other tucked in behind me. Then managed a nice move to by by at adenaurfrost. The trhee of us ran hard but clean till the end. One of them had picked up a .5 for track limits so i was in second and willing to just hold it but the other guy pulls a hard stop just before the line to give me the win??

Second race was not as exciting. Same start but aftdr i messed up aremberg i was in 5th this time. Had to follow a slow and sloppy driver the whole rest of the race and watch the leaders drive away. This guy was slower than i on most corners and drifting others so i couldn't pass without significant risk to us both. Very frustrating, but i stayed clean and got him on the straight cuse he had picked up a penalty he had picked up fairly early on. Is it wrong that i felt he should have let me by when i was clearly faster and he had a penalty to serve? Or at least not be clearly trying to keep me behind him. Half was defensive lines the other was definitely blocking and the handfull of drifts. Meh whatever....

Third race was amazing. Had an excellent three way battle going for the whole race pretty much. Tight line 1,2,3, and a gap to fourth by the time qe hit aremberg which i didn't mess up this time. We stayed like that till wehrsiefen which he got through just bit fast than me and i guesz he figuered he could trust me and if he didn't start to get aggressive he wasn't getting by. So he pulls up on me to take the little bridge on the ouside line, i couldn't believe what i was seeing... but focused on giving room but still keeping as much speed as possible. We traded a little paint as we took the next two turns side by side. He got the lead into bergwerk but i came out of it a bit faster with 3rd place right on my but. It was a crazy drag race to mutkerve and i somehow got the lead. I managed to build a gap from the karussell on to the win, but i think only for luck, they musta bumped eachother at some point. Either way one of the most intense and enjoyable races i have had.

Happy friday mo fo's

I just noticed all the typos, sorry done on my phone with fat thumbs lol
