Ok, here ya go. Remember, I'm not suggesting that people do this. I'm only attempting to expose a track hack, so it might get fixed (like
@Pigems did with the brake pedal thing at Maggiore).
I didn't have to say anything, because I discovered it on my own, at the last Lemans race. I don't exactly remember how, but I do like screwing around with the cones.
In the clip, you'll see that the first attempt to cut the chicane does not work. A 3 second penalty is awarded.
In the next attempt, I knock the 2 cones away, and backtrack to a good starting spot. I hit the throttle and follow the same line that I did in the first attempt. No penalty, and a super fast start to the Q lap.
I have no idea why it works, it just does.
**When you come back around, to finish the lap, it doesn't work. You'll get a penalty if you try the same shortcut.
My best theory is that, you know how if you exceed track limits, but do it really slowly, you don't get a time penalty? In the demonstration, I exceed track limits when taking out the cones. I think the game knows that you committed a foul, but since you did it slowly, doesn't issue a time penalty, since you didn't gain an advantage in doing so. Then if you back up, and hit the same corner again, on the same lap, it doesn't think to give a penalty for violating the same rules on the same corner, on the same lap.
Or, something like that. Not really sure. Somebody else might have the answer.
I haven't tried it at other tracks.
I guarantee that somebody's gonna try this.
