@Mr P, here's the world's #1 lap (Japanese) at Nordschleife.
I haven't tried race B this week, because I'm spending all my time at Lemans. Watching this video, I'd say it looks really easy to get under 8 minutes.
Another thing I'll say is that this dude definitely uses the whole track, and also has no fear of the grass.

*Note; His odometer is over 1,000 miles! It's safe to say that he's done tons of laps in that car.

Enjoy :)

I don't know why, but the car freezes at the finish line. I've seen that many times.

Wow the last race I was in was total Carmageddon. I started in the back, ended up with two BS penalties totalling 4 sec, but really can't blame the penalty system for not being able to make any sense out of it. 5 wide on the Nord doesn't work  I escaped the carnage in 4th, got a lead of over 13 sec on the battling backfield by the straight and lost about 8 seconds from the 4 sec penalty, thus kept my place. I almost had 3rd since he managed to get another 5 sec penalty before the finish line.

Down to 42 SR, was 63 when I started this evening. DR still going up. Racing around 7pm EST is always interesting :boggled:

Lol from 2nd to 5th in the final section from a Brazilian dive bomb, who finished second without a penalty. Sure PD, everyone works fine. SR up to 45 now!

Sounds like the race I was in with you. I saved the replay from my point of view. the carnage was in front of me and I ended up doing a full send on the grass to pass a guy and then came up beside you and we banged doors. I havent watched it to see if it was my fault but it probably was lol. I will upload the video when i get home.

Back down to 33 SR. A different Brazilian, got me 3 times and others as well with his continuous brake checking. He finished ahead with blue SR. So if these SR Down for the car ahead doesn't even work to stop brake checking, wth is it in the game???
That's weird. When someone brake checked me multiple times over at Tokyo East last week, his SR went to hell. Then again, so did mine. :P

@sturk0167 i only watched the first 2 minutes and already see at least one move i need to do to be faster. Thank you very much for sharing that sir

Also milage is semi meaningless. It's a garage car so thats lifetime miles for that car, possibly not all on the ring. I have over 3200km on mine lol thats ummm.... nearly 2000 miles. And almost all of that is on the ring between the last time and this that we have had it dailys lol

You beat me... but this one's bumper cam view so I'm linking it anyway.

Holy cow that's quick.

Stays in 4th gear a lot more than others I've seen. Lots to copy. Thanks for posting the videos. 👍

There is a Colosseum type grandeur about these types of circuit I give you that. But the problem with Nordschleife and Le Mans is the time it takes to get average at them. Let alone!

In the time it takes me to do 1 lap of the ring I can do 5-6 elsewhere.

In an hour's session I can do about 30 laps of a.n.other track, which is some solid repetition and referencing. In an hour around the ring that's 7 laps max... That doesn't ready help me.

I can see why a lot of people don't Qualify for it now. Just takes too long.

Incidentally - for those wanting a point-point race... See Nordschleife 1 Lappers!
I see your point, but I'm more like a WRC guy rather than F1, so longer sprint races are better imo instead of multi lap circuit races.(24H of Le Mans excluded, that's special one.)

here is the carmageddon video from what i believe is the race sven was talking about yesterday.

Had a bunch more great races. Same guys with me up front all morning, some wins some podiums dr is up to 41,349 before last race, site wont load for me now...

This game is like crack when you get the kind of racing i have had this week. Seriously, i say just one more like 5 times every morning.....

You get away with a lot at SR.C and below. He finished with a blue D I think :ouch:

That's a 2 wheels on the road approach, awesome lap. Now I see how to take flugplatz full out. Too bad I'll never get to use it as I'm always behind unsure traffic at that point

@sturk0167 Online save took forever when I started the game and KP is down (or rather the GT servers) so yep server is having issues.

Well I was at 50 SR, got a good race with clean race bonus, then the next race was a royal rumble again and I ended back down in SR.C with 8 sec in penalties.

@Stencedaddy I didn't expect you coming from behind the other car there lol, I tried to hold the inside but the car in the middle forced me half on the grass. 3 wide on the Nord  What a mess that race was. Oh and Fridays aren't any cleaner in SR.B :/

That's been me with the B race. Start in the front, and I've had some good racing with the folks in 2nd and 3rd place. Last race I completed, I raced with someone who I raced with a few times on the B race, and another person who I raced with for the first time this week. Throughout the entire race, all three of us were within 1.5 seconds (total) apart from each other. 2nd and 3rd (me) finished a total of 0.7 seconds behind 1st place.

I think I saw you a couple times in Race B last night. Pretty sure you were usually in the group ahead of me though, I’ve been spending most of my races slugging it out for 4th through 7th.

I agree though, for how much of a mess the Nordschleife can be, I’ve had some really clean and fun races so far this week (after I qualified and stopped starting at the back...good grief it’s bad back there).

Mission 3:22 at LM resumes this afternoon. This may kill me.
Just done mine with a 3:22.7 in the Toyota.

The problem with setting missions like this though is, I had an optimum of 3:22.089 after setting my first legal sub 3:23, and then proceeded to beat my best first sector time by over 0.1s (was 0.25s up on my best lap) before immediately invalidating it at Tertre Rouge. Which of course means there's actually an optimum in the 3:21s, so mission 3:21 begins tomorrow!:banghead:

SR down to 27. I guess I'll qualify tomorrow as the races will only get dirtier. It's full on carmageddon now the schools are out. It's hard to get a race without ending up with a BS penalty with people starting behind you. There's no where to go in the first section and all they have to do is touch you and go off or cut the esses. The rest of the race is still good and I make up plenty positions, but well perhaps I should force a standing start again to get a clean race...

Wasn't needed, only one car behind me who I trust. I got to 2nd place from 10th with clean race bonus +10 SR with the boost at SR.C to 37. Still SR.C.

And disconnected at the start of the next race, thus -5 SR to 32. I'm going to get my axe and chop for a bit :banghead:

Thank you very much fellas, that’s one helluva lap.

I salute you!

I have a 3:22.1 Opt but still don't have a lap in the 3:22s!!!

If you have an optimum in the low 3:22s you know it's there as long as you haven't had a couple of blistering sectors that you can't get near again. Have a break, smash it next effort. Surprising how often I can bang my head against a brick wall for two hours trying to get a time, then show up next day or something and almost immediately get what I spent an age trying for

Finally finished first at Lemans. Overall race time was 17:29, which I'm pretty happy with, considering I made a stop for fuel. My best estimation puts the time lost during a splash and go pit stop at around 7 seconds. I think it's so low because you get to skip 2 chicanes.
Clean race is worth 10 SR points.

Thanks for going out of your way to share those vids for all to see Sturk0167 and The_Tullster  The staying in a higher gear style driving pays off crazily at the Nurb as that vid shows!! I know I can improve my time with ease after watching that.. It almost looked like a different game the way it was so fast haha

Thanks again guys! 👍

431 miles later. 3:22.6

I can be miles ahead of the ghost and then lose it in the Corvette curves and Ford chicane.

The flashing red "track limit" warning is burned into my TV.

I've an opt. of 3:21.7 now.

I cannot see 3:17!

I haven't bothered to look at the top 10 this week but have done a few laps in the toyota - no quali style. My guess.... Its all in the braking, early acceleration down the long straights and being able to carry speed through the last few twisty sections bu that probably doesn't help at all.

Pretty much. Putting together a good lap is the big challenge. I'm nowhere near in the Alpine. I can do the sectors to give a 3:21, I can't do the lap.

Got home before the wife and snuck in a race before starting dinner. Was a nice run, pole to checkers with a guy i believe is on here. The judas priest livery looked familiar at least. He stayed within a second of me the whole way, i would pull a bit more but he would get back on the next few turns. Was .6 to 1.0 behind the whole time which made it hard to know what to do at karussell, but i stayed strong and hoped for a clean ending either way. We came onto the big straight at exactly a second gap, it was just enough for him to not be able to pass before the final turns. I managed not to mess up the last few turns and hold on to win.

If your reading this, that was a great race and it was a pleasure to share the track with you my friend.:gtpflag:
