Races have been generally very good in SR.B on the Nord. I'm making up an average of 7 positions per race with a clean race bonus here and there. Gaining SR is very slow though. There was a race were 2 drivers were going flat out beserk at each other (pole and 2nd) fighting down through the pack taking pretty much everyone out and dishing out some BS penalties as well. I got one of those. The culprits left to SR.E and SR.C with 20 sec in penalties.

Btw, one of them apologized later in private message, the one that went to SR.C, and said it would not happen again. The hot head that left for SR.E came back a couple races later for easy pole to flag victories. He probably did a race C to go from SR.E to SR.B in a single race with a pole to flag run away. Some people can only hot lap, no race craft, and if they get challenged you get rammed.

Other than that, most races still have the SR Down for getting tapped from behind. It seems a lot of people confuse racing for a game of tag :lol: So with only a couple BS penalties, bunch of clean race bonuses and generally blue SR races, still only at 57 SR lol. At +2 SR per race it takes forever. DR back up to 19K after the reset to 7K last night.

Last race before heading out, victory from 8th place :)

Not the fastest lap. 2nd place (finisher) binned it at the end, I avoided his ghost and got a 1 sec shortcut penalty for my efforts. If he had simply stayed behind me he would have won, but he had to dive bomb me in the final turn and got a 3 sec penalty. +4 SR, to 61!

Uploading the replay, it was a tight fast race.

That's a fantastic effort though, smashing it!

I might have a real push tomorrow, maybe in the Alpine, won't get any more chances today and want to attempt Manufacturers later in the last race... after a few pints!! :boggled:

Just grinding it out. Probably the most time I've put in to La Sarthe since one of the early updates. Time trialling rather than racing is a bit of a shame but can't be doing with being 8 seconds off #1

@Sven Jurgens bumper riding is a serious skill that i have worked very hard on, many people think they can do it and have no idea what they are doing. Timing and pedal control as well as ultimate trust in your opponent and your knowledge of what he is going to do. I only do it to certain people, but when i do, prepare for a mirror full of my bumper for as long as i can keep up lol

Amazing racing all day so far, i have real life stuff i should be doing but i cant stop with the quality of racing at hand. The servers might be about to start messsing up though. The companion app and kudos wont load.....

Well, that was an amazing day of racing. I was in every race since i started this morning till the 5:10. I was supposed to get a bunch of real life accomplished today but the racing was just to good to walk away from and none of the stuff was to important it cant wait till tomorrow tbh.

I don't know what i can say really. the whole day is just a blur of racing @BenRod was in a couple at one point. no incidents to speak of, no crazy moves, nothing, just wall to wall solid smart clean races today. AMAZING!!!!


Edit: also had @morfastmadboy in a bunch of races, did not realise you were on here sir. Great racing today, a pleasure sharing the track with you

Happened to me a few times since the last update. Sometimes when I open GT after being in rest mode, I see it. Restarting the game fixes it.

Not sure on the exact cause. Maybe connection/server sync issues...?

Kind of scary; like if the servers got pulled. :nervous:

It’s back now, I just exited Sport Mode and re entered. Weird though, that’s never happened before.
 
I'm signed up for the next race B in a few minutes, it's working here.
Back to the Nord! Is my SR going further up, or back down in the evening mayhem.

The latter, total destruction derby. The Argentinian starting behind me set it off with a dive bomb, earned him 2 sec which he increased to 10 sec with a whole bunch more punts and rams riling up the rest to do the same. I somehow survived getting any penalties from all the cars battling and brake checking around me and finished 4th with neutral SR. Complete reversal with races this morning. Battle armor on.

Been really clever and boosted my DR by about 4k with three races at Le Mans taking all steps on the podium in descending order, basically all time trials as I was either in the lead or behind super quick guys and gave myself a buffer by nabbing an early track limits penalty! - time to go into manufacturers.

The last two races had @Leftcurl in, who did reasonably well in them by the looks of it. Even though held up by a mad start in the final race where 4th binned it on the start line costing him 9s, but didn't get overtaken because 5th seemed to have disconnected and held up everyone behind him!

I did come out of that quite nicely and managed some good consistant laps - only to balls it up in the next race starting p7 and finishing p9... penalties galore!!

Need the site back up. Had a great race at Sarthe to show my kids that I am ok at the game. Started 11th, finished 6th. Only made 1 pass all race, watched everyone else including a smash and bash enemy I have faced before get penalties and then crash trying to set a qualification lap instead of racing. Got a clean race bonus as well. Now to figure out if beating all those other B drivers was a bonus or if they were below me. Did something like this a few weeks ago, excited, but only to find out I was highest ranked B in field so almost no points.
 
I somehow made it back to SR.S after all, racing from the back on Nord without compromising. I can't see where I'm at now since the server is down, yet B/S again. And lo and behold, SR.S is dirtier than SR.B confirmed. SR.B is chaos but in SR.S you get these kind of people.

He bumped me off 3 times in the race before with dumb pass attempts while I'm behind traffic. (he qualified ahead but crashed, typical impatient getting back to the front). He ended up with 0.5 shortcut + 2 sec from one of the times he bumped me off, so that's how he reacted in the next race when I got close. Yeah, I gave him a penalty when he tried to squeeze me off again, cost me more time though, he still finished ahead.

It was nice not having to deal with these kind of shenanigans for a week in SR.B. Back to SR.S dirty.

Next race a botched start, which goes terribly wrong in SR.S. Shunting, too early braking plus no braking and a mass off cars pinballs to the starting line. The problem was, one driver couldn't see anyone else on the track which also means his car was immune to contact but could dish it out to everyone else. He went full speed through the standing start pile up punting cars out of the way left and right... Nice bug PD. He said he had that bug as well in nations and won't be racing until he can fix it. I ended up with 4 sec penalty and I'm back in SR.A :banghead:

And now disconnect during matchmaking. What's going on PD, are the servers on fire? Nothing works anymore :banghead:

While making dinner and waiting for servers to come back up I can say that for a stress test I can suggest doing this week's race C with my kids trying to distract you. Nothing like rolling up to indianapolis or the chicanes when a voice shouts in your ear "YOU NEED SOME MILK!" And runs away giggling. PD needs to give me bonus points for a clean race through that mess.
 
I did Race C this week and here is my fastest race I could make. I believe if I could keep trying I would eventually break the sub 17min race time.
Track limit penalties would really give us a headache untill we kind of found out how to not get them, but it was always hard not to get one in the race.
This race was without mistakes though, making an average lap of about 3:23.1. Race time to be exact was 17:00.709.
 
The Audi Gr.1 is a real challenge to drive but frustrating as you can't just continuously hotlap it as you drain the hybrid and it is really difficult to recharge it fully for a fast lap. It's basically: Fast lap and then hit retry. Really adds to the difficulty level.
 
I made it to 91 SR at the Nord, into the 'pro' SR.S room. Ugh. First a track re-entry doesn't pay attention and moves over at slow speed, sorry can't brake that fast, 1 sec penalty. Then onto the straight the car in front of me loses control spins out and clips me, I get another sec while serving the first second. Then 2 wide down the final section with another car in front. The car in front loses control goes into a slide, can't avoid with the other car next to me, another 2 sec. Back down to SR.A after that, 69 SR. SR.S is the worst! Bumps and losing control all over the place.

Finished 3rd in SR.A but got bumped 3 times, 68 SR left. This made me jump at the end.

He was blocking my pass and went extremely slow through the end. I guess he pissed the wrong guy during the race :lol:

Next race, Brazilian from earlier in the week started on pole. He messes up and decides to ram me off the track since his race isn't going well. He gets a penalty and I'm in 3rd on the straight closing in on 2nd. 2nd loses control down the end, goes wildly fish tailing sliding over the place. I do my best to avoid him, get 0.5 sec shortcut penalty plus another 3 sec as one of his wild oscillations touches me. I finish 4th. 66 SR left.

Next, total destruction derby race. Many left to SR.C after that. I manage to escape the penalties but get some SR Downs from getting rammed along the way. I finish 3rd, 65 SR left.

A dirty Canadian poses a problem in the next one. He blocks then bumps me off when I get a run on him, I get SR Down. He messes up later and moves over to block, I get 0.5 sec shortcut penalty for evading. Luckily he quickly falls back after that. I finish 5th, +2 SR!!! Finally blue!
