I see the online is still ****.
Mitsubishi MR at Suzuka with people not knowing how to drive, hitting walls but at the minimum contact, I get penalized.
Getting hit from the side, points off.
Getting hit off track, no penalties for them.
The online is useless to take it serious.
Then get good, set a great qualify time, start first, avoid the first dive bomb and take home the W. What's so hard about that?

Man, I had such a good lap going. That was my 33.4 Ghost way off in the distance.

Edit: I did end up beating my lap, but I still think I was on a better run on the lap I wrecked lol. Oh well, them’s the breaks eh. :)

This is where I ended up for the night, still a bit more to go on all three. :)

Any crossplay racing games between ps4 and PC? I wanna play something with my cousin. I find it odd that shooting games are crossplay but a racing game where theres no significant advantage isn't.

Edit; whoops, wrong thread

I entered the Megane Trophy race with the alt meta 4C and ended up in the strongest lobby I have seen in months. I was the only B/S player in there with door number 16. It was my first race so I'm slow, familiarizing myself with the track again. I passed a few crashes who passed me again, one blatantly shoving me off the road without getting a penalty. No SR Down for me either, whatever. I finished 15th with 6 seconds to spare lol.

Brand's hatch, normally a favorite, feels so dull after the Nordschleife, anything would yet GR.4 doesn't help much either. One more hatch then Snoorzuka at the half hour. I want to try the car, hope I don't nod off before the race is over :)

Second hatch race I get in a full B/S lobby with one A/S driver. I finish 10th, beating the A/S driver, clean race bonus. It's clear hatch is the popular choice this week, too bad GR.4 is rather dull on this track and with 4 laps and a huge wait in between, not all that interesting for racing from the back.

Suzuka has the usual nonsense spread of A+/S to D/S, I'm starting 14th and the nr.1 on the leaderboard is on pole. The S2000 is pretty relaxing to drive, by yourself that is. As soon as there is a car drafting me the bumper tapping begins trying to force me wide. SR Down for me, luckily the race has plenty SR so it doesn't matter, but CRB is no option. And of course I get pushed off a couple times. I was set to finish 8th but a Brazilian nose worked itself on my inside on the final high speed turn and simply used me to make the corner pushing me over the green stuff. No penalty for him, 10th place for me.

Yeah this week is looking like a bit of a dud. No man's sky is loading.

I disagree online is useless (that's simply not true) but I can relate to your Tsukuba experience. I was bumped and nudged off the track several times with me being on receiving end of SR downs. I put it down to a few things: It's the first day so people are adjusting to the track and car. It isn't the easiest of cars to drive since handling isn't particularly great and especially around a track like this. Maybe people bumped you by accident.

A bad race can happen, give it another shot. If you're dismissing online after one race then I don't know what to say to you.

L.M.A.O
So two consecutive races failing the first turn on Brands Hatch.
Then doing brilliantly in my third race and bam! my stupid modem lost internet connection.
I WILL finish this race tonight!

Finally, did Brands Hatch in the Cayman GT4 Clubsport 16.

Had a near perfect 4 laps.
I say near because the first turn always screws me up. I either stop too soon or too late.
Very rarely hit it just before the Apex and accelerate on through it.
Had two guys go off track while battling it up and in the last lap, a guy tried to bump me off track but managed to keep my line and maintain my position.
Oh and still this game has a very bad issue handling SR downs.

Like, get bumped from behind, SR down.
Slightly tap the opponent in front, SR down to me as well.

Yeah this week is looking like a bit of a dud. No man's sky is loading.

my thoughts exactly... tried a few qualy laps for Race B in MegTrophy and 4C but ended up sticking with my meta pocket rocket - Megane Gr4... started 13th with 1:30.9xx i think and full of A/A+/S and a few B's... it was just a trainline for 4 laps and i gained 2 places finishing 11th ahead of an A+ and LOST 57DR?!?! Must have been some lower B's ahead of me maybe, I dunno.
But that was that.. maybe i'll go back this week but i'm not chomping at the bit for it. Have we got next weeks races yet? :indiff:

Has something happened with the collection of SR phobic races (combined with my own mistakes) but it seems like within the last few weeks the drivers have really gotten nasty. Got a good lap in at Brands, starting 4th. Make my own slide onto the grass, but save it, only now I am in the pack of D/S drivers at the back of my grid. S my right butt cheek. Cue the barge attacks, swerve block attempts and blatant brake checks. Manage to move back to 13 out of 18 but what a disaster, and lost 11 SR, main causes being speared at the sharp left after the hairpin, but no penalty for either, and some moron attempting to pass on the outside at sheene, spinning off and tapping me as he went, so obviously I caused it.

Second race wasn't much better, fast and clean behind a driver in 3rd who uses brake checking as a turbo boost exiting the turns. But I am struggling to stop it as I have a train lined behind. Sure enough, I go to pass on the straight and he simply slides me off into grass and I lose it when I slow down and try to get back on, getting rammed but saving it on track. Cue pack chaos again.

Third go I just get sent to Narnia turn 1 lap 1 by some 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who thinks you win the race there, and yeah, I was starting 11th for him to pull this move. After that it was hot laps at the back, catching the pack, but no hope in only 4 laps.

I liked Brands, I do find it rough if you aren't in a rhythm but hell this week has started ugly. I had ben looking forward to this but I think I've only had like 3 clean laps in 3 races. And I WAS trying like hell to nurse my SR up, but no one is having it. Just got disconnected during matchmaking, first ever disconnect like that. Maybe one more to try and end on a nice note. Quality results not needed but a race of cleanish quality would be appreciated.

EDIT: Had one more go, 2 barge passes completed against me on lap 1. No other contact, no penalties and no touching grass. Neutral SR, wtf?

Jumped on this morning all bleary eyed... probably not the best idea! 2 lap practice and off in the first race. Pole, binned it, finished 2nd. This scenario repeated for the next two races but the pace was coming (did a 2:33.0 in clean air on final lap of 3rd race) and my eyes were beginning to focus but the constant mistakes cost me big time.

Fourth race, pole again and while I didn't properly bin it this time, I had a go! And I did what I'd done in a couple of the previous races and broke the slipstream only to run wide at Degner 2 and let them straight back into it (I'm really noticing how the slipstream helps cars stay in touch around this track now, probably worth 3-4 tenths over the lap, maybe more). There is a story to the race but long and short of it is I managed to nick the win after going defensive into the final chicane. He wasn't really close enough to have a lunge up the inside but I wasn't going to give him the opportunity! Had a race time of 17.57 I think, so not shabby at all, will try a few races later when I've properly woken up and dialled myself in!

So four races, three 2nds and a win, DR looking tasty at just under 47k. If I get A+ I might retire!

I must say I'm shocked. Daily B at Brands last night was some of the most fun and most fair racing I've had. Still only at 50 SR points I had 5 races with perhaps 1 orange mark in the each race and still no SR bonus so increasing SR looks to be a mammoth task. Not that I care if the guys at SR B are as good as I've found.

Ironically after a week in the Scirocco at Autopolis I am back in it. The 4C and Megane are fast but in a heated battle if I tip the accelerator that little bit too much (driving with only ABS and no other assists) the tail can let go. In race conditions I'd rather the consistency that the Scirocco give me. It is super in the turns, absolutely stable, FWD less likely to spin and with racing so close what I lose in outright speed is irrelevant because I'm drafting on every straight. All grids were DR B / SR B full. Quali was 1:31:219 putting me 6th to 10 most races. There's at least a second more in that car.

Increased position in all but 1race and on that one I went from 8th to 2nd in two laps but was tipped on the tail on lap 3 and spun out. Still got 6th though so 5 races, 4 top 5 positions and 1 6th. Don't think the guy intended to tip me either and the racing till then was sweet.

I have a vid of me and another car side by side for 4 turns and respecting each other's space. He took me at Surtees but I drafted and got side by side at Hawtorns. We were like that until Sheene. I finally gave in to avoid contact. We swapped places twice more on the next lap. Brilliant evening!

Sill reckon 1 extra lap would make it better but did find the 4 laps were fun.

I think the Suzuka leaderboard is going to be very tightly stacked from high 31 to mid 32. I've an opt of mid 31 but per usual haven't achieved it yet with an actual of 32.0. Must focus on SR accumulating on my back up account this week.

I agree, I was pretty surprised when I saw that Lap was sitting at #11 last night, I didn’t even figure it would have been in the top 100. :)

Many miles driven and grass used more than once. No handbrake though ... :sly:
P7 on Tsukuba :cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers: !

Think i’ll have to try that little run wider trick and go over the green astro turf, seems like a good 1 second, currently 1.06:559
finding the braking point for the second corner and not scrubbing speed and stalling is the hardest part.

Track limits have always been a bit controversial and PD doesn't help out with clear rules.
As long as I can remember a clean run has been 2 wheels on the curbs and no contact at all to me, not because I decided so but because I had heard and read that. I think GTP rules are 2 wheels within the white lines.
It's probably what we are used to and have accepted to be ok.
I wouldn't go with @Pigems here ( though he's a great guy :) ) and say, do what the game allows -
while I'm perfectly ok with using grass on Tsukuba, I'd never dare using that infamous line through Maggiore T4.

So yes, use that astro turf, be a bit more generous with yourself and use the track to the limits ( wherever they are ) ! Grass and astro turf won't give you a second but 3 - 4 tenths maybe.

Speaking of track limits...have the limits on Brands Hatch been a little relaxed or am I just learning to push the limits more? I found the course much more fluid yesterday and was able to hop the kerbs much more without penalty. I always had a wheels on the road so even by RL standards was not breaking rules as much as, for example, Blancpain drivers, but I certainly felt like I was able to push harder without penalty. There were plenty of cars going well onto the astro at Surtees too and getting away with it.

To be fair, I think GT Sport should have the warnings like in RL. Cut 1 corner and get a caution. 2nd for another caution and 3rd for a penalty. Granted, 4 laps of Brands is a bit short but a one or even half second penalty on a race that short is also very tough for 1 minor infraction.

Then get good, set a great qualify time, start first, avoid the first dive bomb and take home the W. What's so hard about that?

This statement ^^^^ reeks of arrogance.

Anyway.

I thought Race A was good fun. That's a fun car to throw around on that track. I was pleasantly surprised.

Race B, love Brands Hatch. I did a nonqualifier, started from the back and managed to make up 7 spots. Yet, still lost DR. Go figure. But still fun.

It could very well be. Track limits were very relaxed at the Nordschleife last week with only a few places still being strict if you carried enough speed. Brand's hasn't been that strict though, westfield and dingle dell were always very forgiving.

I wish GTS would enforce 2 wheels inside the white lines at all times and also enforce cutting or going wide yet going a tad too slow or too low DR/SR to trigger a penalty. It's so weird when you see 2 cars take the exact same line and one gets a penalty, the other doesn't. Getting penalized for going outside track limits might not seem fair when you already lose time, however you create a danger for the drivers behind you, either by sliding, spinning, or re-entering the track again. The only problem with this is that the penalty system can't figure out when someone forces you off track if you don't hit them first :/ Crowding off track, not leaving a car width, is not penalty worthy in GTS.

For example if the car in front goes wide beyond the white line, the car following gets on his inside within the lines. The car in front on the kerbs / grass wants to get back on the track before the next corner. Does the car that took the corner the right way have to get off the racing line to let the other car back on the track? The Cooper straight has this issue all the time.
