The racing at Suzuka is fairly good, but I still cannot understand why we have to race with the S2000 detuned below 200 hp and 2400 pounds on Sport Hard tires instead of just at 100% power and weight on a slightly grippier tire? Especially with fuel and tire wear on?

It's all about the get-out-of-jail-fre-Evo around Brands for me.

I have a 32.5xx currently with a 31.3xx opt from the last iteration, bearing in mind a 32.8xx was the best I could actually muster. If I have time this week we'll get sub 32. Just gotta dial it back in.

It'll never be rapid rapid... But in a race, when the elbows are out and you end up on the outside heading for the grass you can keep your foot in good and proper! It really is a blast!

I don't understand what's the point of x3 tire wear and fuel usage when you hardly even go below half tank and even tire grip.

Like this?

Not quite that old.

After another stupid race i decided to just run some laps. I enjoy this combo way to much considering how sick i am of the track... but the races i am getting mostly are not good.

I managed to trim my time and pass @sturk0167 on my friends list. I think i can still improve a little but i dont believe i can hit below a .3xx

Good job, brother. 👍
I spent a good deal of time working on it, this morning and yesterday morning. Every time I stop, my optimal is in the .3s. Just can't seem to put it all together, though. The last turn sucks. :yuck:

I'm not interested in this week's daily races. My main focus in Sport Mode is now online time trials where I can tune my car at will.

@O604 I would say yeah, it is. As long as it has HDMi, I'd say so. I mean, I have a 2010 Noblex but it's served me well so far. Outputs to 1080p and that's all I need :D
I don’t really know anything about TV’s, I’m still running an old “no name” brand TV that only does 720, it doesn’t even have a Game Mode, but it seems to work just fine for the purpose. :D
Part of me was really hoping to blame the old TV for being slow. Now I can't. :(

@The_Tullster I will have to look out for you then. Saw Sturk once on his asia account and used to see @05XR8 randomly before he zoomed off to alien, or maybe it was during reset times. I admit I'm a bit grumpy with my driving last night as despite the 2 races with bad drivers I caused the majority of my problems. Might have to have a go at race C, take it slow and get my SR points and clear my mind. I do enjoy Brands much more but you can't ever relax on that track it seems. And I feel like it definitely needs another couple of laps for that race.

I did have to apologize last night as I got punted lap 1 turn 1 and went to last. Worked my way through taking advantage of spins and penalties, back to behind the guy who hit me. See him barge and side slam 2 people off while I am following and so call him dirty post race like a chump. Race him next race and he has a better line at Surtees as I struggle to get it right twice in a row, and I start getting slammed and bumped down the straight. As I ease off to just let him pass is when I finally notice it is lag not him being dirty. He eventually binned it but I still had to apologize post race. One more reminder to wait and hold the tongue a bit unless you're 100 pct sure.

I was positive I had learned that lesson but I guess not.
Edit: and thanks to here for the mention of GTScompanion. Got my first ever smart phone, now got a good tracker for scores

What's your name in Sport Mode?

What's your name in Sport Mode?
In sport mode I have the name Phreelickz. If I am in one of your races probably near the back. I'm not usually good for qualifying and tend most times to have 1 race I kind of stick to for the week, switching around seems to make me much worse although it helped a bit in the RBR and Tokyo week of my disasters not long ago

Since I am an old PC-gamer I am obsessing over technical gadgets and getting stuff right. Says the guy who now races with a ds4 in a lazy chair.
You ought to see my set up, hard kitchen chair in floor centered on the tv, provided my cats aren't taking the spot. Waving my arms around with my DS4 still somehow hoping it helps the car turn that much better. My wife thinks I look hilarious

I do that too. Waving and stretching my arms to the side, the wife and kids laugh, the cats look smug...
Wheel doesn't help with that. People who don't play will always laugh. Cat will always be smug.

"Why do you lean when you turn? Does it make you go faster?"....... Shut up. Leave me alone. :(

Better than when I played Tomb Raider on PS1 though. I used to rise up every time I jumped.

Some really good driving on race A EMEA at the moment. Don't want to jinx it, but I'm up to 6 consecutive clean races!

Edit: 7 now, equalled my record! Better stop here though, just got back up to SR S, and I seem to recall that's where it gets dirty again ;)

Thought I would include a photo of my awe inspiring setup this morning, only change from night is that the coffee gets replaced with beer. And yeah, my SR farming went well. Raced best I could but didn't have to do any sandbagging as I just couldn't quite catch anyone in the super busy race C today

Awesome. I have a very similar set up, but use my kid's mini armchair thing. It's a tight fit, but that stops me falling out when needlessly leaning & waving the DS4 around. Really need to think about a proper gaming room (for the kids of course......)

Dang! Dreadful “Disconnected from Network” screen... first time no harm done, second time happened before the last turn on last lap and then it took 2000 DR points away :banghead:... hanging to DR A by a tread now..

To make it worse, in both races I was fine in P2... when I was about to celebrate it... bang!

Update: I list 5k points altogether.. Back to DR B :banghead:

Did 2 evening races. 1 Race C and 1 Race A.

Race C. QT 2:34.464. Started 8th. Punted once. Almost run off once. Otherwise clean. Finished 12th.

Race A. 1:05.83. Start 6th. Finished 8th. I think. Kind of forgot. Clean crowd though.

This is my 1st week in a while where I'm not focusing on just one of the dailies. Jumping around all 3. Not going well so far.

Good to see we oldies got some similar setups going on. I like the idea of building a rig, but I got nowhere to put it! Besides, it would only encourage me to play more and as I'm not exactly improving in massive leaps it seems like waaaay too much work for what I want to do. Wondering if I should give Race C another go after a qually session later. Early morning races were sort of embarrasing as I was stuck miles behind, but was lapping steady at 2:36.7. On the other hand it is a snoozefest if I can't keep up. Might cure my insomnia though. Sadly I normally avoid that sort of race because I struggle to be as precise on those streetcars as I need to be.
