I think I’m gonna boycott Race C this week, I hate the rain. It’s the equivalent of going to a golf simulator and asking them to set it to rainy conditions, like anyone would do that? The whole point of a simulation is so you can play in ideal conditions all the time(something you can’t do IRL). Plus I’m still sour that instead of working on new tracks we are now getting re worked tracks with rain from PD, which is bull. Not to mention that Tokyo tracks are probably the worst tracks to add rain to, there is absolutely no where to go when someone ahead messes up, and now that’s gonna happen even more often with a wet track. So even more penalties for undeserving parties thanks to the mistakes of others.
is this a bad time to ask how the zoom boom test went? :nervous:

Tried a few A races with my 5.5xxx qt started 2, pole, 2. Races were not bad other than being sent to the sand t1 race 2. Made a good run from last back up to 5th so whatever. Not sure it was on purpose, as i ended up passing him as he was barely able to drive the car. Got 2nd in both other races.

I was having a serious issue with the brake pedal sticking on. I felt like i was draging an anchor for half the race. It was really bad so i tried the fix someone had shared the vidoe for with me. My terrible memory is not allowing me to remember who it was or what thread it was in, dont do drugs kids, lol

It seems to have workwd though, almost 20 laps with no "ghost" braking. And a new qt of 1.05.289 and an opt of .123 (seriously) and i am very sure i can get under 5 seconds.

Good luck on your test @Pigems

Had 2 races this morning, and good to be back on track, although......

First race I did was Race C in the Toyko rain, and oh dear.....Got pinballed around on lap one, and ended 14th after serving various penalties, and DR - after starting 19th for no qualy time set......And my DR went from an "S" for super, to a "B" for B""l""ks!! Really annoyed with that, and I won't be touching Race C again, until I at least get time to get some practice with it, time permitting.

Then had a run in Race A, and great fun sliding the Super Bee around, I think that'll be my staple diet for at least the next couple of days while I find my feet with racing again. And I got a victory from it too! :D

Race B with the Gr 4s at Bathurst won't interest me, boring lol.

Feeling rusty, but I'll be pushing to get some more good results this week. :)

@sdi_03 great lap man. Thanks for sharing. Helped me with a few things i was not sure about with my laps. Now to see if i can actually be any faster than currently lol

Down to 5.199 with a opt of .011

Really want a 4.xxx before i go to work

@05XR8 Race C is definitely a go this week. As for the SR killer it really does depend who you are matched with and when. Edit: and how many mistakes you make yourself, like my first one. My races were clean, just picking up the losses due to racing incidents increased in the rain. When someone loses it and slips slightly now, if you are following there is really no way to prevent a bump. I had several mini battles that were really clean, but I also backed out when we got to the bad bits. You can definitely do some nice racing, but that hairpin is a nasty one.

@Sven Jurgens I noticed the issue with wall bumps versus penalties and found it is how close to the turn you hit the outside wall. It registers a hit in the heart of the turn (outside wall) as a penalty. If you can manage to drag it out and get to the last arrow or 2 of the red stuff and only barely tap it doesnt seem to be a penalty. I noticed that in the dry and it seems to hold. Don't know how you guys are getting your lap times, my best was a 17.6 during the race I won. Back to the practice board.

:odd: Doesn't sound like you.
I bet if they had a race, where everyone had to drive on 4 flat tires, you'd definitely do it.

@Sven Jurgens, too bad you can't cut any corners at Tokyo. I was thinking that getting a 1 second penalty on every lap would be a good strategy, because serving that penalty would probably be advantageous, in terms of braking for the hairpin. 💡

The penalties hurt a lot less with the rain, which is good since BS penalties still happen. Even a 5 sec wall penalty doesn't matter that much if there's someone behind you. You'll pass them again on the straight.

Watching kie's stream right now, and it appears the Ford GT is the "boat" to use for Race C this week......15 of the 19 cars in the race he's doing are Ford GTs!............. :dopey:

Odd, here it's pretty varied still, only one Ford GT in the last race. AMG and Huracan are the favorites, yet also NSX, Citroen GT, McLaren BMW, Peugeot VGT. GR Supra. It's the afternoon though, it will probably turn into a one make at prime time like it usually does.

I managed to win my race in the AMG but got to say the fastest of the lot were all in 458. Polesitter in that race was in the Beetle?

I just hate rain period, if it’s raining outside, I don’t leave the house lol. As for GT, I just wish they’d spend that time on new tracks instead of making current ones worse, it’s been months now since we’ve gotten a new track and the one track we’re supposed to get keeps getting put off. It’s just frustrating is all.

Just Ran a race C on my son's account, he is 11 and autistic and absolutely wanted me to run the Viper. So I did. P3 at grid, a Nissan GTR and a Porsche as 2 and 1. Passed both in turn 1 and 2, held 1st until last lap, the last esses where I slid into the wall and recoiled to the other. Got 10 second penalty and was beat to first by 3 seconds. Enjoyed the Viper a lot, consistent and pretty fast in the straight, the Porsche gained on every lap in the curvy section and I regained the gap on the straight.

I wonder how long before he forgive me for the penalties....

Gotcha. But you'd be up for the flat tire race, right?

So, I was going to give race C a go later, is it the suicide mission that it appears to be?

Nah, I'm still at SR.99, starting in the back field, making it to top 5 and went up nearly 12K DR so far to 36K. It's better than starting mid back at the Nord, plus it's a long race with plenty SR to recover from a bad penalty.

It is a lo of fun and very addictive. Rain should have come sooner to GT Sport. Can't wait for the Nordschleife to get a rain version :) I'll take that over Spa

I had a victory from 12th place, best positions gained so far sits at 15, from 19th to 4th, couple fastest lap, yet the CRB is still elusive. The back slightly braking out and touching the wall is enough to negate it. I'll keep trying before trying different cars. Best lap so far in the Huracan is at 2:13.613 with drafting. Without I can sometimes get under 2:15. Fast enough to overtake most of the pack :)

This is why I hate the rain in GT. I only had 1/4 throttle applied and it spins out, seriously? What is supposed to be fun about this?

Ugh, yes. Straighten out, line up the nose perfectly, nudge the accelerator... and spin out anyway, because you gave it 26% throttle instead of 22%. This is exactly the kind of thing that has put me off the wet tracks entirely. I actually cut about five seconds off my qualifying time (leaving me only five seconds behind the region leader, lol), but the process was so frustrating that I only got that far through sheer bloody-mindedness. It never became fun or satisfying, even when I started to improve.
