Today's races:

Race A: Northern Isle Speedway :banghead: Daihatsu Copen VGT (10 laps)
Race B: Brands Hatch GP - Gr. 4 (4 laps)
Race C: Mount Panorama - Gr. 3 (10 laps, 4x fuel, 8x tyres)

Not doing the A race, been there, done that, no fun being kicked, rammed and punted by drivers 3 classes below me, who can only follow due to insane draft.

Notable: in the Gr. 3 C race there are at the moment 6 different cars in the top10 qualifying in the Europe region (GT by Citroen, 458 Italia, Viper SRT, V12 Vantage, 911 RSR, M6 - in that order).

That race A has been kind to me. I got to be an alien for a couple of hours, with 5 poles and 3 wins. Even ended up with quite a few clean race bonuses.

I've been using the italic font to represent sarcasm, but its like a joke, if you have to explain it it's not funny.

I think Bathurst is one of the few tracks in the game where skill and track experience is far more important that pure car power. I really like racing the track, but have found that it's not very SR friendly...

I also find it very... demanding... but very rewarding if you do manage to master it (and probably far too much for me to handle, especially in a Gr. 3 car, I'll probably spin out of every corner with the RWD cars, if not crashing into the walls when entering the corner in the first place ;-)).

yeh a lot can go wrong at bathurst, it's ok at the lower ranks where cars get ghosted, but I'm already feeling the anxiety building.

This. I love putting the time in qualifying and mastering all of the sectors. Racing is a disaster though... especially on the tight turns after the chicane at the top... just turns into a pile up

It also requires a lot of patience. If you're faster than the car ahead, chances are you're not going to pass going up or down the mountain, you just have to bide your time and strike when you get a chance. Which isn't something that a lot of people fancy doing in a fairly short race

The probably with being patient is the people behind you...

Yep and this is leading to more and more people pushing others about sadly, even good drivers are getting caught up it in as if they don't drive right on the car in front they are pushed wide by the guys behind and then passed by the raging animals in the pack bouncing off other cars as they go past. Interlagos is getting worse every time there is a new race there, I'd imagine Bathurst is even worse than that.

I had some fun GT4 races on Bathurst which only got bad because of the Meganes and Sciroccos passing me down the straight.
But I guess I'll try to repeat my tactics from yesterday and start at P20 to see if I can work my way up the grid

It's growing on me, but it scares me due to the amount of sand! I find myself going into the corners way too slowly, through fear of getting stuck.

Playing since november and already bored with the repetition of tracks, the game need not only more tracks, but need to include more tracks in the sport mode rotation

Have you really mastered *all* tracks? I have been playing quite a lot for the last 2 months and so far at best I have mastered maybe half of the tracks to be able to compete at higher level (i.e. being able to drive times somewhere near the top 10 list in a car I can handle).

Maybe set yourself some challenges... like try and get a good streak of clean races, try and achieve and hold 99 SR points, or try and break into DR S?

I wouldnt say mastered, because Im an average racer, but Im still running and my challengs nowadays are trying to get good with m4 gr4 and porsche gr3... I cant drive them well, since they are the best cars and I cant beat my times with them (times made with atenza gr4 and amg gr3).

But would be better with we have more tracks

Of course more tracks would be better!
I have just got a bit allergic towards the track argument, as most of the reviewers pretty much said "Forza 7" = great, "Gran Turismo Sport" = trash, because of the number of tracks and cars. Of course more tracks are better, but is this really THE one determining factor in a racing game? The quantity of tracks and cars?
For me for sure it is not, the main factor is how the car handles, and how much fun the game is, and not how many tracks and cars it has.
For example that crappy Forza game *still* in it's 7th version cannot eve give me an option to drive with a roof camera, which would have cost them like 3 minutes to implement, but no, bumper, chase, and cockpit (I learned that to be really fast and when you know the track the bumper view is much better in GTS and using that now, but especially for the 70000 tracks in Forza that make it so "great" it would be good to have a camera that gives you a better overview to learn the track, and not to be forced to use the chase view for that, which in my opinion using a wheel is a joke).

Went from almost a B to a bad D with Saturdays races felt like a pinball in most races , think I will stick with Brands today

S is not S though, it is just what is being displayed, the game will match you to different people with a 85 S than when you have a 95 S.

I do try and avoid people who lunge down the inside rather than closing the door and getting taken out , however you cant avoid them all which tends to result in losing lots of places. I need a james bond oil slick button

Following up from FKAustria1911's comment: how many manner points did you lose over the weekend out of interest?

Todays Brand hatch was pretty good to me. I got a decent quali lap, made a few overtakes, then in the last race, this spanish asshole is crashing in to me as we were side by side just before the last right hander on lap 2. We both spun. Then on the start straight I overtake him again, and when he crashes in to me again, LOTS of cars hits us and the race is destroyed for multiple players, well well.. I ended up getting back to B/B rating, He gets DR- and srE. I tried to share the replay but it wouldnt up load. I will make another try later because this isnt ok, those guys need to be black flaged for a week or something :p :gtpflag:

First race of the day.

Northern Isle Speedway, started in 3rd position, went up to 1st in the 3rd lap, and kept 1st till the end.

Won the race, clean 50% bonus and SR up.
