Brown trouser moment

Almost had 3rd! It only takes an inch.

I just reached 45K DR, still going up but one bad race and it's 8 races back again

As is tradition, the Vette is a thirsty dog. Although shifting at 50% is nearly where you'd normally shift (~75%) so that might be closer to full-out fuel use.

Last night I ran the RSR around Spa to test fuel usage. With short shifting I think you could make it the 8 laps. Unsure of how much time is lost from pitting though.

I did find out that if you skip the bus stop in its entirety by going through the grass you'll get a 7s penalty, so that's nice.
Yeah my prediction was way off. Tyre wear is practically negligible, but in the AMG I was shifting around 25% and just barely making it without stopping, I'll have to see if it's faster just to go all out and refuel.

60 odd laps at Big Willow and I still can't break sub 1:17.
I've done a 1:17.163, but I've also done lots of laps with errors trying to find the last bits of time.

You're still faster than me. :D

The pace in race B rooms was phenomenal last night. Hit a1:16.9 qualifying time and was starting anywhere between 9th and 12th. Managed to improve it between races by a few thousandths and creep into the .8s, which nudged me forward a couple of spots but still couldn't catch the podium guys.

 I've had the opposite experience this week. I've slowly gotten my best QT down on both accounts & have been racking up poles all week. I literally have started on pole more times than not. I should have more wins, but I keep throwing them away with mental mistakes. And when I don't, I'm usually dive-bombed off the track. And somehow, I enjoy the track & the racing enough to go back for more.

For what it's worth, it took me about a dozen laps to beat my GT86 time using the Trophy (1:16.6 but I haven't ground it out as I've been battling the 'ring), again with rearward bias. I often find the top 10 ghosts are too quick to be of use and studying replays is a better learning tool.

I got my best ever QT in the 86. Wanting to see if I could better it, I tried the TT. Oh no! The FWD mechanics are totally foreign to me. It was a handful & I didn't want to spend the necessary time to learn it. But, I kept at it & the 86 kept getting a little better. After I got my 1:17.3xx, I turned around & tried a Corvette & Mustang. I got both of those snow plows to do a 1:17.8xx, which is the best I did in the Mustang back in August with this track.

46K DR reached. Time for a break. (and charge the controller) So much bumping in the last race I had neutral SR from all the bumps. Then at the end the car I had been patiently following for the last half lap starts swerving like an idiot on the straight allowed the mclaren bmw behind to catch up and sprint past both of us. He could have just lost one place by drafting me and stay ahead of the McLaren, but no.

I've been driving the AMG today. I get faster second lap times in the Supra and the Vette yet with the AMG I don't have to worry about extra fuel. With that I can push it faster when needed while when I push the Supra I'll be running in FM2 to save up again. The Vette doesn't go faster by shifting later and I only get those faster lap times by running in FM2 lap 1 to have 53% left for lap 2. Not quite a fair comparison.

Lexus maybe later, although now I'm dialed in to the AMG I might just stick with that. I know I can beat my fastest lap with it, just still haven't had a good drafting finish with it. 3rd place finish couple times today, yet one and two are usually out ahead doing their own thing.

Howdy Gents, bit the bullet and paid for my PS PLUS subscription about a fortnight ago and have moved away from the TT's and been getting into the online racing side of things. I have been hanging out on the Willow Springs daily race a bit and having a blast. Snuck into pole position for 10 out of 13 races with a 1.16.93 and managed to win 8 races from 13 which I must say I am stoked with. Once I got the S sportsmanship rating the quality of the racing improved in leaps and bounds so much fun!

Bah taking a break is bad! I've been going off road on my own or stupidly following the car ahead off the road. So far I've been able to save it well enough not to lose DR. No CRB anymore, stay on the road! Got to get back in the zone. More coffee, ignore it getting dark already outside (that's going to be really bad after the time change). Concentrate!

That's odd. T1 had turned into an obstacle course as at the start the car in front of me got punted and the punter bounced off into the tires. I saved the replay to make a nice gif driving through the chicane inside the chicane and the tires are intact in the replay...

Took the Hurryifyoucan for a spin in the dust. Dropped the QT to 17.710 and went for a race.

Decided Willow Springs was clearly getting too easy, so entered the Manufacturers instead...

It was one hell of a race that. Hell being the operative word. Actually qualified in P5, stayed out of trouble and was P2 coming into Parabolica... That's when the 'fun' started... Safe to say it was not a clean race and once I had been 'navigated' back down the order by the last of late brakers, it was very hard to escape the melee that continued for 16 more laps... I won't regale it all, this is the Daily Race thread afterall! But I recovered from P19 to finish a career high P12.

What an evening's racing it was.

I don't why I got my hopes up after two races today...I was sent to the moon in two races after that and people got no penalties. I believe PD has changed something within the system. They must have toned it down a lot.

DR might come into play. I see people getting punted into the sand and the offender doesn't get anything or 1 second. I'm at high DR.A and someone bounces off me, scrapes the wall not even losing time, taking the position and I get 5 sec penalty.

Track cut penalties have almost been eliminated at N24. You can completely miss the twists near the end before the straight at full speed and nothing. Since contact penalties are only triggered when a car goes outside track limits, and the track limits have been relaxed....

I'm pretty sure now that the time for penalties is largely based on DR. Now my DR is closer to A+ it's always 4 or 5 sec when something happens. It has nothing to do with the severity of the bump. For example, did I even touch him here?

5 sec penalty, back to 14th at the penalty zone, -700 DR (9th) from that getting stuck behind a BMW that bumped me off every time I came alongside to make a pass. Once he simply ghosted through me, I guess the game had enough of his lousy driving lol.

My SR dropped to 89 after that race so I got in the slow SR.S room. I won with a 17 sec lead from 10th place, got 120 DR bucks back lol. Fastest lap, CRB, back to 99.

Longest marathon ever for me today. 32 races completed on the ring, 64 laps, 1,632 km in 9 hours and 20 minutes driving time. Endurance racing!

It was bumpy. But the weird thing was that the races were cleanest during dirty hour. Then it got worse again. Great day of racing!
