I'm pretty sure now that the time for penalties is largely based on DR. Now my DR is closer to A+ it's always 4 or 5 sec when something happens. It has nothing to do with the severity of the bump. For example, did I even touch him here?

5 sec penalty, back to 14th at the penalty zone, -700 DR (9th) from that getting stuck behind a BMW that bumped me off every time I came alongside to make a pass. Once he simply ghosted through me, I guess the game had enough of his lousy driving lol.

My SR dropped to 89 after that race so I got in the slow SR.S room. I won with a 17 sec lead from 10th place, got 120 DR bucks back lol. Fastest lap, CRB, back to 99.

Longest marathon ever for me today. 32 races completed on the ring, 64 laps, 1,632 km in 9 hours and 20 minutes driving time. Endurance racing!

What does a Saturday on the ring look like:

It was bumpy. But the weird thing was that the races were cleanest during dirty hour. Then it got worse again. Great day of racing!
The sheer commitment is beyond anything I've witnessed...
Mad respect for you...

I ran two practice races at Spa with next week's settings.
One race was a no stop short shifting with the Porsche and other I was flat out 1 stop with the AMG...
The difference? No stopping was 1sec faster..

The hassle of managing fuel is not worth the extra sec IMO...
I'm gonna pit tomorrow even if it means having to overtake people on track... Spa is not so bad for that...

Thanks for the heads up! I assume this was without anyone to draft? That's my secret sauce for racing from the back. Getting stuck behind a car means fuel saved to catch up to the next car later. So for pole it might be better to pit, from the back saving and short shifting might still work better. Depends on the car as well.

No time yet for Spa, N24 is still on. Back to the track avoiding the T1 dive bombs

Threading the needle by radar, feels like I'm playing one of those bullet hell games

Alright everybody, take a break & enjoy my terrible driving. I did get a couple of other people too. And I saved the best for last.

Report card from Big Willow has been pretty mixed. Seems like the 86 is great on its own, but gets pushed around by other cars.
You make me jealous, along with @Sven Jurgens . Between the two of you, you're getting at least ten times as much race time and mileage as I can manage in any given day.

And the 86 has given me my best results, both SR/CRB and DR points.

I guess this is a bad time to say I botched another race win this morning.

But that was after watching the time delta grow to over 9 seconds in the race before.

Practice is valuable, but I understand the time crunch. There have been weeks where I just didn't have time for any game. And don't compare yourself against anyone else. I think Sven or Sturck or someone else has almost 600 wins. I'm just happy that I'm competitive.

I am one of those freaks that don't need much sleep, nor can sleep much. I went to bed at 2 am, was awake at 4:30 am, gave up trying to sleep at 6 am, first race 6:30 am. Tbf the time change was last night so I did actually sleep in to 7 am  My wife wondered if I had come to bed at all last night :/

Plus I've become very efficient in doing everything in between races. 12 minutes at a time :dopey:

Racing is a way of life :gtpflag:

Did a bit of testing this morning for tomorrow’s Race C, I think the GTR and Ford GT can do better, they were the first two cars I tried so I was more warmed up with the other 3. Any of them will do well on this track though I think, I like the AMG the best personally. :)

@Sven Jurgens

When are you changing the handle to Sven Jurburgring? :)

Maybe I can buy some land up North and re-create the ring in Canada. Got to go shop for a bulldozer and find a you tube video how to build a race track. What's the recipe for asphalt.

Seriously I would be poor if I lived near that track. How much for an all access season pass

Drivers can also purchase a yearly pass, which costs 1900 Euros and allows unlimited access

Damn that's not as much as I thought it would be.

Well, you said that you don't sleep much. Would your wife agree to move to Germany? :sly:

What fuel mapping for the ring? Tried Lexus and Porsche. I use map2 on the grand prix section and 1 with a lot of short shifting on the Nordschleife. I am to slow on the fast straights:lol: and no rest of fuel in the end! It feels like the other opponents did not have the same fuel-trouble...

Ha no, I actually moved to Canada from Europe. I used to live about 340 km from there.

Dang it's getting fast on the track. Lot of A+ and A's out, slow lap one had me finishing 8th, which costs 400 DR bucks. This might be my peak, but I'll keep pushing until the Catalunya race :)

10:30 S18 F05 8:27.172 SR 99 DR 48358 No Stop, Lexus 17, CRB, Bumped off at the end but survived

Tragically hip remembrance show on tv, kids happy with their halloween candy, too cold to go outside, perfect Sunday.

Lexus and Porsche FM1, shift at half way. Keep an eye on the percentage, should be 75% when entering the middle straight. Shift a bit earlier if behind. You need 8% left for the last straight.

Wow! A whole week of failing miserably, that was painful to watch:D. Great edit, lot of work only to show the pain.👍

Howdy Gents, bit the bullet and paid for my PS PLUS subscription about a fortnight ago and have moved away from the TT's and been getting into the online racing side of things. I have been hanging out on the Willow Springs daily race a bit and having a blast. Snuck into pole position for 10 out of 13 races with a 1.16.93 and managed to win 8 races from 13 which I must say I am stoked with. Once I got the S sportsmanship rating the quality of the racing improved in leaps and bounds so much fun!

Welcome to the mayhem of online racing!
That mean you are pretty fast. You will be up the DR chart shortly and the victory will be harder to get.

I don't know if I'd call that insomnia, but whatever that is, can you bless me with it? I'd like to sacrifice a bit more sleep so I can do some more racing :D

As for Spa on Race C... either you fuel save or you push. I was in a lobby with some fast people last night. Some of us were able to fuel save to victory, but there was one person in the Corvette who pushed like crazy, pitted, and finished right behind 1st and 2nd.

GTR can barely no-stop, Supra can no stop, Ford GT must pit.

Not me. I'm still under 400.

Check this out. Sometimes things just have a way of evening out.
Lap 1, turn 3, and this guy decided he needs to go for it. Eh, whatever. Didn't bother me that much. Just racing stuff.
Lapse in judgement (I'm guilty of that, sometimes). I don't think he tried to kill me, he just probably thought I'd be going wider.

Completely unintentionally, my spin led me back to his car, for a reciprocal punt. I really didn't mean to, but I also didn't feel too bad about it.
He quit the race, immediately.

I got some checkered flags & a bunch of pole awards, so it balances out. DR has gone up pretty well & SR is up....then down...then back up a little.

Is that the same lapse in judgement that the red Lambo used on me in my crash video? We took the racing line & those guys lunged. The worst part is that until they get penalty time, they think they are racing clean. If they raced that way in a real race, they'd get pulled from the track.

I guess so. I just didn't care, since I went into it extremely low expectations. I felt no differently after finishing 14th in that race than I did in the following race, where I finished 4th.

It's a track that I really wanted to be good at, but I'm just not. :indiff: Oh well. I still enjoy driving there. :)

I guess I'll go start looking for exploits at Spa.

Well, I certainly peaked now after this screw up
1yv0RMx.gif

Missed the start, almost DQ, timer disappeared at 1.1 seconds!
47 seconds behind when crossing the start.

I finished 13th, lost 1000 DR doh!

I was wondering what happened to you! Then I saw the replay you just parking there... I thought maybe phone rang or something like that. It was quite an impressive pace to regain lost ground!

DR, matchmaking and penalty system are so broken lol. Another example just from my race notes

12:00 S17 F05 8:30.234 SR 99 DR 47244 No Stop, Lexus 17, CRB, Great race
12:30 S15 F09 8:34.957 SR 86 DR 46626 No Stop, Lexus 17, 2 x 5 sec penalty from track re-entries, brake checks, rammed off at the end
13:00 S13 F02 8:32.541 SR 86 DR 46557 No Stop, Lexus 17, FL, Dirty chaos lap 1, bumped bumped bumped, rammed off lap 2

Two BS penalties from track re-entries in the middle of traffic (nowhere to go) touching me and crashing again, of course 5 sec since my DR is so high send me to the low SR.S room. I was the only DR.A there. Normally when you qualify you get an easy pole to flag victory (Nearly everyone pitted and first was only 8:23 qualifier). However from the back, chaos, cars coming from everywhere while getting bumped all over the place. Then in lap 2 a Brazilian rams me into the wall, and thanks to the DR difference he only gets 1 second. Still plenty to pass him at the penalty zone but lost my run on first and -70 DR for finishing second. Neutral SR from all the bumping thus back to the chaos room.

Now if I had been disconnected in that room with all B C and D drivers :nervous: That's up to 3,040 DR lost.

Starting 14th of 19 next, two other DR.A in the room this time.

Phew, out of the danger zone, back to the high SR.S room

13:30 S14 F01 8:27.465 SR 91 DR 46790 No Stop, Lexus 17, FL, Chaos lap 1, 11 sec lead at finish
