Thanks for that info 👍 I have now seen some of the top 10 laps and see how the laps are so fast 👎:irked:

Anyway I tried some laps in the GT40 and wow this thing is excellent around here! within 10 laps I beat my R8 time and it seems like there's a lot more up for grabs.. the rigidity of the GT40 is perfect for the tighter turns around this track, here's my best so far if you haven't tried this car here yet? then go get some laps in.. It's a blast! 👍

Not tried the GT40 yet. Will definitely have to give it a go now 👍

Dang, just got send to the moon from a car merging back on the track from the far right at full speed. No way to see them coming in the rear view mirror nor the radar. He hit me so hard I crashed into the wall further on to come to a dead stop. He stopped to give the position back with a penalty but crb gone anyway, spend too long on the grass, reset nullifies it I guess.

How do these huge run offs work in RL, do cars keep flooring it there as well to 'merge' back in sliding into the next corner

I just noticed something. I've never thought of this before, but while looking at the KP Q times for Spa/Asia, I saw only 1 time from a Chinese player in the top 500. I checked the other two races, and saw that they also had only 1 Chinese player... Huh?

This is from Wikipedia: "With 457 million Internet users currently active in China, the country now has the largest online user base in world, of which two-thirds engage in online game play."

I read something about the consoles over there possibly being region locked. Which I guess means they can't connect to servers that aren't run by the Chinese. Does anybody know if this is the case?

It's a shame. I'm sure there's plenty of kick ass racers over there. :irked:

I think something might be going on there. There are normally a lot more Chinese players in the top boards on kudos but they often run the alternate 'peace' flag, which is white with a blue star type thing on it. I used to find plenty of them in my races but couldn't find any of those flags while digging through the boards. Maybe they've changed the great firewall again somehow but I know there were plenty of A ranked chinese getting good laps just recently.

EDIT: here and below, I am an idiot, that was Taiwanese flag. But I know I have seen more chinese in the rankings before

Catastrophic hère. Started 9 , finished 13. Fuellevel had to run between 4-6 with a lot of switching. Going flatout and doing 1 short stop works best for me in this car.

Guys overtook me everywhere, cought up on their pitstop, to be doubled on the long straight

4-6????? WOW I never go above Map 2. I just keep the revs down.

I don't have the consistency to do enough hot laps to go for a fuel stop so I am going to stick to fuel savings. That's what seems to work best for me, as in this little video...:gtpflag:

Adding to update that I am an idiot, that was Taiwanese flag I was remembering.:dunce: That would really piss off chinese government. I know I have seen more chinese in races until recently though, still no idea what would be the problem.
Oh yeah, I've seen a bunch of those Hong Kong and Taiwanese flags in the game.
So then I suppose the mainland Chinese just aren't allowed to race with us.
The 3 that I saw were probably other people's alt accounts.

I once did a tally how popular GTS was in each country (nr players / population) and Hong Kong towered above the rest. It must be a popular country to make an account to access psn.

A while back Milouse from KP made a list of registered users per country.
China had roughly the same number of players as Slovakia, and only 12% as many as Canada.

Had 2 C races tonight, tried the Audi, but didn't get on with it, fuel no problem, but tyres went off on lap 5, and so much oversteer...... Finished 5th in the end.

Although I had this nice little move into the Bus Stop on lap 2!!

Went back to the 911 for my second race, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd..........(I'll tell you soon!) :D

Quali for Race C.

Aaaaand, I'm being gently reminded why I hate Spa.

Man, it’s very tough, and legions of its fans are now donning their GTS helmets and getting in on qual if nothing else.
I’ve taken a different tack, racing in a Mustang out of pure spite. I ran a 20.8 yesterday. I may buy a 911 just for the heck of it and try it in race even though I pretty much loathe it...(the 911)

I doubt I'll be racing, this week. Maybe one or two on Sunday. But, that's about it. I'm just not quick enough to be happy with my pace.

I've gone down the big yank V8 route too, with the 'Vette. Which, surprisingly, feels very nice at Spa.

Race 2 in the Porsche, started 4th, and an early battle with the Z4, tight as anything! :D

Kept with the leaders over the next few laps, 1st placed car pitted on lap 6, which left me and the Italian in the Porsche to duel it out, both of us non stopping, and it all got reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly close at the end of the penultimate lap!!!

From there kept it clean to win by a couple of seconds!!

Back on it tomorrow, loving Spa!!

The classy drivers are out tonight in NA lobbies.

Yesterday I saw that a lot of people struggle when they get draft. They stick to their line and braking points no matter what, so when they get draft in the Kemmel straight or before the last chicane, they brake in the same point they usually do and just crash on everyone.
It's just a new track and yet people are driving like they've never played the game in their life.

@Granadier
When you see a Mustang with NASCAR livery out there know you have protection. You drive classy I saw that.
I got into a scrap or two tonight, even missed entry so went to a race to kill time and got penalized into last by wall tapping.
So I kept running into the wall in last all alone...It seems the pens stop adding up at 30 seconds.
That last race was fun took 2nd in old stability power and tcs!

Murica!

Cheers mate, I'll keep my eye out.

SO, I am going go out on a limb and say no stop with the Citroen is a good strategy. I have seen this used to good effect so I decided to do some test laps. Since it is BoP's down to 87% power, I can do the same lap times if I wind it up all the way or if I short shift to conserve.

I am about to give this a try. Whatever the result, I am pretty sure this will bring relative success.

(this is what I do while I am waiting for clients to confirm appointments :p)

Absolutely! Citroën is just too good with Fuel in Race C. Made me look better than I truly am.

So the Spa is here, had to try. Never was big fan on Spa, but I think its ok. Hate the last chicane thou
Here's my qualy lap. brake too late to final chicane... (no cutting) opt was close to 2:19 flat, so litle more practice and 2:18.x times could be possible
2:19.503 BB-2

I do feel that the RH tyres have better grip now, maybe the track have just better surface

I guess my 2:24 isn’t all that bad then, I know I lost a few seconds through T1 and I’m still a bit unpredictable / tenitive getting around the last bend, I’d be happy with a 2:20.

You don’t really need to change the tyres.. just add some fuel and go! :)
Yeah... nah! My lap times are suffering by over 2s after only four laps even with barely no wear. For me, it's worth the extra few seconds pit time, I just don't drive well enough to manage worn tyres. On this track I'm racing for fun, never mind the results :D

The run-off area on the right of Raidillon is actually the old (and apparently still used in some events) pit exit lane. The old GT Legengs game used the old pits, you have to be really careful exiting there to keep tight to the right if there's traffic about.
The area to the left of the Eau Rouge / Raidillon combination used to have a medium speed left, short straight, medium hairpin, short straight then medium / fast right back on to the Kemmel curve approach. You can still see it in the satellite view https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Circuit_de_Spa-Francorchamps,_April_22,_2018_SkySat_(cropped).jpg

Did some laps around Spa just to get an idea. Looking at the full listing of times, for DR/D to be competitive you need 2:20/21 for qualy in Asia. I may stick with my 2:25 just to get a feel for the track with traffic. My DR is going to take a hit, but maybe I can string together a couple of P6's to make up for it....or I could end up back at DR 1:scared:.

Seems like we are driving different cars. I find she consumes a lot, no matter how I drive :irked:

Will try again, problem must be on my side :D

Edit: 0 stops done with a good place. That 7 speed really works and power is there even in low rpm!
