I did some analysis of times on c race replay.
No stop is a valid strategy.
I will try again. Conserve tires well until people pit then all out. With clear air and good luck you could podium if you set mid pack qual.
In dailies it’s best to assume everyone is trying to kill you until they prove otherwise.

Aaaaaaand one and two and turn and two and one and two and turn and two.. come on people, shred those tyres......Ok so yeh. I went in this time with mediums instead of hards, with the newer Lexus. So much nicer to drive than the Epsom NSX. I managed to beat my NSX time by nearly 5s. Just to see how things went, I pitted and took on hards during the qualy session and I was only a hair slower.. still much more in control than with the NSX. As I suspected, there were more DR/Ds this time, with a mix of DR/B and C thrown in. I started P9/16.

The race started and things did not go well. One of the DR/Bs behind me was being aggressive, nearly pushed me off at T1, then did hit another car at T2, which hit me, then another car hit me off the track and I ended up with an orange DR *and* a 3s penalty . I rejoined the race P14 and not terribly happy. I fell even further back because of the penalty, but started to claw my way back. For some reason I was still using taller gears on the corners, and the occasional short shift... which is kinda stupid, I had 3/4 of a tank at lap 6 .

I pitted lap 6. The tyres seemed ok so I knew I could get 6 laps out of Mediums. On with new boots and I was off again. I slowly managed to claw back some places. Last couple of laps I could see the time between me and the guy behind shrinking. At one stage he showed on my radar, then he slipped back to 1s behind. I was in P10 and struggling.. I was using lower gears and more throttle second half and I think that messed up my tyre wear.

Expecting to get passed before the race finished, the car in front came off and I inherited P9. The guy behind never closed the gap, so P9 it was :dopey:.
Blue SR, DR went up 80ish. The last few races it's been going up like a piranha attack...one tiny bite at a time. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.
I've been having the same time there. Punts in the first lap are frequent as nobody accounts for the fact that cars in front of are not going any faster than I am. I pit on the 8th lap and switch from RH to RM and then try to catch the guys with RM that can't hang on any more by lap 11/12. It's been killing my Spa DR bump, but managing a B/S and started to gain again last night. These guys are literally all over the place on their dead RM, and it's like a drift competition. Makes passing hard. All that said, I am really starting to enjoy Autopolis, but really only with Gr2. Anything slower and it's too tedious.

Like a boss! ;)

A handful of races at fuji this morning. Was some fairly good racing. First race i joined was a little rough, but i think i was just cought in the way. A couple of guys were obviously not happy with one other guy. And since the two were on a team, they obviously teamed up and played very rough with the individual and a little with everyone else also it seemed. They were gone next race. Only other thing is that i did the same thing as yesterday, gain a few hundred dr only to lose it all and then some by completely blowing the last race i do lol

Just jumped in the Renault RS01 at Maggiore to put a time down for my KP score as I've got a spare 30 mins.

Felt right straight away (I've put in a couple of hours in at Spa in the Group X version).
1:59.254 after about 8 laps.

Will be back here tomorrow. Goodbye Fuji! :)

I tried some QT at B race this morning, really weird to drive with no sound but I don't like to wake wifey prematurely. Only did a couple laps, don't know the track well. So I went to Fuji to finish my daily miles and put up a 5 to 7 seconds slower lap than @Mistah_MCA .

I blame @sturk0167, it might be a meme now.
Headphones is a good way to play without disturbing others. Unless you need to listen for something :)

My wife probably enjoys the headphones more than I do.

@SpaceMaN47y0 you can always plug in earbuds or headphones to your DS4.

@Dairyworker the two races before you the solo guy was called out for abusing track limits in the eyes of the other two guys, and was pretty much hassled and named called after that. I haven’t watched the replays yet but it was very entertaining at Fuji this morning.

Would any of you guys give the Viper a try at Maggiore and tell me what you think about it?

Tried it last night. Understeers like hell. I adjusted my BB to -2 on the DS4, but moved it back to 0 on the wheel. The best way for me to drive the Viper is to use the trailbraking oversteer to my advantage. I've done the same with the Supra.

I don't normally use the Viper so went into this completely cold. I could probably get a low 1:58 out of it with some practice.

That's still better than me. Best I could muster was 2:00.600 on my alt account.

Still not interested in this weeks races, I set myself to getting a CRB on the 1 hour N24 Porsche endurance race in GT League with a tuned down Porsche to N400. Next to @sturk0167 the AI is fully to blame for bad driving in sport mode. What a bunch of bastards.

The rubber banding is terrible. Cars all drive slow then activate when you get close. You think you can pass, but nope, suddenly they step on the gas pedal and run away. That leads to cars bunching up in front of you who then go drive side by side in a group down the Nord... Don't think you can get by when one goes wide (which they do a lot) as they'll instantly veer back onto the track to block. That's especially bad at the right turn before the straight. The car in front of you always goes wide, veers right back making it impossible to get a good run onto the straight.

Attempt 1. I passed some cars at the straight in lap 1 then got slowed by cars bunching up in front again, leading to cars coming back from behind with the magic boost. Let them pass before they hit you, too late.

Attempt 2, same thing but earlier, magic boost bump

Attempt 3, after already waving two cars through, another came from behind while the ones in front of course made a mess

Ok, can't race the AI contact free on this track, simply not possible. Sure you can easily out brake the AI in corners (which is probably why that's all you see in sport mode) but that doesn't work when the cars bunch up in front. Especially not as the one up front brakes early while the one you want to pass tries to speed up.

So 4th attempt I simply stayed behind for the first 2 laps, FM3, 5th gear, coasting around the track enjoying the scenery. Then a couple pit, move up, make a pass on a couple cars until the magic speed boost bunches the rest up again to form a 2 wide road block. Beware of the car that boosts back from behind, front one brakes in the middle on the middle straight for no reason, dodge the car shooting by from behind to overtake you and the other car. It's all of the AI against you lol.

Just keep fuel saving, after lap 4 they all pit again and voila suddenly from 10th into 4th place. I pass 3rd then when closing in on second he speeds up but later messes up and I manage to pass before he veers back to block. I pit end of lap 5 in 2nd, only lose one spot to 3rd. I catch back up giving 2nd the speed boost who starts racing to catch first so they can form a road block together. Fine, they still need to pit. 2nd messes up at the turn before the straight of course costing me all my speed so I stay behind. He still has the boost and races away on the straight. They both pit, now I can finally drive in lap 7.

Worst AI for a racing game ever! Great track as always, Porsche is great fun to drive on it :)

For my no stop attempt it’s gonna be critical lap 7 needs to be low 40 then 8/9/10 need to be 40 low 41.
All the suckers ought to be cleared out by then.
In other news recent security camera footage was leaked from an anonymous source at the power company after a series of bizarre outages. @sturk0167 has not been charged at this time...

Some thoughts on Race B's length and the negativity it can lead to: I like that PD increased Race B by a lap (5 mins is a more acceptable wait than the ridiculous 9 before) but... 4 laps still feels like a warm-up leading to a real race. I think it would be a more satisfying and enjoyable experience at an extra 2 laps or double the current number.

A negative side is that with the current length, it encourages people to fight far more aggressively with almost no patience at all for places which I've experienced often in my races. Worst of all, if you're unfortunate to end up in a collision because of someone's over-eagerness, recovering places is made more difficult.

I kind of sucks that the Q session friend times list only shows friends in same region :(

It does. Time Trials display times for all regions so it would make sense for daily races to be included too. If people want to only see times specific for their region, add a separate filter named "Worldwide".

Would be nice if we had some N400 or N500 cars for one makes for race A occasionally.

Beer ads? Why not.

I put myself in a bad situation. Yup, my fault. I was mostly painting cars today, and notice that my buddy, BenRod had logged in, so of course I went to race A, because that's pretty much where he lives and thrives. Quickly jumped into the next race, forgetting that I was still using A/T, from a C race that I did in the morning. Well, at race A, you get run over if you use A/T.

BenRod had the pole, and I entered with no Q time.
I got knocked off the track a couple times in the first 2 laps. :indiff:

Anyways this clip is the epitome of being in wrong place at the wrong time. I played it right, braking early to let the 2 clowns slide by and go wide, but that damn car didn't ghost!
Oh well. I slowed down and let Ben lap me.

Then I missed the next race because I was trimming this clip. :banghead:
