Today was another good day at Maggiore. 4/4 lights-to-flag victories, I've got a clean race streak of 9 going

Took a bit more than it should have, though. Servers kept dying on me and disconnecting me during matchmaking. Thanks @sturk0167. :dunce:

Edit: Next week announced!

Race A: N100 @ Yamagiwa II, 3 laps, SH

Race B: Gr.4 @ Bathurst, 3 laps, RH

Something weird is going on with the next races. Race C is listed as N200 @ Tsukuba, 5 laps, SH, which is a typical A race. This is followed by a race with no label, which is Gr.3 @ RBR, 5 laps, RH. Looks like a B race. And it gets weirder; both of those races will only run from 7am to midnight GMT on November 25th. There's no actual C race in sight :odd:
Going off the race times, Tsukuba is Race A and RBR is Race B for the week after

Edit: nvm Sven said the same thing

Been hot lapping at Maggiore for race B for the last couple of hours.

Was starting to get a bit frustrated with it, but just put down a 1:57.958. Pleased with that as its within top 1000 EMEA. I'm not usually that competitive in GR3. Not sure i can keep it on track for four laps at that pace tho.

Well well, friday is off to a bad start. Got back in for 3 more races after a short break. The last one had @sturk0167 lol i wondered what happened. People are just playing really rough this morning and continually i am seeing the dirty ones calling out others who i know are good folk. I am not helping myself out by falling in with the mid field by running way off pace this morning. I blame sturk lol actually i blame my wife for finishing the milk so i only got one coffee this morning. I dont put much in but can't drink it without. Taking another little break to hit the store and hopefully get some better matching.

It's possible i will be racing much of the afternoon as i am not working again today. Gotta work tomorrow though....

This new Race C sounds amazing. 5 laps of Tsukuba in a road car, then pit in, jump out of the car, jump into its big brother GR3 variant and then on pit exit the track has magically changed to Red Bull Ring. I'm game!

Done a few runs at Maggiore to see how I got on (never knowingly driven the track before), I'm competent going the 'right' way around but reverse, I only really know the last corner onto S/F.

It's a rare old experience eh!

I'm miles off the pace and every corner feels like a surprise! Not touched the META cars yet but unless I can knock 1.5s off my time with them I'm gonna have to mark Maggiore reverse as something of a nemesis and a track to be heavily worked on

Wow, first race was poo. Saw @Mc_Yavel and was hoping for a nice race. Didn't happen, i was on pole ad left lots of room i thought for t1, kept way outside. Watched 3 or 4 blue triangles chainreaction into me anyway. Since i saw it coming i was able to keep the car under me and get back to speed only in 4th. Then i see it, a 5 second penalty, for being hit off the track. I almost quit the race, but kept at it and got back up to 6 from 10.

Also, always fun to watch someone call someone dirty that you know is not....

Interesting start to the day.... race 2 now

Well that was a bit better and a bit worse. Good clean battle to start with a trusted opponent for top spot. Then one of the clowns from yesterdays first race forces me wide last turn and i almost spin. Got back past him and he clearly hit me at least 2 more times. Not hard, but hard enough... after the race i asked "what are you doing out there" he said "fighting a canadian war" as he was behind myself and yavel. He then said i was wrong and it was yavel who had been bumping me. I guess he doesn't know the we have had like a hundred races together. Also all three of us had red sr, his was down to B yavel and i still S

Third race was the kind that makes you forget about the other two. Three star win and good clean competition. Short break, back for more later.

Oh and, happy friday folks :gtpflag:

Ahhh man. I must admit I screwed up the start. It was my first race of the week there and it's a standing start. I just tought I'm gonna brake when everyone brake but I was a bit late. Tried to move to the right to avoid hitting the car in front but there was a car to the right and I cut him. :banghead: So big screw up for me. Many people call me dirty when in fact it was just a stupid mistake.

The clown in the second race was wrong about me. We fought hard behind you but no dirty move from me. I just tried to carry my better momentum in the next curve with him. He then block me from moving away from the curb in last sector.

All in all, rough time for me at the track this morning. What upset me is the fact that I may now be labeled "dirty" in some other players book. Wich I'm not.:(

@Mc_Yavel no worries man, we all make mistakes. I was more upset at PD for the penalty than the contact, it was minor really. Never worry about others thinking your dirty. Even if they do, you will prove them wrong next time or if they don't give tou that chance, they are dirty. I guarantee there are guys out there who probably think i am dirty.

The guy in race two is a jerk i think, saw him and a team mate behaving badly yesterday also, and again sayin others were the dirty ones.

Inb4 PD decides to eliminate Race C for no apparent reason

Next week announced!

A: Nice, Kyoto is finally remembered again after 9 months of absence. I could never get to grips with the Beat after tinkering it over and over. One of my worst performing Race As ever. I wonder if I can drive it properly this time (if it's the Beat.) It might be something else: Toyota 800 maybe? Or if PD reads this thread (they don't), the Sambabus.

B: Looks like a direct copy of the last Gr.4 Panorama race since it's 3 laps. Another Megane one-make expected and more hotlapping than actual racing. Gr.3 would've made more sense. Gr.4 was used two consecutive times before.

that they definitely do

Yeah, I guessed they do. I was poking fun since I mentioned the Sambabus (several times me, you and others have expressed our desire to see it return) and it hasn't been seen a single time since June last year.

Maybe next week it might finally be the time. The last Sambabus race was at Kyoto after all so there's a sliver of hope.

So what are these two then?

PD, if you're reading this: I would like to apply for the Daily Race Coordinator position.

I'll do it for free.

Same. I even had a crude algorithm made up, for if the races returned to genuinely being daily. In short, there'd be some "fixed" races, and these usually correspond to real-world racing events going on that day, or various anniversaries, among other things. So for example, the day of the LM24, there'd always be a Gr.1 race at Le Mans. Then, there'd be "open" race dates, where new content could be showcased. These dates could also have some factors be randomized, such as the course, but in a way that makes the most recent "dice roll" be the least likely pick.

Given GTS' current UI/UX/etc., I would also have several hidden "sub-classes" of cars that could make things more fun, especially when it could make lesser-used cars more viable, or simply make them get used more often instead of never even being an option. For example, a race at Le Mans without the chicane only using the Group C cars. I'd also have a general guide prepared to which courses and cars match best, especially given the nature of online racing.

Finally, I'd almost always have light damage on, slipstream and off-road/rain traction set to real, with fuel/tires set to 1x, and potentially forcing pit-stops on some occasions. I also may force limits on how much fuel one can have at a time, starting fuel, or which tire compounds must be used to avoid a penalty.

Since @sturk0167 mentioned that PD possibly reads this thread:
1. Hello, Kaz and PD!
2. Can you like stop recycling daily races 600 times, and actually start to have some variety? It even makes me, who makes videos on your game, want to stop playing.
As much as I like to joke about things, this one is something I am serious about. It frustrates me when we get a combination that was already repeated earlier this year. N24 with Gr. 3? Done at least twice. Maggiore Center with the Fiat 500 F? Done THREE TIMES, and that's not even fun! Gr. 2 at Autopolis? Done twice, and I think this one is worse due to the physics update (tire wear rate should have been lowered). 86/BRZ at Fuji? Done twice. Add in the other exact combos that have been done at least twice, and it makes me question if whoever makes these daily races has any creativity, especially for races with N class cars.

I still remember the one-make Vulcan race at Monza. It was memorable because you had to learn how to control a beast of a car, while getting some good racing out of it... and going to Punt City at T1. Or what about Gr. 3 at Spa? Granted, it was one of the most hyped things ever since Spa got announced, but it was also memorable. Combos like these made me WANT to come back to GT Sport and do some Daily Races, even if it was just for the memes.

I want creativity. I want a bit of risk. What about all of the other N class (and even some Gr. X) cars that you seem to have forgotten about? What about tracks/configurations that you seem to have forgotten about? Even if a new combination doesn't work, like, let's say: N600 with ANY car at Sainte-Croix A (just making something up here), I would greatly appreciate it a lot more than doing another Maggiore Center race in that stupid Fiat for the 256th time. And no, do NOT sub it out with the i3.

GT Sport is a game that I love a lot, and is one of the few games that I have put over 1000 hours into. I even started making consistent videos on this game at the start of 2019, and that was not an easy choice to make! But with all of these repeated, uninspired Daily Race combinations, it makes me feel miserable to do an identical video on a combination that was repeated a few weeks to a few months ago. I want to be excited about putting in some more time into the Daily Races. If I keep seeing more of these repeated, lazy combinations, then it's only going to be a matter of time before I just say "screw this" and start to invest my time in other games. This week's combinations, ALL THREE of them being repeated from earlier this year, makes me think that whoever makes these events is lazy.

I'm done ranting for now, but seriously. PD. Start to have some creativity in your Daily Races.

PD wouldn't even need to make major changes, to make things more interesting.

I couldn't care less about race A or B. So I won't discuss those. But, Race C is easy.

Fuji? Cool. Give us a Gr.3 race.
Suzuka? Cool. Give us Gr.1.
Autopolis? Gr.1 or Gr.3
N24? Gr.1.
Race B has a lot of low hanging fruit as well:

Monza: only used once this whole year and it was a Gr.3 race C.

More Super Formula, Gr.X, Gr.1, Gr.2, N500+ Race B combos.

Maybe something fun can be done with SS route X? Why was that even added to the game?

I can go on for days.

I've seen Gr.1 used at all of 3 tracks in almost a year (in dailies that is, FIA has had a bit more variety). Sarthe, Maggiore GP and Fuji. That's it. Spa for one would be great with that class, and with the reduced dirty air which is rumored to be coming soon, Gr.1 races could get much more interesting.

Okay, races for the next two weeks are properly up now.

November 18-24:
Race A: N100 @ Yamagiwa II, 3 laps, SH
Race B: Gr.4 @ Bathurst, 3 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.3 @ Sardegna B, 15 laps, RH, Tires x7, Fuel x5

November 25 - December 1:
Race A: N200 @ Tsukuba, 5 laps, SM
Race B: Gr.3 @ Red Bull Ring, 5 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.1 @ Sarthe, 5 laps, RH, Tires x11, Fuel x5
