Here's some sweet Laguna Seca action. I don't know what class these cars are, but they look like ones in the game.
And if you watch until the end of the lap, you'll see why it looks like a Sport Mode race.

"Avoid actions that will make you look bad." Perfect example here of aggressive defending causing tempers to flair resulting in an unnecessary wreck. I remember watching that race. Both drivers (Magnusson in the Vette and Bergmeister in the Porsche) got suspensions because of their behavior there.

Also that was the now-defunct IMSA GT2 class, which is now the current GTLM / GTE class. One step above the GT3 class in performance, but below Gran Turismo's Gr.2 category.

I dunno, I really like turnopolis for the gr2. There’s a couple spots there where my Lexus really shines on it’s default tcs3.
I gain advantage from people running alfresco sliding around not getting power down, and having to tiptoe outta the slow corners.
Maggiore reverse is a nightmare for me. Waaay too difficult to even think about trying to learn.

I did 10 races in a row to relearn Maggiore, currently down to doing 2:01 laps in race, still finishing 12th. It has cost me 5K DR so far and still not getting any better matchmaking. Most rooms had 3 or more A+/S, mostly A/S and a couple B/S with me at 23K right now. It's easy to get the CRB anyway with only one or two passes per race. Plus the penalty system kinda works. One race I got punted and bumped off 5 times by different Brazilians, 2 left to SR.B one a red S and I still got the CRB.

Sardegna is another dive bomb track with added walls for people to bounce off from. I don't know what car was used last time yet I see I only did 4 races there so could not have been very good. (Or Bathurst was on that time as well, also very likely) 3 laps is really way too few for Mount Panorama. It should have been race C instead of B. Perhaps it's the reverse of last time these two were on... I guess not, it logged 54 laps for 4 races, 15 laps per race, 2 races where I didn't finish in time. Yet it used to be 4 laps for GR.4 on Mount Panorama, 3 laps that's 7 minutes....

Actually checking KP Sardegna B was in the week of 2019-07-14 next to Brands Hatch.
Sardegna road track C has been up against Bathurst and the Nordschleife, hence zero races there for me

Well you have already proved you can learn any track quick. You’re a boss, man.
Yeah I haven’t done much Sardegna either. All PD original designs seem to vex me to no end with these huge wide swaths of tarmac but yet very very specific places within it you need to be.
Well, that and I feel like their stuff is designed to be tricky, but with big rewards if you can get it right.
The only track of theirs I can sort of get right is Seaside. Oh Gardens reverse is another one I threw in the towel on.
On another subject, I agree with many more variety to the dailies would be fun, but, there’s also FIA if one likes longer races.
I have to wonder...This is just theory...
So are they repeating a lot because they are trying to raise the overall skill level and racing knowledge of the player base in preparation for the porting over of the game to PS5?
I know personally, it takes me a long long time to get a handle on a track to where I can basically run it well enough to race.
I mean they could swap races every day with a ton of variety, but wouldn’t that prevent people from learning a bit more detail?
Maybe they want to make the next iteration of the game more involved given more advanced hardware. I mean, if I was in that position, I would be concerned about accessibility. If the next one is too hard few will play.
I dunno, just wanted to throw that out there.
Back to your point, you back any any PD track next to the real track, in classes I like to run, I will put time into real. Espescially one like Brands. Manufacturers is 15 laps gr3 Nurb GP later. I may enter that if I am home...
I really admire your gaming. Solid.
Oh yeah, if true it will be great...This track in game...

Got my official qualifying time down to 1:59.264 at Maggiore. I did a couple races from p2/p3 in B/S, and finished 2nd in both. The second of the two, both me and the guy on the pole ran laps 2-4 under 2 minutes. I think I finished about 1 second back and about 6 seconds in front of 3rd, but I never even had a single chance for a pass.

I ran a couple laps on both Panorama and at Sardegna to see what race I’ll invest my time in next week. I don’t know that I’ll be super successful at either, but Sardegna feels like it might be the better choice. The twisties on Panorama will eat me up.

I’ve been loving the Beetle. I tried running the 911 since that’s what I lose to every time, but I was running consistently running a second or two slower. Any other gr 3 cars I should try? The Beetle will be gone when this season is over, and I don’t think it was available to buy for me at Brand Central.

@Groundfish I'm not into NGP. It's such a tease to turn right, away from the start of the greatest stretch of track on Earth. Too painful. I would take T1 completely wrong by now anyway. After 761 races at N24 vs 219 on NGP, I'll always be turning left at T1

I guess the hope was for cleaner more competitive races with weekly changes. But it seems more laziness with all the repeats.

Interestingly real world circuits are less in favor with me compared to the fantasy track. Fuji, Autopolis, Tsukaba, Red Bull ring and through sheer repetition Suzuka are all at the bottom of my list. Laguna Seca is a fun track though, I'll be racing that for sure!

I guess I'm getting 'competitive' now with high 2:00 lap times since I got my first BS penalty in the last race. Matchmaking has finally decided to put me with B/S peers so my DR is dropping faster now  21K left. 4 laps is too short, next week 3 laps :banghead:

PD please make a Daily Race D which changes everyday. The active player count would go up immediatly. Or if thats to much work for your team give us a Race D and E on a weekly basis as it is now. Just give us more to choose from.

They should add a Daily Championship where you are involved in four Race C format for a 2 hour period. Choose one car at the beginning, qualification for each race in between the races. Just like now when you finish race C you have 5-6 min before the next race C start, that's enough for 2-3 laps of qualifications.

That would be great since most of the time when I start playing I always play for more than one race and many many players are also there filling the same room over and over again.

You get screwed in one race, you have a chance to bounce back at the next.
META car become inexistant mostly.
Qualification reset at every start of new championship.

Do you still have the fuel economy info for Gr.1 cars at Lemans? I want to try it with group C cars at the upcoming race, and am curious which ones have the best chance of making it to the end.

SRT Tomahawk 4.4 laps
Nissan R92CP 4.3 laps
Audi R18 '16 4.2 laps
Porsche 919 4.1 laps

Peugeot L750R 3.7 laps
Hyundai N 2025 3.6 laps
McLaren VGT 3.6 laps
Mazda 787B 3.5 laps

Thank you for the info, sir.
I was thinking I wanted to do the race with the Sauber Mercedes or the Mazda 787B.
Looks like the R92CP beats them both pretty badly on fuel. We need some fuel economy BoP. :grumpy:

Use the new one, that one is better than the R92CP for fuel, 962C I think it is. It's faster while fuel saving.
Hey, I just thought of something. Since GT Sport is so into racing heritage, it seems like they should've done a GT40 one-make race at Lemans by now. 💡
Edit. Or maybe one where we could choose the Ford or a Ferrari from the same era. That would be cool.

Didn't we have that already? It was an N race but it turned into a GT40 one make. The oldie beat all the new crap :)

Hmm. Could be. I may be getting old and have had too much brain damage from beer, but the only ones I can recall at Lemans besides Gr.1, is Toyota 86 one-make, Gr.3, N400 which quickly became F40 one-make (besides some clown in a Raptor), and JasonG's stats site said I also had my -58 SR race there in Gr.4 (would love to have the replay ).

I guess that was the N400 one without the chicane. There were a couple N200 ones but the GT40 ranges from N300 to N600. Different track maybe, can't remember. There is only 65 km on it, I must be imagining things :)

I'm doing low 2:00 laps currently at race B, still finishing 12th lol. 18.8K DR left, almost 10K down today but my lap times have improved from 2:05 to getting close to getting a 1:59 lap. I did finish 8th one race, a dirty one with lots of fallout. Best finish of the day, only lost 7 DR in that one

With the uninspiring races this week I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Livery Editor. The plus side, I’m improving my livery game. :)

Here comes a long one, so grab the popcorn & a beer (or 2). Let's get the bad out of the way first. I chose the Viper because I had calmed down from the madness a couple of days ago. Not great on lap 1, as an R8 felt like he was so fast that he needed to pass me right now. It's lap 1. If he was so much faster, he could have waited & knowing my record, I'll just mess up in due time.

Now for the ugly. This guy claims that I used his car as a brake & pushed him around. Watch for yourself. After the race, he sent my messages that only contained one letter. He's "brave" enough to give me 25% of swearing, but not the other 75%. Afraid that someone might report you & get banned?

Now for the good. I had a great race with another driver, but I forgot to get the replay. I guess there is a reason why I record the in game race feed.

Don't feel too bad for him. I apologized, he said it was a good race. Plus, in the next race, he started right behind me in 2nd, then I proceeded to have a bobble & he got by me cleanly. He did lose some focus & I almost caught up to him at the finish. Too bad more races are like the middle video & not the bottom one.

If that's enough for him to rack up 9 seconds of penalties, I wonder how he'd react to being divebombed. I've seen people like this before, their fuses are too short.

I didn't really see anything you did wrong. His wheel spinned upon corner exit and that caused him to slow down more than normal which led to the (slight) contact.

Nice come back in the first race.

I seen your post tonight after I got off, and thought I recognized the viper from playing. I was in the second video, started in 3rd, 1st ran off the track and took out 2nd in the process. I just held on to first, I don't win often but I'll take it. But I agree that guy was driving like an idiot. I like the livery on the viper it's nice!

I told him after his first message to look at the replay. As we can see, I helped get him up to speed, not used him to slow myself down. I've actually been in races with him before & have had contact as well. He wasn't very sporting at that time either. I'll admit to becoming frustrated/angered/vengeful in the heat of the race. Under most circumstances, retaliation just caused me to get more unhappy with the situation.

Nice come back in the first race.

Thanks. I was ready to chalk up another disappointing finish. But, I always need the practice, & I want to get a handle on my favorite cars. The Viper just feels more docile on track than the Mustang. Yet, I have 7 combined daily race wins in Mustangs, 2 in Vipers. :boggled:

The guy in first ran off the track? Hmm, I started on pole in every race I ran this evening. :dunce: So you see what I mean in the first vid that the Audi could have waited for me to bin it. The livery started on the Mustang, but I didn't have anything for the Viper that I liked. Well, I do now. :p And congrats on that win.

I miss the lobby already. Did 2 races tonight, started in the back for both, mostly A drivers so not got high hopes. Both I get punted lap 1 for no penalty so now riding last 3 seconds behind field. First race the entire rest of lap 1 and all of 2 my tires were dirty, car wouldn't turn or brake, really ugly. Get it under control and catch crashes but nothing too major. 1 menace holds up a group of us, and only quits last turn after crashing there. Finish where I started.

Second race I get punted but the guy just misbraked and lets me back in. The other person back there with us, no. Punts me, no penalty, then I catch them anyway as they are all over the place, get held up as I can't get past clean. Then they finally bin it, and as I get by they quit:mad:. I lost 5 seconds behind that 🤬. Then it was lapping by myself 8 behind the pack. Not losing time, but not gaining until 1 person was trying a 2 stop. They got behind me but caught me last lap. I drive defensive and they keep tapping me in the heavy braking, expecting me to give up. Um, it is the last lap dude, no way. Not driving slow, just as fast as my tires can go, but blocking all the apexes. Nope, get punted straight off that last long sweeping right. No penalty. Finish where I started. They bail immediately.

Don't know why but it was just ugly tonight. Oh well, new races tomorrow. Don't think I started higher than 10th all week so it would be nice to get a chance on a different track. Where maybe I don't keep getting all A lobbies and starting on the chicane or in the corner. But I am not getting my hopes up.
