Okay, races for the next two weeks are properly up now.

November 18-24:
Race A: N100 @ Yamagiwa II, 3 laps, SH
Race B: Gr.4 @ Bathurst, 3 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.3 @ Sardegna B, 15 laps, RH, Tires x7, Fuel x5

November 25 - December 1:
Race A: N200 @ Tsukuba, 5 laps, SM
Race B: Gr.3 @ Red Bull Ring, 5 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.1 @ Sarthe, 5 laps, RH, Tires x11, Fuel x5

Next week's races:
A - I swear, if it's with the Honda Beat...
B - I can try out a car that isn't the Mustang Gr. 4
C - Cool cool.

Following week's races:
A - Roadster Touring Car?
B - Huracan GT3 was a good car last time around... which was 2 months ago.
C - Yeah I'm not going to do a lap guide.

What a ****ing joke.

Maybe I need to go and buy Call Of Duty or something. At times like these I start looking at iRacing again. Zero pleasure in this week's combos and I'm seeing precious little joy for the next two weeks. WTF is the obsession with the RBR, it's a terrible track for racing on. So many potential combinations, so few actually chosen. And so very few you can actually race on. It gets boring pretty quick, I don't have the attention span or patience to try and grind races out during weeks like these.

Last week PD gave us some insight into how good the game could ultimately be with C at Spa. It's almost like they have to offset that by feeding us a **** sandwich for three weeks after.

And if anyone from PD is reading this, I'd love to know why coming off the throttle (hard or soft) makes a mid-engine'd car understeer, per RS01 at Maggiore. The diff in that car, along with the steering control resolution, makes it an unpredictable mess. Literally impossible to put the car where I want to with any kind of consistency. I've never driven a mid-engine'd car that handles anything like that Renault.

I got to admit, I think I am going to enjoy race c in 2 weeks, but next week could be nasty. Those tires are going to be screaming worse than they are at autopolis gr2 this week. At least it is some variation.

Jumping on the boat about variation as well. It has been so long on the same tracks. I have only been online learning the game this year, with only a couple of weeks last year and I am seeing soooooo many repeats. How you guys have been seeing that for over 2 years is crazy. Thousands of combinations we could have by mixing classes, tracks and strategy setups yet it is the same constantly. At least there is a little variation but it seems limited to race c this time.

Sounds like a good description of Monaco.. I know I'll be avoiding it during the dailies.

If Monaco joins GTS, I might even avoid it in the arcade mode.

It would be glorious! Bus stops, walls, blind corners, nasty pit entrance. Added challenge, cone launch a car into the pool! Next week some Bathurst racing. GR.4 though, meh. 3 laps triple meh. I wonder what race C will be.

So, Monaco would be like DTS went to Hades? Again, I'm staying away. And since Bathurst is back, I'd better get back to practising my powerslide down the mountain.

Bathurst. Love it. This will be an alt only race.

Indeed. But, I only have 4 cars to choose from. Eh, I'll make it somehow.

I'm miles off the pace and every corner feels like a surprise! Not touched the META cars yet but unless I can knock 1.5s off my time with them I'm gonna have to mark Maggiore reverse as something of a nemesis and a track to be heavily worked on

I'd say it's worth the effort. I hadn't even touched the R8 before this week. Went out & beat my other QTs by a solid second. Then I turned around & beat that with the Supra, & it's not META. :sly:

All in all, rough time for me at the track this morning. What upset me is the fact that I may now be labeled "dirty" in some other players book. Wich I'm not.:(
The guy in race two is a jerk i think, saw him and a team mate behaving badly yesterday also, and again sayin others were the dirty ones.

All I need are names. Both of my accounts are about the same, so R4M is expendable.

PD, if you're reading this: I would like to apply for the Daily Race Coordinator position.

I'll do it for free.

Be careful what you wish for. I'm a moderator on 2 other forums "for free". But, when people blame us for things out of our control, we just ban the mouthy little twits.

Just doing rough math, without accounting for different weather conditions there are @ 30,000+ possible combos. :irked:

Race C: Gr.3 @ Sardegna B, 15 laps, RH, Tires x7, Fuel x5

Too bad it isn't Sardegna A, no church bells to be heard. Should be an enjoyable one still. I was afraid Tsukuba would change from 5 to 16 laps and be next week's Race C instead.

Race A: N200 @ Tsukuba, 5 laps, SM
Race B: Gr.3 @ Red Bull Ring, 5 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.1 @ Sarthe, 5 laps, RH, Tires x11, Fuel x5

A: A notable change from the norm is Sport Medium tyres otherwise, cookie cutter Tsukuba race. I hope it isn't the BRZ/86 combo again. Nissan Silvia K? It came along with the August 1.43 update and yet to be used.

B: Meh. Second time RBR in the space of two weeks. As much as I like Gr.3, I don't think it's gonna persuade me to race here.

C: I do enjoy Gr.1 at Le Mans but I'd like to have raced somewhere different for a change. Fuel and tyre multipliers are the same as last time.

How you guys have been seeing that for over 2 years is crazy

I've foolishly always had an expectation creative and original races would appear regularly again but so far, not happened. Sometimes an enjoyable set of races appear then a week of mundane races follows right after. No consistency.

When races were truly daily, there was a plethora of original and fresh combos. Always something to keep me coming back. Given a whole week to plan races ahead, you'd think we'd see more originality instead of stagnant repeats.

Supra was the first car I drove there (picked it for Manufacturers so I'm always up for using it!), I've since gone a second quicker in the Audi which is just class around there and I feel there's a lot more to come from that. As I've been switching cars though I've been learning the track more, especially the turn in points for the blind corners so we'll see what a Saturday session brings before I crash and burn in the FIAs!

I've been having some more fun on Spa today in VR :)

I put 3 laps together:
2:16.989 Jaguar XJ13 '66
1:47.766 F1 WO8 EQ Power+
1:23.322 SRT Tomahawk X VGT

I can actually drive the Tomahawk in VR :)

Not sure what I'll do next week. Bathurst is great yet 3 laps GR.4 sucks. Sardegna is ok ish, I guess another fuel save race.

That's 3 weeks (including this one) of absence from the game for me.. Wau

I thought Kaz said he'd talk to the team about the daily races..
I remember seeing changes, but I'maassuming they're no longer in effect now..

I have only been online learning the game this year, with only a couple of weeks last year and I am seeing soooooo many repeats. How you guys have been seeing that for over 2 years is crazy.

It wasn't always like this...
Back when the races were actually daily (meaning they'd change everyday), some combos were insane..

My first ever victory was at Brands Hatch Indy (the short track) on fricking Gr.2 cars...
Looking at how things are right now, I find it hard to believe that ever happened
We need whoever set those combos back ASAP..

Might do the Race C’s next two weeks, but don’t have a lot of confidence in them. What’s with this disdain for RM option on anything not Gr.2?

You should just reupload all your laps guides from two months ago

I only "update" a previously done guide if:
1. I get a better time than the one before.
2. The old video does not have both imperial and metric units shown.
3. A strategy (C race) has not been added.

For the Gr. 1 race guide at Sarthe, I will be replacing the older video to add the strategy.* If it is the exact same fuel and tire usage as last time, then I'll need to start dusting off the TS050.

* I should still have the original finished guide, so I can splice it and put the strategy in between the commentary and non-commentary parts.

If you look into and through the corners, you will go quicker :)

VR does look cool though!

Stayed away from the races so far, that was until this morning where i decided to "checkout Autopolis", it wasn't pretty i messed up breaking points and even took out a fellow racer. I am so bad at that track in such a fast car, i think i will stay away for the rest the week and not inflict more damage on my fellow players..

To get my spirits up i decided to the Merc AMG GT out on Spa, i feel good again.. a daily race with this car on Spa would spectacular!

Couldn’t improve on my main account Maggiore qually this morning.
I’ve got to do more racing, so off to second account to get a feel for it.
Qually time on this account is about half a second slower than main account.

Race 1

Started 6th. Pole was a B/S driver with a low 1:57s.
Mostly B/S and D/S grid.
Finished 4th, 8 seconds behind the leader.
My fastest lap was 1:59.952. Got myself a CRB too.
This account is up 7 SR and back to 93 SR.

Race 2

Started 10th. All B/S grid. Pole was 1:58.098.
A close field of drivers.
My main account qually time would have put me on pole.

I binned it at the banked hairpin! Now last!
Made it back to 11th.
Blue SR, now 97.

Race B doesn't look to be an SR killer, at least with this small sample.

Its now mid-afternoon, so I’ll avoid the races.

Gone to Yamagiwa II in time trial mode in the Honda Beat. The car is a death trap!
Tried different BB settings. None of them feel right. Lift off oversteer is a bit strong!
I can see now why I don’t have a time listed for it on my dailies spreadsheet. I must have done a lap and thought **** this!

Today, I’ve 10 laps for a best 2:16.151. Opt is 2:15.302.

With Mount Panorama and Sardegna B next week, I don’t think I’ll spend much time at Yamagiwa if it is the Honda Beat.

I dunno, I really like turnopolis for the gr2. There’s a couple spots there where my Lexus really shines on it’s default tcs3.
I gain advantage from people running alfresco sliding around not getting power down, and having to tiptoe outta the slow corners.
Maggiore reverse is a nightmare for me. Waaay too difficult to even think about trying to learn.

give us a Race D and E on a weekly basis as it is now

I think an extra 2 races would spread out the playerbase too far. Matchmaking can already be sketchy with the current 3 races depending on the time of day. Adding a further 2 races would amplify that and make it worse.

Although maybe not to the same extreme, it could lead to situations like @sturk0167's:

bda5f0671a.jpg

I do like the idea of a 4th race that changes each day and experimentation beyond the standard 3 races. It should warrant a test pilot to see how matchmaking would go and how it'd affect the player pool. From time to time, a community vote for next week's races could be interesting too.
