I don't know how you can say it'as boring. If a person can lap almost as fast without stops as they can with stops, then where's the boredom? What are you gaining by trying to kill the car?

If you aren't saving the car, then a pass should be easy, right? If the pass isn't easy, then you're wasting the car for nothing.

This is racing 101 - There isn't a road racing series in the world where the racers aren't actively managing the tires and fuel to maximize their results. Even pit stop races.

Cole Trickle thought it was best to beat the car too :)

I'm running 1:22's in the Ferrari while conserving.

0 brake balance. Use your brakes more than engine braking. Up-shift quickly on corner exit (even before hitting the go pedal) so the rears don't spin up on exit. The nature of the engine in that car makes it fantastic at this track.
Lolll do you know i race irl ? Shift at 4000rpm irl in 20 year i never saw that i have race a porsche cayman gt4 at GP3R and couples endurance race and the only time you see someone shift at 4000rpm like you guys do in GTS its in the warm up lap

What's going on with race A today? That Honda is really hard to drive in qually, thankfully it's a bit easier in the race, I'm 4.8 secs off the fastest time in EMEA... and I'm 60th...
Nobody likes it...it is a repeat of their crappy list of race a n100.

I really don't care about most of their races lately. No diversity with the options available.

Downforce is what's killing F1.

MotoGP goes to many of those same tracks. Tire conservation is paramount, and they don't get to stop. Whichever compound they choose has to last the race and the ri

It's not downforce that is killing F1. If the cars had massive more downforce and they made the tracks four times as wide it would still be fun because there would be space to overtake. In F1 safety now plays a major role and that doesn't do well with entertainment. MotoGP is fun because they drive as fast as ****. And overtake, because it's possible.

Ummm, physics is killing f1

Yes, you could very well argue that. Still, F1 was fun to watch before, and they haven't updated the physics. They rebuild the tracks, they are making tires that won't last and they regulate everything, from the amount of fuel carried, via the amount of fuel used per time unit to the weight of everything and the downforce they can have.
Pretty soon F1 will be a one make race with no overtaking possibly. Fastest qualifying wins. I remember when I started to watch F1, when Lauda and Villeneuve (his dad) and Hunt, Stewart, Fittipaldi, Andretti made it exiting! You never knew who would win before the race was over.

The chicane at the bottom of the hill is a 🤬 show. The initial right-to-left transition pisses the car off so much. I just can't remember how I did it last time. I suppose slowing down a lot more could end being faster. :boggled: Trying to go fast through there, is a fools errand.

Aero means cars can't follow. Artificial overtaking aids such as DRS have been added but that's only so effective. They're changing the aero so, amongst other things, the wake is reduced and deflected upwards. F1 has been **** for ages. It's not that long ago that there were about 10 cars in the grid that could win and there would be genuine racing and competition. Since the hybrid age it's been Mercedes 1st and the rest squabbling over the leftovers. Can't remember the last time I watched a race.

RACE A!!! Did you guys notice, that in top runs lap time dont match with the time on the right of the screen????
Time on the middle says 2:06 and time on the left says 2:20??? This is from emea top 1 replay.

In my replay, its same on both. 2:14

Yeah, something weird happened this morning when I was doing laps there. I got 2:10.8, then stopped to see if it got me to the top 10. It did, but it said I had 2:10.9, which I never did on any of my laps. After a while, it changed my time.

Something weird is happening, because there's also 4 people that are already under the fastest time from the last race, and it's only Monday. :odd:
Additionally, @MattJones_e36 and Lester are both about 1.3 seconds faster than they were last time.

In no way do I believe that those two have done anything wrong, but something is up.

Matt, what's happening?

Sure, go 3 wide into the Chase, works every time.

There go the distance markers again.

In that emea replay, the difference in time is 14sec.
2:06.xxx for lap 2 and 2:20.xxx for lap 2
It should be same time on both

When I go in on my ALT I am going to design a new livery, maybe some army camp or olive drab with like a gun on it lol.
I won’t be looking for trouble, but if trouble finds me.
Yellow Megane is 99 percent chance dirty or outta control or a little of both.
I treat liveried Megane normal, there are people who at least take the time and appreciate the car.
@Sven Jurgens
What’s your average number of crashes witnessed per race lol?
I got it at minimum 5.

Hey, you wanna have some fun? Start at the back, and on lap 1 take out all the distance markers, then watch the hilarity that ensues next time around.
Sven actually gets credit for that idea.

Are we talking about F1 or PD F1? 2 totally different entities.

I've been finishing 4th while only passing one or two cars, do the math

I'm surprised my SR is still at 99. The penalty system has improved or is just less sensitive cause I have not been able to avoid all out of control cars. A few times I was certain a BS penalty was going to pop up, but nope. Most races end with a lot of red ratings though. Penalties and SR Downs are given out like candy as usual.

Time on the middle says 2:06 and time on the right says 2:20??? This is from emea top 1 replay.

The times on the right will be the times you've set yourself in that session, not what the person you're watching has done. Took me a few times of watching replays thinking "they're about the same speed as my laps" before figuring it out!

But IRL , there aren't fuel usage and tire wear multipliers, never mind that the multipliers aren't the same single value. Never mind that real life doesn't reset you on track if you screw up, or allow you to have contact unscathed, etc, etc, etc. Fuel maps don't work the way the in game fuel map thingy works, the list is MA-HOO-SIVE of the things that are not like real life. Comparing the two beyond some elementary elements is somewhat pointless.

It's a game. The object of the game is to get to the end of the race first. If shifting at 4000 (or whatever) is the way to get to the end fastest, then that's what you do.

Don't get me wrong. I am not necessarily a proponent of how the strategy plays out, but I don't consider it boring or easy either. The room for error is still minimal.

The last time I was at the race track IRL, I left in the back of an ambulance so, there are a lot of benefits to the liberties they take with realism :)

Race B always beware of the yellow Meganes

This one missed me, another yellow one bumped me off later at Griffins bend.
PD, can you add an auto report feature I can set up for yellow Meganes 💡

They seem to be just aiming for that 7speed

@Groundfish I'd got the Viper to a 2:14:5xx. There is more to get but I need to string it together. She drives very nice at Bratwurst. Even though it'll hurt my rating, I'll stick with it 👍 I am used now of being a field-filler
