First Race C went well...

I planned to let him pass since I was hit at the corner after the penalty area (ton of traffic, pretty chaotic) and accidentally went into the side of them. So he found his "revenge" by purposely punting me off and doesn't get a penalty for it. I guess it's what happens when you try to be sporting in this game. GT-R and A/S lobby so maybe I shouldn't be too surprised.

I finished 14th by gaining a couple of spots from pit stoppers. Probably could've done better if I hadn't commit an epic fail by slipping off the track at the top of the hill, spinning and hitting the barrier. Hopefully next race will yield a better result.

Lap 3 went much better, it’s definitely different than last time though.

I surprised myself. Once you get the hang of it, it's not all bad to drive. You have to treat it like a princess otherwise she'll spin on you. I hit the 2:10s as well, previous best at the last combo was 2:16.9.

I am not taking this game seriously
Makes sense to me.
I still remember when I picked up my Copy of GT Sport.
It was at Best Buy, and they had it in their game section.
Because of that, I can understand more than one side of those cheating debates.
I play for entertainment, and nothing that anyone else does with their game is all that important to me.

But it is under sports inside the game section. That used to confuse me when I was young. I don't consider Need for speed and Burnout sports

Had a go at race C this morning before work. Bit confusing though. Supposed to be a no stop but it might turn into the last omterlagoa race for me where it was simply faster in the long run to pit right.

Struggled mightily to make it on fuel in the Lexus so.went for my Batman Citroen since it was so good on fuel at Spa. Still a bit of a struggle on fuel but just have to shift a little earlier than I thought. Ran out at the line, but the tires on that thing! All good working smooth lines up until lap 11 when it falls off a cliff. No real warning so just really had to feather the throttle so.much more after that to get it through those sweeping turns.

Any ideas on how long the pit stop is? I ran mostly 1:23 mids until the tires went so only a second off my QT until the end while saving fuel, and even making big gains I have stoppers passing with the better tires. Once I go to stopping I think car choice doesn't matter as much then. Anybody having any real luck no stopping there?

Yes

All other things being equal, some cars simply cannot maintain good pace while saving enough fuel to get to the end of the race. Unless you are an alien (which I am not).
I don't know, you ran off and left the lot of us in my race last night! I think it was you, name looks like the one who dusted our field in the 458 while no stopping

Maybe an unpopular opinion: Race A has been fun. I've had mix-matched matchmaking which suggests it's not very popular although all clean races. I would've preferred a different car but the track itself makes up for it, one of my favorites. Very flowing and feels fresh each time I race on it.

People probably started up the Beat, went around the first corner before giving up and saying "nope". Might be the reason for its dive in popularity.

Yeah that was me.

I eventually did a race time of 20:26, will see how that stacks up later in the week when more people have entered. There are definitely a few more seconds on the table.

Yeah, great race then. In my race this morning I finished better and ran much better, but the A+ at the front of this one clocked a 2:18 so they are getting much faster. And there is definitely more time on the table. Although those hard curbs there are nasty for me if I miss align the corner.

A total race time of 20:18 is seriously impressive. What car and driver?

Guessing at least half of the lap times would need to be under 1:21.0 (without stopping) to pull that off.

Can't remember driver but was in the supra. I started in 6th and they were out of sight by the top of the hill out back on lap 1. We had a freight train P2 to P6 and we didn't see him even on the straight after lap 4. Like they nailed a qualifying lap almost every lap.

I think I am hearing you can push the supra far more on fuel, but I can't manage the tires on that or the 458 well enough to give it a shot with them.

Edit: thought about it some more and ran a rough calc on my lap times versus how far back I was at end. They would have been a 28. My stupidity trying to figure it out while getting dressed for work. I'll have to start writing this stuff down. Old memory not doing so well it seems. I can still see that 18 in my head though.

I can say that they had a QT in the 1:19 range and they did play down a 19 during the race for fastest lap.

Started on Race C today, going to try some neglected cars before eventually going across to my mains. Got a high 20s in the Viper which I'm pretty happy with. I find this car sort of rewarding, its got a tonne of torque and rear grip so angling the car to get good drive on exit rewards you with better and better lap time.

It all depends who you're racing. I finished in the top 10, starting from last 17/17, in the NSX. Made up lots of places with cars holding one another up. Just a couple cars spinning too.
However, I did pass about 4 Cars as they pit. Seems like the fuel takes a long time.

I'll most likely qualify and pit stop next races. RC F, 458, Mclaren F1, Ford GT.

I am thinking I am just struggling on properly saving fuel, and apparently math and memory today too.:guilty:

RC F was good! Started 14/16. Finished 13th.

Was tracking nicely. Made up some spots. Was running side by side with an F-Type, until it lost control and brushed me on the grass at the final set of corners.

Pitted on lap 5 from last place. Moved up to 9th battling an F1. Got passed it and battled a 458 that one lap later. I was having better traction out of corners. Had clean side by side swaps, but I was going to stop anyway.

Grabbed 2 laps of fuel and tyres on Lap 11. Was gaining on an M6 that passed me at pit exit. An NSX served a penalty in the last lap. It's ghosting up the hill. The M6 is trying to go outside while the NSX hogs the middle of the road still flickering. I take the inside to avoid. The NSX unghosts and clobbers me and the M6. NSX goes of track. Me and the M6 get 3 and 4 seconds respectively.👎

Used the SLS at the mountain. Started 5th. Finished 2nd versus a Megane, Mustang, Mustang, WRX.

Megane got 4 seconds for wall contact. I passed the WRX as it went wide at the Cutting. Passed the Shell V-Power Mustang as it got loose at the Dipper.

SLS revs are so slow and it's not really exciting to drive as I remember. Did the job though. 1.9 seconds behind P1 Mustang and 1.5 seconds ahead of the Shell Mustang.

I have to recommend that you DO NOT watch Lester's lap replay at race A. It's a soul-crushing visual, that will just leave you feeling inadequate. :grumpy:
The Honda Beat really sucks. I don't remember it being so difficult, when we had the same race combo in February. I can't finish 2 laps in a row with getting a penalty and having to restart.
Nobody on my friends list has even recorded a lap yet, so perhaps you guys already know this.
Might be a good race for the alt account if you just wanna bend some metal.
I just got home, but can confirm: this combo is an atrocious one.

Got the Beat down to a 9.7, thats .2 better than the last time we had this combo and it took me all week to get it last time. I can’t believe I saved it coming down the hill, I thought it was gone for sure.

BB-5 :)

No cones. Cant be your lap :lol:
What steering rotation setting you use?
When testing yesterday, I used 180deg steering and got my time to 2:14.
Will hunt your time tonight for sure :)

Did 2 races on Mount Panorama last night. First one, no qualy - finished 14th. Got punted around a bit and binned it myself at a corner or two. Went into qualy afterwards - only managed a high 2:17.

Was still good for 5th on the grid (I have sunken down to a D rating on DR, thats why a 2:17 gives me 5th place). Had I gotten my Q time from last time, a 2:16:4xx, I would have started 2nd.

Managed to not bin it in this race. Passed one car on the track, and another that spun out, ended up 3rd. And missed fastest lap by 0.020.

The first race had dropped my DR enough, that this 3rd place only got me to within 20 points of where I started.

Nevertheless - I think I can repair my DR on this track this week.

Also - a few weeks ago it was the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama. There is this promotional video, that gets you really hyped up for the track:

In case someone needs hyping up for Mount Panorama. Its also a pretty good track guide.

But getting faster and smoother. Might have to try pitting next race.

Edit: and that is why I shouldn't post between races. Now had 2 races tonight. Both got really reckless drivers, just messy. Not good for SR. On the plus, moved up well both races. Went from 14th to 6th in first race, then I screwed up the final turn and had the bash pack catch me, ended up 12th. Wasn't bad, just lots of bumping and banging. Second race had a massive punt into the wall at the bottom. Of the valley. And of course no penalty. But I did finish ahead so it worked out.

I think they must have one stopped if they hit a 1.19 in the race and no stopping the Supra is nigh on impossible anyway as its terrible at saving fuel.

Supra is a weird car on fuel. Driving flat out(shifting at 50-70%) it's actually not to bad on fuel economy, it will do 12 laps in race C like this but saving fuel is really tough in it.

Even moving to fuel mix 2 and shifting before the bar appears isn't enough to save enough fuel to do 15 laps

Going to use it today and try work out a fuel strat to do the non stop. I like a challenge
