And I am down to 2200 DR :(. Did a few races in Lago Maggiore with only the last one being halfway decent. Tried one race around Autopolis with desastrous results.

Looking forward to Mount Panorama this week. I got my first win there a few weeks ago in a F-Type. Did 19 races there back then.

Had my own try at race C. No stop in the 2017 Emily lexus. Didn't go so well as I didn't nail my smooth lines till about 4 laps in. Struggled to get to the end. Looked like a clean race, just a lobby faster than I was at this time.
Guy at front no stopped in the 458 and won by almost 12 seconds. I was in the back all race and just didn't have enough pace to make any ground. Had it in FM2 and short shifted, had to drop it to FM3 last 3 laps to make it. Time to experiment with other cars. AMG seemed to be solid around there in my race so maybe that is next. No issues with tires.

Bathurst is a Mégane Fest 👎
Bathurst has always had unlikely seeming metas... check this out:

Edit: Mind you, Peter Brock (the Castrol car in the second one and Marlboro in the third) was an alien. I remember him doing a final lap in that race with his right hand out the window waving acknowledgement to the crowd while still posting a lap time within a few tenths of his fastest lap.
Edit 2: Just now watcing a documentary I realise I should say Peter Brock the Australian racing driver, NOT Peter Brock the Shelby America automotive designer.

Okay yeah, I think I'm going to enjoy this week's Daily Race C a lot. To be fair my standards are pretty much in the toilet after the absolute load of ***** that was Autopolis. I got nothing against the track really, but for some reason I just couldn't finish a single goddamn race without spinning myself somewhere.:banghead:

So, Sardegna, eh? Never driven this variation before and I also didn't do any practice beforehand so the 15 minute qualifying before the race was all I had. But I mean, it is a fairly simple circuit so 15 minutes is very much enough to get familiar with it.

The first half of the race was generally pretty chaotic, lots of people spinning around and others getting irrationally big penalties. I got my fair share of near-death experiences aswell but luckily, no penalties.

I also had this extremely lucky moment later that lap:

The rest of the race was pretty chill, barely any action for 10 laps. Then on Lap 13, the 4sec gap to the two guys in front started coming down really fast. First it dropped to 2.5sec, then to 1.5sec, and by the time I started the final lap he was basically right in front of me. He kept taking really weird lines through lots of corners, and eventually messed up the entry into the Valley section which lost him a lot of momentum.
Theeeen this happened:

For the remaining half a lap I was strongly considering giving back the position to him, but I ultimately decided not to. Still not completely sure how to feel about it.

In the end, I was happy with P4, and my DR is the highest it's been since St. Croix. Good times.

Nothing unseemly about the A9X. Mightnt be the largest car but its a wolf in wolf's clothing.

First race on the mountain. Spun by a Megane in the cutting, then another megane wants to go side by side through reid park, taps the wall then me 5 sec penalty. Another 5 sec megane penalty in the esses. 11th place finish, -17 SR. Good start!

I see Sardegna is a fuel save race after all :banghead:

Race 2, Megane bumps me off in the final lap, he gets the penalty. 5th place finish, +4 SR.

Race 3, laggy Brazilian bumps me on the start straight, I guess 2 thirds of the road wasn't enough for him, SR Down for me. 6th place finish, +3 SR. Meganes crashing all over the place.

Time for me to bring out the Huracan, Veyron and Viper again then. I'll be avoiding the yellow cab like last time.

I'd like to see the Megane soft/stealth nerfed whenever Bathurst is in rotation, we'd some more variation that way. The average number of them in my races last time was beyond ridiculous.

Going in with the Viper right now. Probably against 19 meganes

Edit: lolz... Méganes all over indeed....

Race c is kinda of fun, with the fuel saving. But I think they should make the races so that one stop and no stop are more similar in total race time.

I also tried the Beat! And its a shame with the BOP, because the drive does not feel very good with that many horsepowers, the transmission cant handle it as well. I really like driving low hp cars, but if u tune them up with more hp they just get twitchy and feel strange.

ugh another megane one make (red bull ring was full of em) and another fuel save race.

At least i love bathurst. I will stick to my usual pick whatever car i feel like and get punted by an impatient megane strat.

Pd im still waiting for Race B/C Bathurst Gr3 to come back. We didnt need gr4 AGAIN.

I tried a race C, fuel saving in the Lexus. Unfortunately I came back in too late and found my wife trying to find the throttle to keep it from timing out  With 40 seconds behind I still made it to 9th but got timed out right before the finish. SR maxed again, try again. A 911 won that race with 1:22 best lap. I was doing 1:24 laps fuel saving in the Lexus after I got used to it. If I can go 2 sec faster per lap without fuel saving I should be pitting. Of course more cars in the way when you try to go faster from the back in a fuel save race.

Race C is a no stop? I did some practice last night and pushed throughout with a pit stop for fuel and tires and it seemed pretty good. The pit stop times are so short that it seems like a waste of time trying to manage fuel. The tires can do the distance, but I figure you might as well change them since you are entering the pits anyway.

I will probably run 24s when saving fuel, but when pushing im comfortably in the 22s. Let's say I go 1.5 seconds slower while fuel saving. After 15 laps that's 22.5 seconds, which is longer than a full pit stop around here. You might have to fight some no stoppers, but they shouldn't be much of a problem unless they are dirty drivers.

This is using the Supra btw, I recently purchased a new Toyota irl so I have to represent lol

Like last week, I had in my break a shot at Race B.

Oh dear, I´m really slow. It took a few weeks ago an incredible amout of laps to come down to 2.15.882.

Had one lap with a GT86 and crossed the line with 2.22.8xx, so I decided to go mainstream and switched immediately to the Megane (no, it has a livery. I will not use this one with the standard yellow, this gives me a headache).

Accomplished 2 laps, one with 2.17.8xx. Started at 12 of 16, slowest with a qualifying time... :scared:

Race was uneventful as the spanish guy in a TT behind me messed up T1, so I had not to worry to get bombed away or something like that. Followed the pack, had some luck with a spin of a Ferrari and two TT´s taking a bath in the gravel. Finished 9th. DR down a bit, SR still 99.

Think that will be a hard week to come back to a good pace.

I did a comparison, went flat out with the Lexus this time and can indeed got 1.5 sec faster per lap, 1:22.5 laps with clear road vs 1:24.0 laps while fuel saving with clear road. The pit stop took about 17 seconds with a tire change. So theoretically 15 x 1.5 = 22.5 vs 17 seconds, pit stop is faster.

However from the back, chaos first few laps then fuel savers in the way, more like 1:23.2 laps on average with traffic, plus having to overtake the same fuel savers again after the pit stop. No stop, safer and faster in the end. It really depends on what's in the way.

Oh Canada's dirtiest driver was in that race again, in a GT-R, left with one of the two red S in the race. Pretty hard to lose SR in that one.
