I won’t be training a fake mute Indian to play basketball behind chain link fence and barb wire anytime soon.

@NevilleNobody Congratulations, you are today's recipient of me trying not to be a dick whist being a dick.

Because the racing is so turd I've hot lapped the Gr.4 Lancer a bit. I would agree the back end can feel light. It only feels like it's coming around on me at the Cutting and Forest Elbow. I actually wonder whether this is a simulated version of the Lancer's Active Yaw Control (if the ingame version has it). I've driven a lot of Lancers and their handling takes a bit of getting used to as they can do this and you need to learn to work with the chassis. I find it stable in almost all places - good on bumps, ride kerbs, goes well. It's also very neutral when you feed the power in and you can get on the gas very early. This needs to be used to get a lap. Also, the gearing is an issue. Took me a few laps to get the right corner/gear. And you're just about on the limiter down conrod at 159.

Net result: 2:13.9 after five laps (with a wheel on the dirt at Skyline). There's room to get that down a bit. BB 0. I can post a replay if you wish. For context, my Megane lap is 2:12.6 (I've put it in the 11s before).

Makes me wanna try the Lancer....

btw: here is the low 2:13 with the Viper

Back into qualifying for the dailies and I'm Beat. Seriously, that 🤬 Honda in race A is killing me. I'm normally good with the slower cars but I'm barely into the 2:11s. If I was any more gradual with the steering inputs I'd be going straight on! Problem is now I've set a lap, I have to work to get it down to a good time!

No such issues at Sardegna, quite pleased with my time in the Lambo there and another three or four tenths left in the tank. Hopefully get some racing done tomorrow... if that Honda lets me!:banghead:

The lancer is a car that says to me I’m slow but with a tow a lunging I will go.
The Stang can hit 163 easily no draft down Conrod and it’s already 4 mph faster mid Conrod.
I think if a person is trying to get the laptime in handling cars you need a fast lobby and a fuel saving c race in most cases.
For your average race at Bathurst it’s a poor choice imo.
The only way you will pass is getting tow and divebombing brake zones.
With a power car you can get track position much more safely and overtake without risking offing people.
Plus AWD is not my favorite.
I am Shaolin not Shaobomb.

Still haven't and won't be touching the honda again. Loving working on my consistency at race B. I still mess up to much for joining races, but getting close. I hope to do a lot of races on saturday. So far my best car is the Aston. I got a 14.138 but my opt is 13.240.... haven't had much time this week either which is not helping me improve/learn.

I'm still lapping in the 2:20s at Bathurst :banghead: I think as a new racer, it has some challenges that'll take a lot of laps to overcome. I should probably spend some time watching some videos, too. I don't know if it's going to happen this week. It does kind of bum me out though, because I'm not sure the races at RBR or at Sarthe next week will be for me either.

Re: Race A -- the first week I had the game was the Clio at Goodwood. That car was fun to drive, and the racing was too. Why can't we have more cars like that for the single make?

Was someone asking how the top Race A times are so fast?

Interesting that the second cut isn't even a penalty. I wonder if serving the other (pathetically small) penalty somehow allowed them to escape getting another one as the penalty zone arrives very quickly. It's a bit like the "stay off the track before the finish line" cheat in that sense. :dopey:

Or does it really not give a penalty at all, (or is it DR/SR dependant)? In any case you can likely do this all race as well as in qualy. Why can't people just stop cheating? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Tried the 86 at the mountain on my alt account. That thing is slippery.

Switched to my normal account, one more Gr.3 in the Atenza before I head out. Starting 7th. NO fuel saving, going to see how I go flat out, with tyre change as well.

Race C this week is really good for this. Take the Ferrari. I use -1 BB to spread the tire wear out and if you just follow the line and you're smooth, you can run mid 1:22's all race like clockwork.

I tried the 1 stop strategy with the Audi and the Lambo, but I found that as the tires wear down, lapping in the high 1:21's is normal. With the Ferrari being able to run with (many of) the 1 stoppers, while saving fuel at the same time, it just seems like a lock to finish well. In the last race I did, one of the Ferrari's got spun out early on and he recovered to finish 2nd.

I tried the Ferrari. The good, I'm faster in it than the Lexus. The bad, from the back, I got bumped and punted off in more than half the laps. My tires were almost halfway gone by the end. I didn't get under 1:23 since my tires were already pretty bad once traffic finally cleared up (most pitted). I was in 4th for 2 laps before getting punted off again, finished 7th in the end. One of the rammers left with a red B, another with a red A, impressive with the amount of SR this week's race C provides. The penalty zone is totally ineffective where it is so they just keep doing it :/

Watch the vids from @Mistah_MCA and work your way through the circuit challenge. That should bé a great help.

Tried that Lancer GR4. Very stable, great on the brakes and corners. Lacks a bit straightline speed but great drive. Faster than my Viper

Lancer 2:13:351
Mazda 2:13:357
Viper 2:13:366

Well well, Who would have thought that :dunce:

I just watched his lap video. They're a godsend. The only reason I was able to get around Spa was because of them. I think I'm losing a lot of time because of poor brake points on the straights, so I think it might help a bunch. Not 6 seconds a bunch -- I'll have to put the time in on the mountain too. The circuit challenge is a gr 3 McLaren, but the general idea is probably the same. I ran it a few times earlier, and I obviously need the practice.

I'll post both laps of the Mazda and Mitsubishi. Maybe they can help ;)

This requires some breaking down.

I tried the Ferrari. The good, I'm faster in it than the Lexus.

It's faster than pretty anything that is also trying to conserve. It's faster than most cars that are going all out.

The bad, from the back, I got bumped and punted off in more than half the laps.

That isn't the car's fault. You know how it goes, the further down the pack you are, the more dangerous it is, however (on to the next point)

My tires were almost halfway gone by the end. I didn't get under 1:23 since my tires were already pretty bad once traffic finally cleared up (most pitted).

-1 BB helps spread out the wear. Also, as I've mentioned before (in regards to the Ferrari), you really need to rely on brakes for stopping and avoid engine braking as much as possible. That ot only settles the car, but it helps wear. On corner exit of the hairpins, up shift almost immediately to 3rd. Anytime the tires spin, upshift. I'm shifting around 7000rpm. It should be almost equal to any other car out there.

The tires should be only about 1/3rd done by the end of the race. My fast lap in the race is usually a high 1:21 or 1:22 flat and on the later laps I am doing 1:22.6 - 1:22.8. I usually finish the race in under 20:40

I was in 4th for 2 laps before getting punted off again, finished 7th in the end. One of the rammers left with a red B, another with a red A, impressive with the amount of SR this week's race C provides. The penalty zone is totally ineffective where it is so they just keep doing it :/

Again though, that's not the car's fault. It's still the car to use in my opinion. I bet focusing on staying out of the way and running clean lines will still result in a good finish.

As the old saying goes Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

Back to SR.B at race B from 4 Brazilian BS penalties. It's simply impossible to share the track with some people. I really wish there was an option not to get matched with Brazil. It would save a lot of frustration. It had nothing to do with lag, simple turn in on you as if you're not there or screw up and spin out in the middle of the dipper with no chance to avoid.

Again though, that's not the car's fault. It's still the car to use in my opinion. I bet focusing on staying out of the way and running clean lines will still result in a good finish.

In this case it was: slow is get punted off  It was an afternoon race, chaos. I really shouldn't call it a race at all. The car is indeed fine, I doubt I would have fared any better in the Lexus or anything else in the race. 5 trips through the gravel and getting bumped sideways through the corner, no tires can withstand that. I prefer staying behind until the carnage dies down but in that race I would have had to park for a lap lol.

I'll give it another shot later now my SR is stuck in the black hole again. The ferrari is really well suited to that track, when you get a chance to drive on the line without getting bump it is buttery smooth. No issues with fuel either despite all the stop starts after getting bumped off again. I did forget to set the brake balance, thanks for the reminder. The back tires were more worn than the front.

Btw I never engine brake, I'm always late downshifting and take the corners in a higher gear when fuel saving. I don't drop below 3rd anywhere in the race. Dunno if that's fast, it's stable at least.

Have you tried cutting the chicanes?

I adore race C. I really do.

I have some German in my genes so it's fitting that I feel schadenfreude whenever someone who was "racing" with me is on a 1 stop strategy. The post race commentary can be glorious at times. I can almost feel that smug feeling of superiority from that other driver through the controller. I can see them just going for it, and they think I am doing the same, then there's the pit stop and I swear I can hear the groans.

I think that is what is making the sound in this video (which is currently of unknown origin)

My Mustang is broken, nowhere near an "easy" 163 on Conrod with no tow.

Can you post your lap?

A good way to realise how far you have to go, besides finishing like I have lately, is to check in on kie's stream and watch him do the same race, same car, same tactic and only go slower than my qualifying lap once while passing everyone from the back. :(

On the plus side I have learned where i have been screwing up some turns and seen that what i thought were my odd lines through the sweepers are fast lines for the tactic.

Looking at his races I think sardegna b encourages close racing but also encourages bombers due to the wide entry turn ins for the optimum lines on a lot of the corners. The BS penalty zone spot doesn't help. I am going to do well before I bail on it. Just need to find a lobby with good matchmaking. (And probably knock a second off my QT)

I think what it comes down to initially is knowledge of the track. It's a challenging track, even for professional drivers. When the European drivers show up for the 12 and 6h races there is often comparisons to Nurburgring.

For me anyway, the key parts of the track seem to be the exits for Hell Corner, Griffins Bend, Forrest Elbow, and the entrance to Reid Park. The entrance to Reid Park rewards the bold, but if you get overconfident you get splashed to the four winds .

Never seen a split video like that. That's really cool! 👍

Agree, how do you do it?

Also, anyone having issues with displaying loaded ghosts from you library? They're not appearing for me ingame.

You make them in ShareFactory, I think it’s a standard app on the PS4, if not it can be downloaded from the store. :)

It's Bigfoot, for sure. I've run into that sob many a time.
Tell him next time I see him, its on!
