@NevilleNobody Congratulations, you are today's recipient of me trying not to be a dick whist being a dick.
Because the racing is so turd I've hot lapped the Gr.4 Lancer a bit. I would agree the back end can feel light. It only feels like it's coming around on me at the Cutting and Forest Elbow. I actually wonder whether this is a simulated version of the Lancer's Active Yaw Control (if the ingame version has it). I've driven a lot of Lancers and their handling takes a bit of getting used to as they can do this and you need to learn to work with the chassis. I find it stable in almost all places - good on bumps, ride kerbs, goes well. It's also very neutral when you feed the power in and you can get on the gas very early. This needs to be used to get a lap. Also, the gearing is an issue. Took me a few laps to get the right corner/gear. And you're just about on the limiter down conrod at 159.
Net result: 2:13.9 after five laps (with a wheel on the dirt at Skyline). There's room to get that down a bit. BB 0. I can post a replay if you wish. For context, my Megane lap is 2:12.6 (I've put it in the 11s before).
Was someone asking how the top Race A times are so fast?
Race C this week is really good for this. Take the Ferrari. I use -1 BB to spread the tire wear out and if you just follow the line and you're smooth, you can run mid 1:22's all race like clockwork.
I tried the 1 stop strategy with the Audi and the Lambo, but I found that as the tires wear down, lapping in the high 1:21's is normal. With the Ferrari being able to run with (many of) the 1 stoppers, while saving fuel at the same time, it just seems like a lock to finish well. In the last race I did, one of the Ferrari's got spun out early on and he recovered to finish 2nd.
I'm still lapping in the 2:20s at BathurstI think as a new racer, it has some challenges that'll take a lot of laps to overcome. I should probably spend some time watching some videos, too. I don't know if it's going to happen this week. It does kind of bum me out though, because I'm not sure the races at RBR or at Sarthe next week will be for me either.
Re: Race A -- the first week I had the game was the Clio at Goodwood. That car was fun to drive, and the racing was too. Why can't we have more cars like that for the single make?
Watch the vids from @Mistah_MCA and work your way through the circuit challenge. That should bé a great help.
I just watched his lap video. They're a godsend. The only reason I was able to get around Spa was because of them. I think I'm losing a lot of time because of poor brake points on the straights, so I think it might help a bunch. Not 6 seconds a bunch -- I'll have to put the time in on the mountain too. The circuit challenge is a gr 3 McLaren, but the general idea is probably the same. I ran it a few times earlier, and I obviously need the practice.
I tried the Ferrari. The good, I'm faster in it than the Lexus.
The bad, from the back, I got bumped and punted off in more than half the laps.
My tires were almost halfway gone by the end. I didn't get under 1:23 since my tires were already pretty bad once traffic finally cleared up (most pitted).
I was in 4th for 2 laps before getting punted off again, finished 7th in the end. One of the rammers left with a red B, another with a red A, impressive with the amount of SR this week's race C provides. The penalty zone is totally ineffective where it is so they just keep doing it :/
Again though, that's not the car's fault. It's still the car to use in my opinion. I bet focusing on staying out of the way and running clean lines will still result in a good finish.
As the old saying goes Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
Back into qualifying for the dailies and I'm Beat. Seriously, that 🤬 Honda in race A is killing me. I'm normally good with the slower cars but I'm barely into the 2:11s. If I was any more gradual with the steering inputs I'd be going straight on! Problem is now I've set a lap, I have to work to get it down to a good time!
No such issues at Sardegna, quite pleased with my time in the Lambo there and another three or four tenths left in the tank. Hopefully get some racing done tomorrow... if that Honda lets me!![]()
The lancer is a car that says to me I’m slow but with a tow a lunging I will go.
The Stang can hit 163 easily no draft down Conrod and it’s already 4 mph faster mid Conrod.
I think if a person is trying to get the laptime in handling cars you need a fast lobby and a fuel saving c race in most cases.
For your average race at Bathurst it’s a poor choice imo.
The only way you will pass is getting tow and divebombing brake zones.
With a power car you can get track position much more safely and overtake without risking offing people.
Plus AWD is not my favorite.
I am Shaolin not Shaobomb.
Never seen a split video like that. That's really cool! 👍

Agree, how do you do it?
Also, anyone having issues with displaying loaded ghosts from you library? They're not appearing for me ingame.
I adore race C. I really do.
I have some German in my genes so it's fitting that I feel schadenfreude whenever someone who was "racing" with me is on a 1 stop strategy. The post race commentary can be glorious at times. I can almost feel that smug feeling of superiority from that other driver through the controller. I can see them just going for it, and they think I am doing the same, then there's the pit stop and I swear I can hear the groans.
I think that is what is making the sound in this video (which is currently of unknown origin)
You make them in ShareFactory, I think it’s a standard app on the PS4, if not it can be downloaded from the store.![]()
