Finally had a really good race at sardegna. I was smooth and fast (for me) and had a few good battles back and forth that were clean. Some minor taps, but racing incidenta off curbs and stuff.

Next race was not to be. The A ranked driver starting in back near me took exception to me not letting him push me off when he went back by after I passed him. Proceeded to side slam me several times and push me wide but I was able to save it. Fed up with that he simply punts me. Back from 11th to 17th. Managed to fight back to 14th but if I could have caught that:censored:🤬🤬

Went for a third race. Lovely. Doing well, up to 6th from 17th due to pitting when one guy gets mad that I stay side by side through the esses section. Don't know if it was deliberate but put me into the gravel at the left sweeper. Cue a loss down to 13th. :banghead::banghead: I keep coming back though. Ended 10th after crashes and others running out of fuel

What a night of racing, holy hell. Started off by making the mistake of running Bathurst on my main in a car that isn't the Megane. After 3 races of bumps and shoves and penalties from Meganes my SR was tanked at 67. Lowest it's ever been. So I bailed on Race B and ran off to Sardegna to hopefully repair my sportsmanship rating. First race I got matched with a lobby of D rated drivers and one other A rated one. Finished in 2nd with a 15s gap to the other A driver in first. Speed demon. Next race I swapped to the Porsche and it was...interesting.

Begin with this T1 destruction derby (the rammer in green lambo will show up later)

Add in some second lap spice

Then we eventually catch up with the green lambo

Only to catch them again a lap later and be greeted by a brake check

All in a single race...unreal. Kept it clean myself though and ended up back at 99 SR after finishing in 10th.

I don't think Lambo man is necessary dirty, I think he's getting acquainted with the handling traits of a Huracan on worn rubber.

Surely completing the circuit experience should be a condition of race entry.
It would be nice, but no. I'm careful to practice a circuit quite a bit before going online if I've never driven it before, but first three days of every week at my level (currently DR-C) there are clearly drivers who've never done more than five laps just before the race in Q. Occasionally I've even seen drivers who're clearly seeing the track for the first time in the race, no Q time and missing every second corner.

My kingdom for a Japanese player that doesn't shove the nose in the first (often non-existent) gap that presents itself.

I haven't had this experience, at least not at my level. DR/Bs tend to do that sort of thing regardless of nationality. I tend to find that the Hong Kong drivers or my fellow Australians are more inclined to do that down in DR/C/D land.

Hey, it works for me ;).

Same region, I find it varies with time of day, which track and how far into the week it is. First few times in Sport Mode it seemed like it was always the Japanese but mostly because the lobbies are nearly always more than half Japanese flags. Overall, different countries do seem to have different driving styles and racing philosophies, but I'd not go so far as to say any one country is any dirtier than any other.

Yeh, you are more likely to find kids earlier. My grids are usually 80%+ Japanese. I usually race at or just after midnight, so about 10pm-ish Tokyo time. But I agree... every driver that isn't me is dirty :p.

Yes, see this all the time, which is why I think they should link a successful circuit experience completion to a conditional element within the game.

Press "Race entry" - game says entry denied as you've not completed the circuit experience.

I'd suggest that would be more beneficial than making watching videos about "things that make you look bad" a condition of entry.

I don't think its a malicious style of driving they tend to do, it's more overzealous and sort of reckless. Say if at Corner 1 I run wide, they'll immediately have a crack at me Corner 2 which is one line only, instead of being patient and carrying the momentum to obvious braking zone and overtaking spot Corner 3.

It's like they'll often prioritise the immediate risky pass when the door is closed than the easier clean pass a couple of corners later. I'll leave a tonne of room for the latter move. I'm not going to when there's only one line through, it common sense and I would think general racing decorum.

edit: this is DR S, A, B btw

I got my race! Some bumping in very minor racing incidents, for example slightly different apex speeds, but nothing to cause problems. Start dead last in 18th, no stop it in the citroen to 4th, and a CRB. Done. Beer drinking and TV time!:cheers:
Good one. Had a cotroen in my last race. That thing keeps good pace on worm tyres and must have excellent economy.

So what you're saying is that *no one* is allowed to race at Spa, and only 1 of the many layouts for Sardegna and Sainte- Croix... yeh.. good luck with that .

Wadda ya talking about? There's probably grass between you and a wall. Grass is part of the track isn't it? ;)

Bathurst, Group 4. My 3rd day in the Hills.

I have taken delivery of the GT4 F-Type. As it took longer than expected to make a livery for it, I had only 3 races to get once again whipped from the FWDs.

1. Race

Qualifying was terrible. Had Gyros German-Style in a Wirtshaus that evening and I could not even move my thumbs. As I tried to go trough the hills I bumbed every single wall PD has installed. So I was forced to start with my 2.15.3x time, produced by my Megane.
Started 11th, finished 12th. Uneventful race except for a Spanish guy in his Ferrari. Pushed me into the walls and I received a 4 sec penalty. Business as usual.

2. Race

Started to feel the Jaguar. Compared to the Aston Martin this one has nearly no understeer but felt a bit more agile than the Viper. Felt comfortable to come closer to the cars limit and I could improve my time with the Jag to 2.14.8 at the first qualifying lap. Was very unlucky with the next lap, as I had probably my Million-Dollar-Lap. Last corner I was 1.9 sec ahead of my time. And about 3 seconds before I could cross the line the race started...
:banghead:
Started 4th, 3 Megane in front and a Spanish Guy with an Lamborghini behind me in the grip. Race start, T1 I had already a Bull knocking at my bumber. Gave me a litle push, a bit of grass, bad traction. long straight and I was behind him at 5th with many scratches at the right after T2. That guy made many small mistakes in the next lap, but it´s Bathurst - you shall not pass! In the second lap of my pursuit the Lambo messed up Forrest´s Ellbow and I was able to cath him, theoretical. No, of course not. He shot straight into the my lane to block me, big bang and 7sec penalty for me. In the third lap I had a Megane trying to overtake on the outside of the Chase, touched me and dived into the grass. 4 sec penalty for me... FML, finished 11th.

3. Race

The Jaguar is awesome. I promise, I will never touch the Megane again at Bathrust. So much more fun with RWD! Was gifted with some sweet candy for my hard work (sitting in front of my TV and pushing some buttons) and improved my time to 2.14.2xx
As I was knocked down with the last race from SR S to SR B I guess I was lucky to find a slow lobby. Poleposition, another F-Type from good old England behind me. He had a hard time at Mountain Straight and Griffins Bend, as he had to battle a Megane. Could gain 2 seconds gap and finished first with 1 sec in the lead.

Next car will be the Mustang!

Just ran two at the mountain in the F-Type, DR-C beginners night by the look of it. Not dirty, but no racecraft and marginal driving skills. Picked up two positions in each race, but in both cases it would have been four if not for the first lap incidents.

First race, got good overlap going into Reid Park and the other driver cut in on me. Then when I was serving the resulting penalty off the racing line on Conrod, bunch behind comes down two abreast and nudging each other for track room. They caught up to me with about 40mph speed difference and no thought of giving up position to each other to avoid a collision. One of them was the driver who had cut in on me.

2nd race, Scirroco did a classic divebomb at T1 from at least 5 car lengths back and used me as a berm to make the turn.

It's been an interesting experience, turned off countersteer assistance the other day for a TT competition and haven't turned it back on. My driving must have improved some because the last time I turned it off I couldn't keep anything on track, now I'm barely noticing that it's off.

Net SR +2, net DR +50.

Edit: Also lost a boatload of DR earlier in the day, just got in to grid and phone rings, call I had to take. Had to quit.. :(

I really liked Race C this week. Ran the same car all week and ended up hitting a race time of 20:24 (starting on pole with no traffic). That can definitely be beaten.

One of the Japanese drivers tonight ran a few seconds under 20:30 (while battling for the win) with both an Atenza and a 4C Gr3. That was very impressive as neither of those cars are exceptionally fast or great on fuel. Having said that, they were able to save fuel in the slipstream for half the race which helps enormously at the end, when they were able to run at nearly full revs on FM1.

HELP.

No prizes for guessing where I ended up at T1.

'Stang is the fastest RWD car for me. Slightly better than Jag then RCF. Still, my Megane time is near 1 full second faster.

Yo Men, my weekly update on the Daily C incoming.
Maybe a Bit early but due to my Work Schedule i won‘t be able to do more Racing at Sardegna, so Here my Short :p thoughts on this Weeks Race experience.
Man, that was once again a very successful and thrilling Week with lots of Wins and many Podium finishes.
But also we had the occasional Brain free punt and disrespectful barge pass.
Like the week before at Spa, it was so much fun and I couldn’t stop doing race after race.
I switched between all of my 4 Accounts and gave my opponents a good racing time.
And by mentioning racing, I mean racing.
Real racing ;)
Something that 95% of the folks I met probably have never heard of
It’s astonishing how little racecraft and honor a lot of people showed.
I did about 30 Races I guess and mostly it was a blast.
Usually I started Between 5th to 10th.
I‘m not into qualifying that much I drive 10 minutes, set a lap and that’s it for the rest of the week.
I was driving my beloved 458, like I always do.
Best Car ever :D
Thing is, I had a Strategy. Well, the problem was that apparently most of the people around me didn’t.
Partly it was hilarious but that’s another Story to be told.
Despite having loads of fun, I once again was tought what the main problem with many races is.
It’s the different approaches almost everyone has during these races.
You just can’t fit them all under a hat, on the track and for sure not within 15 laps.
From my experience there are 3 main Problems or problematic behavior.

We have the hot lappers, god, by far the worst sort of people you meet on track.

They treat every lap like they are driving for their lives, bardging and nudging their way through the field like there’s no tomorrow. Respect? A foreign Word to them.
Some here In this thread ;) said it’s some kind of killer instinct or winner mentality and every competitive driver has it, but that’s just a poor excuse for not showing respect and honor to your opponents. Period.
Sorry but I play racing Games for over 25years and I have NEVER driven like that.
It’s just not cool.
Even the top players in GTS show these “skills“ like I experienced again while being involved on some YouTuber Streams.
Best thing is if THEY do it it’s ok, coz they say hey I’m a fast driver it’s my right to nudge you now and here.
But beware if it’s done to them they cry around how stupid the others are and how stupid the penalties given are

Second Problem we have are the sort of players, I call them Qualy-Heroes
Which often leads to Problem Number 1 explained above.
These type of players spent hours and hours on Qualifying, trying to improve their time over the week to brag around how fast they are and how high their Kudos Speed Score is.
If they then manage to start up front, they continue their hot lapping style, probably get their occasional Win if they manage to not bottle it and feel proud like Oscar, tapping their backs what kind of super drivers they are
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing these people it’s just their type of amusement and that’s ok, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my standards by which I drive.

Well and the third Problem are the inexperienced gamers, with the not deliberately punt.
They just can’t control the Car miss the braking points and stuff. Some of them are even quite fast, many of them even faster than me.
But being fast without Control is a bad combination for having good and clean races.
So overall after being absent for almost a year and coming back to GTS, I must say it hasn’t changed that much.
It depends a lot on luck who you get matched with.
One bad apple can ruin the whole experience, but i never rage quit or give up.
It’s about having fun and this game provides so much of it, I definitely will drive on, until my old and grumpy feet will serve me :D

First Race C win of the week at the 4th attempt (first 3 races were a crashfest, with me caught up in the middle each time). Started from pole, down to 3rd as others roared off into the sunset, I non stopped, and that was that! :D

Dat Hamster iz crazyman! ;)

****ing annoying. No logic to it as far as I can tell.

Random bugs are the worst to try and fix because there are no steps to replicate them. Also, if you check your mirrors, you may notice that the ghost loaded, but it started a second or so after you passed the line.

It's only loading your own ghost that's an issue as far as I can tell. Loading a ghost from the leader board seems to work every time.

I'm guessing you ended up in the sand with at least 2 cars pinning yours up against the wall.
I ended up in the sand, yes, in 19th place, with the leader already 15 seconds up the road. I somehow managed to make my way up to 6th place by the end of the race :D I actually enjoyed driving through the field and even pulled off this nice overtake in the process:

We reign fire. We reign fire. On the Mountain. Fire on the Mountain.....Last gasp at Bathurst, since I need to rest my hands to Spa. As previously posted, I beat my track record, with The Tank. I was hopeful that would get me a top 3 start. The race matching gods were not with me. Instead of a mix of DR/C and D it was DR/B and C. I started P6/16....with a yellow Megane in front of me. What a bloody road block!

Turns out you can also start facing the right direction in P6. That bloody Megane was in the way at *every* turn. I had a car right up my rear end sniffing for an opening. You know you aren't making the best of the so called META when you are holding up a bloody Veyron in the corners .

After 2 laps of trying to get past and not crash into him, I managed to get past when he self destructed . I passed another wreck and was up into P4 and just had to keep it together. Sadly I didn't get the beast pulled up for a nice line into the chase, and the guy behind me closed in. We were side by side going into Murray's. I could have closed the door on him before then and taken the inside well before any overlap, securing P4, but I didn't. I screwed up, he had a run on me, so I let him have the inside and backed out, slotted in behind him for the finish.

He was driving a Megane, and when I was looking at the gap on the straits it wasn't exactly closing with any significant rate. The Veyron is a freight train once it gets going .

So, SR went up another 2, DR up 600. Day 1 holidaying in sunny DR/C :dopey:.

It's pretty bad. You are 100% correct that it's poor race craft. There's no thought in it at all. Like, if someone catches me because I am fuel saving, and they are not, why must they attempt a pass at the worst possible place on track? Why not wait for the main straight where the pass is easy? The time that may be lost following me for a lap is gained in the pits by saving some fuel.

They are oblivious to their own incompetence.

And I don't want to make it sound like lower ranked players are the only culprits. I watched a DR S player call out another for dirty driving BEFORE the race, then I watched him drive his wrecking ball towards the front of the field after a terrible pass on me.

Maybe those calling for damage are on to something. Race C should have damage turned on.

I think part of the rush to pass is that every second they loose waiting to get past is a second the people behind them have to catch up to them. The pack is a hungry beast set to devour all who are unlucky enough to fall within range of their maw :scared:.

You know that c race track has an awesome flow to it. My second race in the Mustang (all aids on-new track for me). I moved up to seventh. I never deviated from the yellow line the whole race in the gr3 Stang. I ran the laughing clown livery ty @Pigems
I went from lapping at 27 to 22 by end of race. I picked up positions by people being dumb, crashing and overdriving.
Tires only wore a sliver at that pace!
My last race last night on the mountain was uneventful. I’m sitting at I think 12k 76 after the shenanigans last night on the alt.
