If there's a gap. I am going for it.

The highlight reel of any legend has these types of moves in it.

I guess I'm a legend. :D

btw: here is the low 2:13 with the Viper

Watching that was sweeter than watching me slide toward the Esses. Now, if only I could replicate that run.

When you think you got past a guy, and then when you're about to enter the chicane, you realize he's a kamikaze that has no intention of backing off............

Lancer 2:13:351
Mazda 2:13:357
Viper 2:13:366

If I could get any of my cars to qualify that good, I'd be amazed.

Also, my impression of most daily races:

My Mustang is broken, nowhere near an "easy" 163 on Conrod with no tow.

Can you post your lap?

No.
I haven’t bothered to run qual since Sunday night when I set what 13.4?
As I said before it’s a clean fundamentally sound if unspectacular lap with tcs 3 bb 0.
Mustang can do much better with someone better than me at the controls.
Pretty sure I saw a low 12 on the leaderboard with it.
Pretty sure I could get at least mid 12 if I put in time and effort.
163 comes from that turn exit obviously.
I have best luck in third but a split second sooner getting on throttle plus proper shift points determines peak speed attained.
If you look at the engine curves provided in game it kinda shows you don’t really wanna wind it out, especially downhill.
Different drivers get times differently imo.
I personally need to work on carrying more speed on entry sometimes.
For my style at Bathurst I want to get max possible speed at end of straight the easiest way possible. Jag is also quite strong and Aston but I think a bit less stable.
Just FYI I’m not a big aficionado of underpowered handling cars.
The reason is yes, during qual pushing you can get times, but in race often people aren’t carrying that pace through corners and momentum gets lost.
Anyways jmo ymmv
I think Bentley said getting good exits means you beat almost all club drivers.
Entry plus exit is pro
Both plus apex is Alain Prost.
Definitely holds true consistently getting exits you can beat 98 percent of b and some a on back server.
Not by being fast but by focusing your attention properly

@NoStopN thanks for the kind words :) I use a T150 , completely stock. I am not the fastest driver but I can run most machinery at a steady pace. The Viper was the hardest work because I wanted to go to 10.000 rpm. That engine just keeps pulling :D Had also to be most careful with the understeer and setting up the car before the corner. It asks a bit more finesse ;)

I need to give that Mustang a run as well :)

I frequently run out of storage space! I think I've deleted every game bar GT now.

Same, but mostly because I keep saving the live footage after every race. At some point GTS won't start anymore, not enough storage space to start this application... If you can't download 900 MB you can't store the videos to edit either haha. 30 minute footage is 2.5 GB.

I learned this the other week. I upload after every race now, usually during the 1 min results phase.

Do you use TCS on the Mountain? I used to set it at 2 for the DS4, but have been trying to tame the beasts using the wheel.

Race C is worth at least 19 SR, I just went from 80 to 99 in one clean race.

The Ferrari did well this race. I tried to stay behind in lap one yet cars were flying off everywhere as usual so had to tip toe in traffic. By lap 5 it started to look more like a race, game on. I didn't really overtake anyone, just concentrated on driving smoothly and passing when the car in front messed up, and managed to dip into the 1:22 laps while fuel saving. After everyone had pitted I found myself in 3rd.

That didn't last that long as 4th decided to dive bomb me, I avoided, which cost me 1.5 sec on my lap time letting the next dive bomber catch up. I avoided his first dive bomb, he went wide, putting me back in front of him. I could not avoid his aim the second time and got punted into the sand. His 4 sec penalty didn't do anything since after he served it he was still 4 seconds ahead. Karma go him later as he crashed himself and disappeared behind.

I did lose some more time from another car eager to pass. I gave him a lot of room at T1 expecting another dive bomb but he stayed behind. So I gave him even more room in the second sharp left, driving along the outside, and now he took the opportunity. My fuel and tires were running low, his were fresh, he was on me for 1.5 laps already, no way I could have safely kept him behind for another 3. So I drafted him as long as I could and finished 5th.

Nice drive, awful dive bomby track. Back to the mountain!

I bet you will be a bit faster in the Mustang.

As an aside to all, in the past sometimes when grinding for a time like speedster at Brands Indy. (gave it my level best that week but outside top ten when the smoke cleared)
Anyways after a while I did best with no hud or time displayed.
Just me and the car and trying to go as fast as possible lap after lap. I think it can help sometimes to not know what your sector times are and just drive. The hud can be a distraction and it can be useful to turn it off sometimes if nothing else to freshen your mind up.

Evil imaginations of a time to come. Dreamly dead, almost gone. Nocturnal visits from the beyond. I will travel down the Mountain of Doom. Yeh, so I put in some qualifying laps with the rexy, beat my GT-R time and wondered to myself "Will I get pole again?". Aaaaand the survey says... 🤬 no! I started on grid P5/16.. so not as bad as it could have been I guess. Mixed DR/C and D with a couple of Bs thrown in.

I think P5 is in that golden zone of the tail end of starting in a strait line The dash for crash is on and I didn't really have myself lined up to pop myself out the other side of Hell with any punch. The yellow peril behind me did as the only FF Megan on the grid whistles past me. Became a bit of a road block across the top of the mountain. I had to keep backing off, which had the car behind me nipping at my heels. I was doing well keeping it together. The WRX was nice and stable, with it's only real problem for me was getting it to turn in. It was defiantly one of those slow in fast out affairs. Once settled it just rips itself out of the corner. It meant approaching corners a bit slower but being able to get on the throttle before seeing the exit.

I managed to catch up a bit, passed some wreckage, but I got a bit wayward at Murrays. Stayed on track but grabbing lower gears to do it had me almost come to a stop and I was passed before Hells. Other than that, not much. The rexy is one of the few cars that I have TCS off without it spinning out on me. In the end I finished where I started, P5.

SR up 1, DR came with a bonus, up 1.9k.......Sir, your accommodation to DR/C is ready... enjoy your stay :scared:.

Oh, you're awake. I'll sign up for the next race with my Australian account. 👍

There needs to be something telling about-to-be lapped cars that they're ghosted out, I nearly caused three wrecks just now because they swerved like hell to "avoid" me.

And I'm back up to SR S and immediately lose 11 grid slots. :dunce:

Uh oh, race b is dirty right now, just entered trying out jag. Pole from c c. Megane looks to dive at Griffins but I cover, the cutting he just plows me on iside, luckily in the midst of being sideways I tapped a wall giving him 3 seconds...
He goes inside at Chase, since I was back, I punted him at Murray’s and again at Hells, then power plug released controller disconnected...I was like wtf...then I get dq for ignoring pens lol.
Back in again next race...
Watch out for the Meganes! This one had twitch and logos all over it, probably streaming or some such. I was going to have another punt for him at Griffins but controller not working lol.
Dirty dirt balling in the dirt tonight! Gonna get in!

Oh, damn, you're on race B?
After this one, I'll switch over.
I've got the McMurphy DR down to C. 👍

You would think the fact that their cars almost disappears on screen would be a giveaway. I had a race at Big Willow some weeks ago where the guy in last place was clearly trying to crash me & 2nd place. We just drove through him.

D e to d d after getting sideswiped off on mountain straight by the leader lap one
Finished 4
Goin 4 more! It mad max right now in there. It’s a whole different game I have never seen before. There were d e drivers with 13 qual time...
Many resets have happened this week.
It’s a diff game down here in the alleyways and shadows.
Edit hmm c B now...

Here's that video

The players I passed, gave enough room and kept it clean. Kudos to them.

Great stuff! Saw up to your early spin when you were making progress and catching the McLaren F1 then fast forwarded to the final couple of laps.

That feeling you get when you pass a car then instantly start pulling away and homing in on the next target, one of the best things about racing

Nice races !

I think i may have seen you in my last race. Got my first win this week by switching from the Audi to the Benz. It's more stable and has a bit more accel/top speed. I led from the front and got a lead. Pitted after lap 9 and came out in 4th. 1st through 3rd were bumping and grinding into t1, and since I wasn't up to speed coming out of the pits, I snuck up the inside and rode the curb. Had 2nd by t4, but the leader had a 2 second penalty from all the bashing. He blocked going into the downhill esses, then completely lifted in the middle to try to give me a penalty. Killed my clean race, but I stayed in front and pulled a lead, with the fastest lap on L14 (121.3). I'm 1/2 second faster in the Audi in practice, but I was only .1 off my fastest Audi race time with the benz. It's easier in traffic IMO.

I'm still hoping to get into the 19's since, when i did my 20.3 Q time I know there were a couple spots I lost time. I had about 10 laps on the board when I set it, but my optimum was only a 1:20.1. I had faster corners, maybe sectors, on other laps, but I tend to reset if I screw up early. Might try the lambo and the ferrari.

I popped on just briefly. Didn't see @sturk0167, so planned on doing another GT lounge for some cred (slowly chipping away at my collection... once I've invaded Italy, I will have conquered the world!). Instead I ended up trying to qualify with other cars attempting to find something that a) I can get round the track without rotating into the wall at Skyline, and b) come close to my previous qualifying time. The NSX and Cayman were kinda sorta there in terms of stability, but a couple of seconds slower than I was prepared to accept. Enter the Tank. It seems that this week is an AWD week for me because all the cars that have performed for me have been AWD . Set a new fastest time with the Veyron. It's hard to tell if you are going fast, the engine sounds like its just idling :odd:.

What a night of racing, holy hell. Started off by making the mistake of running Bathurst on my main in a car that isn't the Megane. After 3 races of bumps and shoves and penalties from Meganes my SR was tanked at 67. Lowest it's ever been. So I bailed on Race B and ran off to Sardegna to hopefully repair my sportsmanship rating. First race I got matched with a lobby of D rated drivers and one other A rated one. Finished in 2nd with a 15s gap to the other A driver in first. Speed demon. Next race I swapped to the Porsche and it was...interesting.

Begin with this T1 destruction derby (the rammer in green lambo will show up later)

Add in some second lap spice

Then we eventually catch up with the green lambo

Only to catch them again a lap later and be greeted by a brake check

All in a single race...unreal. Kept it clean myself though and ended up back at 99 SR after finishing in 10th.

Did a race in the AMG GT3. Must need some special skills to steer that thing. Didn't feel stable to me. Well not as stable as the TC F and Atenza. I'll give it that's its fast.

However, couldn't beat my qualy I the Atenza. I was down 0.6 seconds from my 1:20.758.

Had a good battle with an RSR. I wasn't that flash in the AMG. So, I was only showing the nose when the RSR was losing it a bit. He kept it together though.

Back to the Atenza right now.
