Jumped onto a few races last night and the car was a bloody nightmare, kept locking up on braking, I honestly thought my wheel was goosed as it was happening with every car I drove..upon further investigation it turned out that my abs had been turned off which is really weird since I’ve been using it on default from day one..no idea how it managed to switch itself off!

I don't think Lambo man is necessary dirty, I think he's getting acquainted with the handling traits of a Huracan on worn rubber.

...while still learning the track.
Reasons why I didn't give him the benefit of the doubt...
1) After losing control and hitting me in the side he should've lifted instead of blasting out to take the position again
2) The unnecessary brake check on the next lap
3) Not shown in the replay, but the T1 chaos and punting was started by this driver. They pushed and then started braking 50m after the marker.

Yo Men, my weekly update on the Daily C incoming.
Maybe a Bit early but due to my Work Schedule i won‘t be able to do more Racing at Sardegna, so Here my Short :p thoughts on this Weeks Race experience.
Man, that was once again a very successful and thrilling Week with lots of Wins and many Podium finishes.
But also we had the occasional Brain free punt and disrespectful barge pass.
Like the week before at Spa, it was so much fun and I couldn’t stop doing race after race.
I switched between all of my 4 Accounts and gave my opponents a good racing time.
And by mentioning racing, I mean racing.
Real racing ;)
Something that 95% of the folks I met probably have never heard of
It’s astonishing how little racecraft and honor a lot of people showed.
I did about 30 Races I guess and mostly it was a blast.
Usually I started Between 5th to 10th.
I‘m not into qualifying that much I drive 10 minutes, set a lap and that’s it for the rest of the week.
I was driving my beloved 458, like I always do.
Best Car ever :D
Thing is, I had a Strategy. Well, the problem was that apparently most of the people around me didn’t.
Partly it was hilarious but that’s another Story to be told.
Despite having loads of fun, I once again was tought what the main problem with many races is.
It’s the different approaches almost everyone has during these races.
You just can’t fit them all under a hat, on the track and for sure not within 15 laps.
From my experience there are 3 main Problems or problematic behavior.

We have the hot lappers, god, by far the worst sort of people you meet on track.

They treat every lap like they are driving for their lives, bardging and nudging their way through the field like there’s no tomorrow. Respect? A foreign Word to them.
Some here In this thread ;) said it’s some kind of killer instinct or winner mentality and every competitive driver has it, but that’s just a poor excuse for not showing respect and honor to your opponents. Period.
Sorry but I play racing Games for over 25years and I have NEVER driven like that.
It’s just not cool.
Even the top players in GTS show these “skills“ like I experienced again while being involved on some YouTuber Streams.
Best thing is if THEY do it it’s ok, coz they say hey I’m a fast driver it’s my right to nudge you now and here.
But beware if it’s done to them they cry around how stupid the others are and how stupid the penalties given are

Second Problem we have are the sort of players, I call them Qualy-Heroes
Which often leads to Problem Number 1 explained above.
These type of players spent hours and hours on Qualifying, trying to improve their time over the week to brag around how fast they are and how high their Kudos Speed Score is.
If they then manage to start up front, they continue their hot lapping style, probably get their occasional Win if they manage to not bottle it and feel proud like Oscar, tapping their backs what kind of super drivers they are
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing these people it’s just their type of amusement and that’s ok, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my standards by which I drive.

Well and the third Problem are the inexperienced gamers, with the not deliberately punt.
They just can’t control the Car miss the braking points and stuff. Some of them are even quite fast, many of them even faster than me.
But being fast without Control is a bad combination for having good and clean races.
So overall after being absent for almost a year and coming back to GTS, I must say it hasn’t changed that much.
It depends a lot on luck who you get matched with.
One bad apple can ruin the whole experience, but i never rage quit or give up.
It’s about having fun and this game provides so much of it, I definitely will drive on, until my old and grumpy feet will serve me :D

There's one more category, the superstar. I had one behind me this morning. S/S driver. He started in front of me (not qualified) and I passed him when he went for a foolish inside overtake without having a good run. I closed the gap between me and the car he was trying to go inside off and passed him that way along the outside using the front car's draft through Griffin's bend.

He stuck to my bumper like glue of course while the car ahead asn't very experienced slowing us down. So the S/S player thinks it's a good idea to try to pass two cars, following each other closely, through the esses and the dipper... I first got out of his way but he side bumped the car in front of him to scrape the wall, 5 sec penalty for the DR.S player, both cars now wobbly. He fell back a bit so now he was fully beside me in the dipper, side bumped me, then cut in too close, I couldn't avoid his rear bumper even though I was fully on the right side, he spun out and the car behind me got lucky. At least no penalty for me. If he had simply waited I would have passed the slower car through forest elbow or right after and he could have draft passed us both on the straight. Now he finished almost last after serving the 5 sec on the straight.

In another race, another DR.S player. I didn't see what he did in the race but he finished with 13 sec in penalties at the line and left to SR.B. Superstars my ass.

This is how you keep your nose clean and do well in the back field

Manage traffic, find the gaps, let them take each other out.

@Groundfish I tried the Mustang > 2:13:230

Fastest of the lot but it drives terrible  The gearing and the light back I dispise. Took me 10 laps before I got that time and I simply didn't want to continu because of had badly it drives. Luckily I had it in the garage. Otherwise it would have been a waiste of of money.

It doesn't feel planted and gets very light on the twisty decend section. A car not for the faint hearted :scared::lol:

The new move I saw last night is in the Cutting fly in hot clip car ahead wallride out car ahead gets pen...
I feel bad for some of the Canadians.
It was quite clear last night it was USA v S America.
Generally when a fast Brazilian gets the worst of it early all USA cars get targeted.
The thing I can’t figure out is they fight each other also on the whole.
There were USA evil players last night as well. Had one...Side by side through the link down Conrod boom slips in behind me for the punterino. I was able to keep it straight and cut the turn and catch.
He took a pen.
I watched his whole race on replay, holy crap. He was swerve blocking banging with no rhyme or reason-he was doing this to all flags.
WTH bud?
One race I punted the Braz in second t1 and that allowed USA and Canada to attack the remaining green Megane in first...I fought the guy I punted hard but we were both off in the final turn and he got me by a tenth.
USA and Canada filled the podium.
Looking at replays I have seen so many hilarious long range missile punt attempt fails not at me, just in general...
The long range missile is not the best weapon.
Done right it’s like 8 ball corner pocket, slow a bit rocket out on exit...
@doblocruiser, strange I find it very stable, but I don’t stand it on its nose. I did spin it once this week coming in hot and late braking at Murray’s. I stood it on its nose and got to throttle a bit early, spun with tcs 3 lol.
Outside that in race it’s excellent for me...Torque...

Really?? I find it one of the most stable RWD cars, especially after mcphillamy where they like to lock up into the dipper.

I think part of the rush to pass is that every second they loose waiting to get past is a second the people behind them have to catch up to them. The pack is a hungry beast set to devour all who are unlucky enough to fall within range of their maw :scared:.

Well said.

Personally, I think it's like the highway. Too many people have this squirrel's level of forethought. For instance (on the highway) I have seen people make dumbass passing moves only to then turn into the next En Route (our highway rest stops). They can't grasp that the extra 10 seconds it takes to safely tuck in behind someone is irrelevant in the context of their impending 45 minute stop for a hamburger.

Too many people think the goal of racing is to pass the car in front of you, but that's not racing.

For those who disagree, I will state it for you: The goal of a race is to finish the race distance in the shortest possible time.

So, for a fuel stop strategy, a person is starting with a 17 second deficit (for the pit stop, give or take), plus the distance to the leader at the start, which is about 0.5 seconds a position (give or take). So, let's say someone is starting 6th. They are +/- 20 seconds in arrears to the leader. The person who, through his qualifying time, has proven that he is demonstrably better. So, aside from having to lap, on average, at least over a second quicker to make up that deficit, this person will also have to achieve this by passing 5 people who are, again, demonstrably better. Seems like it requires some monumental talent to get over that hump.

I popped on just briefly. Didn't see @sturk0167, so planned on doing another GT lounge for some cred (slowly chipping away at my collection... once I've invaded Italy, I will have conquered the world!). Instead I ended up trying to qualify with other cars attempting to find something that a) I can get round the track without rotating into the wall at Skyline, and b) come close to my previous qualifying time. The NSX and Cayman were kinda sorta there in terms of stability, but a couple of seconds slower than I was prepared to accept. Enter the Tank. It seems that this week is an AWD week for me because all the cars that have performed for me have been AWD . Set a new fastest time with the Veyron. It's hard to tell if you are going fast, the engine sounds like its just idling :odd:.
I was there. man. Sorry I missed you.
Here's a clip of a guy that I didn't miss.

All the time on these walled-in tracks, I end up in these situations where I have to hit somebody because there's no time to brake, and nowhere to go. Actually, this particular spot seem to be the worst. It's happened a couple times for me in the same location.
I guess most people who race Bathurst a lot, have probably run into someone there. :banghead:

*The WRX handles incredibly well on this track. 👍

My best time & optimal time were in the Mustang. Is it twitchy in the rear? Yes. And it's been probably the most stable car in the downhill Esses. The key for the dipper (for practically all RWD cars) is to slow down before the dip, then give a little throttle while going through the dip. It helps to settle the car down. My biggest issue at the dipper is downshifting too soon. The rear locks up & slides.

You know that c race track has an awesome flow to it. My second race in the Mustang (all aids on-new track for me). I moved up to seventh. I never deviated from the yellow line the whole race in the gr3 Stang. I ran the laughing clown livery ty @Pigems
I went from lapping at 27 to 22 by end of race. I picked up positions by people being dumb, crashing and overdriving.
Tires only wore a sliver at that pace!
My last race last night on the mountain was uneventful. I’m sitting at I think 12k 76 after the shenanigans last night on the alt.

TGIF

Nice!! That’s one of my favourite liveries. :)

Nice to see how an experience can be so different! I am surely it comes down to drivingstyle as well. The Mustang took me longest to adapt to and get a low 2:13. It is also the car where my laptimes fluctuated the most.

I like the moostang,, it's the gr4 car i probably feel most comfortable in actually. Back in it this morning and set my best time this week. Still planing on racing tomorrow and i think this will be my weapon of choice. I WILL NOT GO FWD!!! I probably could have trimmed it down a little more but i gots to get to gettin....

Happy friday folks:cheers::gtpflag:

That’s awesome @Dairyworker. It is so interesting with the game how driving styles differs, and what sectors diff players make or lose time in as @doblocruiser alluded to.
I’ve hear people mention before how they find certain mr cars planted and they are like poison to me.
Different Kung fu, still fast.
One of my favorite things is battling a driver in a car with diff strengths from my own.
All kidding aside when this game is good it’s really good.

Oh yeah, it gets a bad rap. I was actually surprised that the Viper felt more stable. But, that should make it understandable since the real Viper has wider rear tires than a Mustang. I can't rip on the Mustang at all. I have 4 wins in the Gr. 4 car & it was the first car I won a daily race in. Now here's how you practice in the 'Stang.

Did another round with the Viper and indeed it is much more stable. Even through the dipper. Got her down to a 2:13:032 :bowdown:

Does anyone run mcclaren gr4 race b?
I ran six or seven races in it, and seems pretty strong to me. I actually was very close to 12 in it for qual last time we had this combo.
It’s sneaky fast if you figure out the shifting imo. Seems very sensitive on shift point...@doblocruiser have you tried Mcclaren? Anyone? Buehller? Buehller?

I guess South Americans use USA accounts now to hide? I got rammed and spun by a US Mustang starting behind me who took out a couple more cars before he crashed himself later. I called him out, he starts typing things like Puta and Concha. I check his connection, 174 ms ping, that's Brazil... He left with a red B.

I tried the McLaren, it wasn't very strong in traffic. Too sensitive for evasions. It's nice to drive alone.

That's just disappointing. They don't use USA accounts to try to be stronger in order to make the FIA events, so they use these as their alt accounts to just crash people? Thanks for ruining the game, you wretched, poor sportsmen. I guess I need to keep my dark side profile alive.

I sincerely wonder if perhaps I may have run across that fellow last night...
