@Voodoovaj
Raikonnen sure cries a lot.

That would be Kimi (F1 World Champion), veteran of over 250 F1 GPs (at the the time, now over 300), legitimately complaining about the antics of a then teenaged Max Verstappen whose driving during his early career (and still now) was commented on by anyone who was anywhere near him. Pulling a blocking move like that at 190 mph is not the work of a genius. I think most people would have a grumble at that.

One thing I will say about Senna, at Suzuka when he got pole and they changed starting positions to put him outside with less grip on the start he told them what would happen he would not yield. We all saw what happened.

That's actually a common misconception about the side of the track pole position was on. Pole was on the right hand side of the track, on the inside but off the racing line, for the last several F1 Grand Prix's.

While Senna wasn't happy about this and did argue for it to be changed, they didn't swap sides after Senna got pole. Whoever qualified first would always be starting on the dirty side of the track.

After that as you say, Senna makes no attempt to slow for the corner punting Prost (and himself) into the shadow realm claiming the championship in the process.

It's a fascinating piece of F1 history, can you imagine if that happened in the current day

Yes, it would.
I’ve seen him complain quite a bit but then again I don’t follow modern f1 closely. Maybe I confuse him a bit with Hakkinen, who also whines a lot. I watched him get moved wide and cry on radio at I think Silverstone he’s just crying the whole time.
Basically I think do something about it or stop crying.

Yes @watto79
Senna argued and seemed to think when he got pole it would be on the clean line, but it wasn’t. Lol I say good for him on that one. He struggled for grip off the line. Yes, I stand corrected.
I much prefer the driving of Prost though overall.

The clean/dirty siting of pole story varies. It was said there was an agreement it would be on the clean side and then that was reneged. Others say it was always going to be there. Also, varying stories as to whether or not Prost's car had aero changes pre-race to make it quicker in a straight-line. Whatever, Senna was not going to lift as that gap began to close.

One thing people forget to add to that is the context of the previous year's events when Prost pushed Senna off at the final chicane. Senna rejoined and the FIA (via Frenchman Balestre) then DQ'd Senna for not completing race distance, having taken the escape road at the chicane. I'm pretty sure Senna hadn't forgotten that, watch the videos of the driver briefing where Balestre does his "my decision" piece.

Hakkinen whines a lot? WTF.

He retired 20 years ago by the way.

all F1 drivers whine about everything but saying kimi seems odd of all the people to name as whiners.

have you heard hamiltons radio? lol

Got the TT Cup down to a 13.2 around the Mountain but she just understeers too much to get it much faster, optimal is 12.9 so far. Might try another car. :)

I am gonna maybe try the Megane, just to see on wheel if I can figure out the ff late brake roll corner off throttle or whatever needs to be done with ff.
I haven’t ever been able to take advantage of its power, it’s like on controller they give it help or something, I’m so horrible in ff need to change my technique a bit maybe.

@Stencedaddy,
Yeah “guys can you put me on another strategy or something” lol. I admit I barely follow the f1 so maybe should refrain. I do think though, do something about it.
Like myself, usually when I get worked up and irritated it’s because I got my butt kicked.

Ha yeah "My decision is the best decision" is a classic!

F1 was particularly corrupt back then, post race replays show on the first lap that several cars used the chicane escape road to avoid accidents but only Senna was disqualified for doing the same. Its almost a perverse respect I have for Senna for what he did, basically daring Balestre to disqualify him again which would have been embarrassing for F1 and Prost, being only able to win championships by getting Senna DQ'd.

Let's not also forget that it was in the wake of this that Senna made the "if you don't go for a gap you're no longer a racer" quote. He was attempting to justify the move under media scrutiny, and said something that 90% of GTSport players now use to justify dive bombs from over a second behind you

That injustice fuelled the fire, no question. Why more people aren't aware of the context I don't know, the film could have done better on that front (and many others I thought).
I think the "gap" quote was from his interview with Sir Jackie and agree it was designed to legitimise what had happened. I don't agree with what he did, but I understand why he did it. Like most people I think his views on those things would have evolved over time with the benefit of hindsight. Alas, we'll never know.

Prost better? Er, no.

In reality, we see retaliation all the time, for example in NASCAR, Karting, retaliation is part of racing, and it should be expected when a player crosses a certain line that regardless of penalty given or not by the game that all players should choose to take action. I honestly believe if a repeat offender say barge passer gets taken out every time they do that, eventually they will stop because they are not gaining advantage by that.

ya, exactly. A person can either anticipate it or fall victim to it.

I haven't been on a real track in years. And, I've seen plenty of passes during that time & watching from my favorite home chair. But, there is a line between driving "bold" & driving "foolish". It's simple in my book: if you couldn't make the pass under normal conditions but you brake later, crash into someone, knock someone off track, then you crossed over from bold to foolish.

So you, like me, are not young.

Who knows the age of the other guy? He could be 13 or something. He could have gotten his rating BECAUSE of aggressive moves like that. You have no idea what's going on in that person's head. All I am saying is that the expectation that the other driver is going to do the right thing is misplaced. The example from your video, to me, seemed like it was a foregone conclusion. I don't know how the guys without rear view mirrors get through a race. If I did that, I'd never finish a race.

Man, all these clips make me nostalgic for the old F1days. The days before Kers and before DRS. I still think the need to get back to making the cars have less corner speed. I don't buy the notion that making the cars corner slower somehow lessens F1. Yes, they should be the pinnacle of tech, but I think we've learned what we need from the down force experiment and making the cars a little more unruly would be a good thing (IMHO).

The way I see it, the more down force they allow, the worse the racing has become. This clip is my favourite.

Again, that's why Motogp is currently a far better show. Not only are the races done in an hour, it's an hour of heroics almost every time. The runaway victories happen, but maybe twice out of eighteen races. That's pretty good. I especially love the leeway on contact between riders. :)

12.8 in the TT is the best it’s getting, still clipped a wall coming back down, I don’t think I’ll ever figure that part of the the track out. BB+4. :)

We run very different BB, I'm in the -1/2 region. Actually changed it during the lap, which is where the time came from. Still conservative over Skyline and through the dipper.

It has happened. 10,000 races milestone reached. Time for some statistics.

The 10,000 race was pretty uneventful. I finished 9th on the mountain in the Lexus. CRB, safe at 99 SR.

The amount of races I finished is different in game and on KP:
9,581 (game) / 9,593 (KP) races finished out of 10,000, 96% completion rate.
Just over 400 races unfinished due to random disconnects either by the GTS server, my crappy ISP or a total power failure, impatiently switching to the next race (quit to enter the other race with 1 minute to go), missing the start and getting timed out, pausing too long to answer the door / phone, simply quitting a hopeless room or quitting to lower DR.

On to the next 10,000

I'll be racing this on Sarthe tomorrow, see you all there!

Back to the mountain, but first breakfast. Totally forgot in that last push to reach 10,000 races :)

It’s interesting, screwing around with the Megane for the last hour, I do find I am inching forward very slowly in my understanding of how to get the most out of ff.
For me, on that car, I was toggling between tcs 3 and 4. No tcs, so easy to wheelspin if you are used to rwd. What I found was it requires changing the order of the inputs some from a rwd.
Interesting. I am kinda proud. I think if I put equal time in on Stang though I could do better...

WOW!!!
Time driven seems way too low. 1,054 hours? No way. It should be showing more like 4,000. :odd:

* Good choice for Lemans.
I tested 4 group C cars this morning (No Jag). I expected that doing a few laps in each one would give me some clarity, as far as which will be best to use. Didn't happen. All 4 were within a second of each other.
So it was pretty much inconclusive. 1 second at Lemans is the difference between an ok corner exit, and a good one. :indiff:
I guess I'll use your fuel economy guide as the deciding factor, and go with either the Nissan R92CP, or the Porsche 962 C. 👍

That 1054 hours is play time, time driven in 2553 or 3.6 hours a day on average, ouch.
I don't know what the game counts as play time, waiting for a race to start and livery editing time I guess.

962C is a bit easier to drive and best on fuel as well. It's a shame cause the Mazda 787B is fastest when not fuel constrained.

That make even less sense. It doesn't consider time driven to be play time???
Maybe there's only 4 digits available, and it's really 11,054.

It's a shame about the 787B. I'll use it at least once, though. I like to flip off the other cars when I fly by them on the straight. :mischievous:

Of course not. Racing is serious business! No horse play allowed on the track.

For those that like using the r8 for race c, you may want to give the nsx a try. Similar driving characteristics, but a bit more stable in my opinion. I was able to get my quali time down to 120.7 in the nsx which is better than ive been able to manage with the r8.

This is the last lap I set for Sardegna B TT. Looks like I'm getting my best ever TT result this week, with P7 in EMEA, less than 2 tenths slower than the regional record :D  1:18.908 in the R8 with -5 brake balance.

NSX is a nice alternative but the R8 is still faster and more stable to me. I didn't quite beat my QT with it either, my best is in the Ferrari at 1:20.5. That said, I haven't really spent much time qualifying. I'd rather be out there racing than endlessly running hotlaps even if my time does give me a bottom 5 grid position.

I can give some advice for what not to run for Race C: Lancer Evo. It's terrible on fuel. I averaged 1:24 and needed to run FM2 for half the number of laps. Great fun to drive however and finished 13/20 despite its shortcomings.
