This is why I played around with qualifying in race B last night but won't race it. First lap is a :censored:show and I am not fast enough to make it up after that. Braver than me for heading out there.

After all the talk about handling changes from the update I am wondering if I am going to be switching back to the Toyota in race C tonight:(. I was really enjoying the 962 for a change.

Don't succumb to the dark side!

I haven't tried the 962 yet, but the 787B feels a little better in the chicanes. It needs to brake earlier as well though and Indianapolis is harder in it as well. So far I haven't beaten my time from earlier in the week yet. Still 0.5 sec slower while draft passing multiple cars on the straights, without draft a low 3:30 as best. (with stop). 3rd attempt coming up, need 3 races at least to fine tune. At least the sound is still awesome!

Perhaps the way ABS works has changed?

Please PD put damage on... The lottery of penalties is killing me. I've lost 52 SR this evening and I think only one of these was my fault! Every tight corner is somebody attempting to spin you. You give then more room they just take more. I'm in SR hell... Help!

3 attempts in the Mazda, 3rd one went best
OR6ICEq.jpg

Total race time of 17:54.704 vs 17:51.658 before the patch, also a better lap before 3:28.618

Seems the Mazda is a bit slower as well now, or maybe I suck today. I did 3 races with the Mazda on Tuesday as well and should be more dialed in to the track later in the week. C9 up next, see how that one compares.

Only had time for 1 race last night, went with the 787b headphones on sound up probably wasn't the greatest idea at midnight when I wanted to go to sleep after. Finished 3rd with the fastest lap did a full tyres and fuel stop did a 24 on lap 2 and a 23.9 on the last lap. Only difference I noticed was braking for arnarge the back end was trying to lock up.

Also tried out the Hamilton DLC got gold on Bathurst and didn't finish my nordschleife lap before going to race C. Can't wait for some seat time this weekend

Made the mistake of qualifying for Race B. Got a 1:30.8xx in the Mustang, and started 8th on the grid.

Turn 3 was the usual **** show and I entered the straight in 16th place; dead last. Exactly where I would have been if I didn't qualify!!

Then there would be no difference whether you qualified or not if you end up last in both scenarios... I'd still have qualified, punts at T1 don't always happen. A 5 lap race on a short track with close matchmaking is kind of difficult to gain many places from.

I usually always qualify for Race A and B, they're just too short for back racing.

I did another race there having missed Race C entry and no punts at T1 and all blue SRs at the end. I was kind of surprised but clean races can happen there contrary to popular belief. :p

Quick question for you good guys, @Sven Jurgens @Pigems @Mistah_MCA and the like. Do you pass all the circuit experience tests in one try? Just wondered. Only took me more than 4 on the 3rd section, and I think the 3rd or 4th whole lap got me gold on Spa. I'm sure your times obliterate mine though.

Edit: @Famine you locked that one guys thread before your reply could be fully appreciated.

I didn't expect to be coming out of Turn 3 on Lap 1 in last place having started 8th?

Would you expect this in a B/S field?

It's really the point of the exercise. You've learnt the track well enough to get the gold, which is what I believe should be the requirement for an online race.

In general, it takes me a few tries to get the gold. I haven't done Spa's CE, though. I'm trying to kick Hamilton's butt on Brands Hatch at the moment.

Usually. By the time it's added I know the track inside out. I've done 1223 laps on Spa according to my stats and that's excluding the endurance races. I don't put any effort into it either, simply check it off to get back to 100% completion. If I get gold by 0.001 sec, good enough. I'm too busy with Sarthe atm to check it out though. What's this lewis hamilton stuff about.

Paid DLC.

For the most part, some are harder than others though and do need to be repeated, or if I make a big mistake. :)

Dang, fast answers. I kinda figured. I usually only beat gold by a tenth or 2. I smashed the second sector time by 6 tenths I was ecstatic. It was a second faster than my previous best.

It definitely helps that I know Spa better than, say, Goodwood took me a while. Depends on the car too, if you're not used to driving something.

I'm not as fast as those other guys but I know practice helped me. When I first started trying those it was because I made an 🤬 out of myself in my first sport mode races and realized I really needed to learn the tracks and how to drive them better. Spent hours trying to do bathurst and could only get silver.

After months of working on my driving, learning how and when to brake, when to push vs coast I suddenly found several of them drastically easier. Lots of sport mode races losing to faster people to learn the proper lines helped as well.

Since the last few additions to circuit experience I have simply logged on and bagged them in a quick 1 or 2 tries because they have already been run in daily races.

The only tracks I don't have all gold done are Nordschleife (which may never happen), Bathurst (the twisty bits kill me), St. Croix (just never drove there much) and I think the Sardegna too. I've been playing non-sport mode lately so hopefully I tackle a couple of those soon. I think I have bronze on all but 1 or 2 sectors overall, silver maybe a 1/3 of what's left. I'll double check and post the hard digits if I remember when I play again.

I can say that at the time when I got them to all silver I thought I had really done it and developed some amazing speed and car control. Then I went back and tried sport mode again and learned the truth.

Does doing them on an alt account count?

Sometimes it will take me an extra try to hit gold although when I first got the game, a different story. I remember Le Mans being moderately difficult to complete all gold on.

Circuit Experience should be added at the same time as the track does. A month or more later makes no sense to me since by that point, I know it inside out.

Re: completing a Circuit Experience for Spot Mode entry eligibility. It's a good idea but I don't know whether it would change much. I've all gold on Suzuka and I still consider myself bad at the track.

Well, I guess this son of a 🤬 thought it was fine to give me 3 SR downs within about 12 seconds (that might be a record) for no good reason. So of course I gladly slowed down to take another one, and a 5 second penalty to let him know it wasn't.

After the race he said no worries, good race. Yeah, right. I probably need to hit him again.
@Groundfish, you'll like this one. 👍

It's close with the Sauber Mercedes, still slower overall race time compared to before the patch
wGTzCUR.jpg

I had 3 clean races in a row, first one with the fastest overall race time of 17:48.039. They were all close, fastest best lap in the first one, yet fastest first lap in the last one. My last race could definitely have been faster. The TS050 in 6th was slowing me down through the Porsche and Corvette curves in lap 2. World upside down.

Before the patch my best race time was 17:46.844 (with best lap of 3:28.286), 1.2 seconds faster. The optimal of my last 3 races is 17:43.962 (taking the best lap out of 3 races for every lap) so there's potential. However that would mean draft passing every lap.

R92CP and 962C tomorrow. Braking definitely feels different now.

I'm not sure the physics are different. The first few races I did last night were slower (It felt more like getting the front end turned in the Porsche curves than anything with the brakes) but after a couple the times were similar. I think my PB last night was a tenth or two quicker than earlier in the week.
