Well duh . Where do you get GTS? Usually its from a *game* store or the *gaming* section of a department store. It's played by gamers. A gamer's primary mode of operation is to *game* the system. You win a *game* by taking advantage of loopholes in the system... it makes you seem clever (or so the 🤬 *gaming* the system believes).

So, enough whinging and whining about the broken physics, the constantly changing tyre models, the tragically flawed penalty system, the unrealistic BoP of certain META cars, the ridiculously inconsistent track limits, the............after all.... "It's only a game!". (Anyone who get's that reference has been following this thread for far too long ).

And the number of people who are impressed by those cheats? Zero. And if these wrecking balls don't agree that "it's just a game", then they must live the most pitiful existence on Earth.

Also, someone posted a video on Discord this morning & I saw someone else in the gravel trap get a 5 second penalty for someone else sliding into the gravel trap behind them, tapping them, & sliding back onto the track. Glad to know I'm not the only one to suffer that indignation.

I have thought about ABS but I am not buying that as an explanation. If it was ABS it would be present in qualify too.
What reason could there possibly be to have different physics in qualify and race of a race with no fuel and tire degradation?
I suspect that come Tuesday after the update it's either gone again or present in both Qt and race.

I was thinking maybe the dailies would get better matching if a bunch of the good players weren’t practicing FIA is all.
I’m not as serious as many of those players who are clean and fast, and I’d like to see more of them in dailies, I guess.
Like if everyone knows a one stop on paper is 2 seconds average on paper faster than a no stop, everyone has that figured out beforehand. I mean seems less fun, knowing exactly everything beforehand.
Plus, like for me, everyone knowing puts me to disadvantage in some cases. More power to them, but not best for me :).
I argue against flat out racing without wear and fuel, because I am not as good at that as tire wear. For myself personally the higher the multiplier the more likely I am to enter.
The reason we won't see them in daily races is because they got everything to lose and nothing to gain. So if they are in daily races it's with an alt account.

Off topic here, just back to dailies right now.

Spent the day at friend’s house doing Spa and Interlagos in VR through Arsetto Corsa! Wow! My stomach churned when coming down to Eau Rouge... Interlagos Senna S is really steep!

Hopefully VR next gen will allow us to race in it.

Since people are literally spending hours and hours prepping for FIA, I think they ought to get some of the clean good players out of FIA practice lobbies by not announcing the fuel and tire settings until the hour of the race...
I'd be happier if FIA races were a weekly thing. Since it's usually 2x a week, it feels like there's barely/not enough time to mess around in the Daily Races. :indiff: So most of the time, we're spending our time trying to find the strategies and perfect them.

like matt jones and lurismo tester ;)

 To be fair it happened once accidentally, Porsche 930 on Tokyo, nailed the last sector on the alt on the first lap and got an amazing time, surprised me. But i try my best to qualify lower on the board, you can check it.

I really wish they'd change the FIA Saturday race to Sunday or any other day really, they couldn't pick a worse time slot than Saturday night.

Race C has been the most fun for me this week even though I haven't finished better than 5th. Finished off the week with two race B's in the Renault. It's a literal slip-n-slide out there. My goodness, there is just no traction at all. It's like someone slathered the track with Crisco.

I agree to making qualifying & race physics equal. The race trim is so far off, it's as if they tweaked everything just a little & it added up to a major difference.

Also, I wonder if they will unlock the Gr. 4 Supra with this update? The rules said delivered by Dec. 16. If they are giving us a car & not just a livery, it doesn't make sense to have server maintenance for 2 weeks in a row.

I've only tried a friend's PS VR once. At least I have an idea on whether to buy one or not (that's a big no for me). I was driving Driveclub I believe & had to quit after 2 laps of the first race. My brain couldn't make sense of the experience without the body feeling the actions of the car. It made me feel queasy.

This shows that some people spend more time learning how to take advantage of the penalty system than learning to drive

Good call.

I didn’t think about that. What would you say if the detail settings like tire wear and fuel use were announced only an hour in advance, or maybe not announced until the first race? I’m curious.

or maybe not announced until the first race?
I'm guessing quite a few would choose to race the later time slot in order to have the information ahead of time. If enough chose to do this, it could significantly affect the quality of the field in the early time slot.

Or you'd have racers spending even more time testing to look at a range of possibilities of fuel/tyre use so they could develop a strategy for each of the likely combinations.

It still has two wheels on the rumble strip....

I obviously can see that lol. I've been hit with penalties when my tires left the actual asphalt but were still on the strips before. RBR comes right to mind as the last place it's happened. Do certain tracks or sections have a tighter boundary than others? Specifically how far off the "track" you can go?

Good call.

It wouldn't work. EMEA and the Americas would see what Oceania has to deal with, and have extra time to get some strategies down.

Anyone else think gts needs a penalty limit? Depending on race length or something. Had a race at interlagos where some asshole brakes super early for t1 so i go around the outside and he bumps me off. Then he just starts punting everybody and gets at least 15 seconds of penalties. Its a 5 lap race like just ghost him or kick him the **** out. I guess this would just lead to people trying to game the system to get people dq'd or ghosted. Gts has really been pissing me off. I go to do some lobby races to avoid some of the chaos..still get punted. Like holy **** man this game isnt so hard that you cant do a goddamn lap without ramming somebody. Believe it or not most of my races i dont punt anyone and use my brakes, crazy right?

Yes, limits vary. There's a spot @ Mt Panorama through the cutting where you can get a track limit penalty by driving between the white line and the wall on the right, just before the first tight left. Same in the esses at the apex of the first tight left there I think.

@Stencedaddy
I think they could set the dq more strict also. I was D B literally trying to reset by doing nonsense that one night and didn’t get a dq warning. They did ghost me pretty good though preventing some crash attempts.
Interlagos can bring out best and worst, usually not much in between.

it seems like that is every combo these days. my biggest issue is SR down arrows for even the slightest of contact. its impossible to keep sr up when people can barely touch you and you lose sr. makes no sense at all. i understand getting penalties right is hard but at least give us a little leeway on taps that are just part of racing.

I'm beginning to come around to the idea that the system shouldn't try to decide who's to blame, it should just hand out penalties to both parties. While it would not fully solve the problem, it should at least minimise deliberate gaming of the penalty scheme.

Wasn't it like that last year? I'm trying to remember... thought both drivers would get a penalty for side contact.

the gaming the penalty system isnt even really my beef. its that i am stuck racing with scumbags in SR C and i have no control of getting out. as long as people keep tapping you or hitting you off every other race your SR just stays the same or goes down. i shouldnt have to drive around at the back for like 5+ races taking DR losses to get my sr back up because other people cant drive.

Before my time in Sport Mode, but I believe so based on comments I've seen here.

I wholeheartedly agree. :indiff:

SF19-Honda for Race C.

I still don't get why PD has to separate the two engines. They race together in real life. C'mon, PD...

E46 for Race A.
Ok, now I have to find which sf car I have. Hopefully it is this one, but don't know why. Love the car, haaaate the track. Maybe spend some time with the main crowd at spa instead.

i love the sound of the vantage v8. it sounds so much more powerful than most gr4s that i drive. so far so good on spa. some guy tried to punt me at bus stop and ghosted straight through into the wall lmao. idk why he was mad. he bump passed me so i did it back. we both stayed on track no harm no foul. then he does that.

First race(qualy 29.5) Couldn't catch the British Bulldogs.

Now I see why I couldn't catch them...Second race(qualy 28.9) Started 5th. Nose to tail all race. Swapping positions. Got my 5th back on corner exit, with the switchback.
