I don't think it was mentioned but SR down seems to have either switched off completely or is far less frequent since the update.

I've yet to be flagged for someone bump drafting me (which is great having been an issue since the Corvette at Blue Moon) nor have I got one for bumping a driver ahead. I haven't tested whether you still get one for invalid pit entry.

I assume (if disabled) it's a "dirty" fix for bump drafters although whether it still penalises clear brake checking, I'm not sure.
I'd been thinking that the new huge penalties don't seem to be taking away SR at the same multiple as before, e.g. someone who got 6 secs of penalties in an FIA race was still at 99 SR after it, whereas I think previously you'd have been expecting to lose at least some SR, even in an FIA race. I'm not sure, though, I haven't been looking into it in detail, just that I haven't seen people complaining about DR resets, despite all the huge penalties.

I noticed this too. Bumps aren't showing SR down as often, and in the penalty system thread I showed clips where I got 2 7 second penalties in the same race and still finished at 98 SR. I was expecting a big drop as before this 2 penalties for those incidents under the system would have been near impossible to recover from. Otherwise I drove a fairly clean race, but still had a 0.5 track limit issue dodging another car and was off wide a couple of times.

Hey everyone! Mistah_MCA here,
This is NOT a lap guide
I just wanted to take the time and say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and thank you all for the good times and amazing support this year. :D You guys are awesome!!

OK, that is a North America name. In Europe it was called the MkI Supra with the 2.8 liter six.
I had the Celica from 1976 and it was an amazing little scoot, it ran hard and fast as ****. Especially after mounting the Garrett Turbo from a Ford Escort Turbo and a close ratio gear box with a long first gear.
Soto me there has never been anything linking those together apart from the brand Toyota.

It was more than a name, it was the same chassis and body panels. It was, indeed, a "pumped up Celica" as I described it.

Here's the Celica from the same time frame

Here's the Celica GT-S, which was a somewhat mid point between the Celica and the Supra.

And then the Supra...you can see the resemblance

Behold, the Celica Supra, which IMHO was the best of them. i ALMOST bought one....ALMOST, but I ended up buying and 86 Mustang GT instead.

I'd still buy one of these. It's like the girl that got away.

When I was back in the states, a work mate of mine tried to convince me to buy his '84 'Vette. Wasn't going to work with me having a new born. So, he showed me an '85 GT. Burgundy manual. I was a bit put off by the carburettor, as I preferred FI for those cold NY mornings. Especially since I had to be to work early. Didn't want the old sit in it, warm up for 10 minutes, like what my Father used to do in the '70s. My loss. No "ragrets". ;)

Anyway, the Supra was a love, but in The Bronx, couldn't even get one back then. It'd be stolen for the seats and wheels alone.
I see three Supras on the regular. In a neighbourhood not far from me, an owner has two he parks on the street, along with a Cressida. A separate Supra I see driving, has a zebra type primer. Been like that for as long as I've been here in Australia.

I lose a second in the final sector. Clearly I need to change my method of getting through the chicane.

You’ll get it! The brake point is about the 75m mark and you really gotta trail in and bite off 99% of the first apex in order to be able to hold the speed through the second one. It’s kinda hit or miss, you’ll get a penalty for it every other lap because you have to cut so much off of it. :)

I certainly can. All I can say is that the first generation of what you call a Supra was sold in my homeland as a Celica. The second generation wasqthe first I saw with the name.
But I did some reading and you are right about the history of the car.

Oh excellent, So, by extension, this means pretty much everyone will be an SR S in no time, Thereby negating any usefulness to the SR rating.

Does anyone still want to debate my stance of "incompetence" being the biggest issue with the penalty system?

Lots of dirty moves and wasted opportunities yesterday at Laguna Seca. One guy in particular who was driving a Porsche wasn't willing to give me space at all, which was annoying. He didn't want to race fairly and was moving all over the track to keep ahead.

Exhibit A: The Porsche went wide at the last corner, which allowed my draw alongside on the main straight. However I was forced up against the left-hand wall (Michael Schumacher style) as I was getting ahead. In the braking zone, I moved over a little bit to get a better line as I was on the wrong side of the track. Turns out the little gap I left on the inside was just enough for him to push me wide and into the marble. What a dick. I ended up losing two spots. I then did the same to him entering turn 6, and naturally that gave me a penalty. Because of course it did.

Exhibit B: I was in a heated contest for the lead coming into the Corkscrew and someone in a Mercedes got a terrible exit as he was ramming an NSX, which meant that I sitting in the perfect position to get past the Mercedes. He got loose and made contact with me, and as I was recovering the car from a slide, a gave him a bump. No one was at fault as we were both in a spot of bother, but I end up getting a penalty. I almost quit. I lost my chance at a potential win and that was hard to take.

Exhibit C: It doesn't get any better does it? I was tailing another Mercedes who was in a battle with another car (can't remember what it was, probably a Mazda) and I was close behind minding my own business. I was waiting for the Mercedes to make a mistake which would allow me to get by. He ended up going wide at Turn 3 and got two wheels into the gravel, which caused him to slide. I saw the opportunity and dived the right, but guess what? He turns into me with a fair amount of force and I go off. That hurt enough but I got a 2 second penalty! For someone else's stupid error!

After all that, I managed to get a win after holding off a Corvette for about 10 laps. My palms were really sweaty because the gap was constantly changing - growing and shrinking at various parts of the track. On the last lap he must've made a mistake, or the Porsche behind him made contact. Either way, the 1 second gap I had was all I needed to secure win 103.

I've already heard one horror story about KFC tonight & Mike's just made it two. Guess who won't be going to the Colonel's anytime soon.

Back on topic, I've spent my free time today getting pictures & videos out of the new "safety cars" ;). I'm actually surprised that I haven't dipped my toes into the Laguna. But, the stories continue to paint an unflattering picture of LS & I currently don't want my impression of the track tainted.

Since I'm slow this week, and being put almost last at Laguna against guys that are 3-4 seconds faster than me, I decided to go on my alt account and race from the back against B drivers. (Still SR-S)Laguna was okay, then I went to the mountain, got in my trusty Aston, and started having fun! Still some blockers, and I got run off on the fastest part of the track once, but most were racing fair. I did a 16.1 in one race, and was almost 2 seconds faster than that split when I got run off on the back straight, so I figure I have a low 14 in me at least. This was my best finish (so far!)

Have a good holiday everyone! I'll probably be back on tomorrow afternoon, so maybe I'll see some of you out there.

<perk> Incompetence? Did someone call? How may I not help you today? ;)

Edit: <sigh> PD is showing me no love today. I can't connect to the server. Had this problem yesterday too. Took a while before I could finally connect .

Raced a C race on my son's account. It's named after me...
Well, I ran :26 so started p12 in a mixed DR C and B, All SR S.
The first couple of laps I am behind a fuel saving Aston from SA, I am a little faster because I am not fuel saving or tire saving. I pass him at Rainey.
The next are a Porsche right behind a Beetle and a BMW. I pass the Porsche going up towards the Corck Screw.
Stays behind the Beetle to try after the turn but the Porsche brakes a little later than me and pushed me into the beetle, who pushed the BMW off. So a four way Newton's Cradle. The Beetle gets 3 seconds, stays ahead because it would be wrong to pass.
On the main straight he slows down and try to punt me off, but he ghosts. Then tried to dive-bomb me off at T1. I duck and he goes into the sand.
I hope he watched the replay afterwards.
On to p7 then I decided to change tires. Probably should have stayed on the worn ones but finished p10.

I've had similar problems yesterday. I'm hoping that the no-connects, the freeze getting to the livery editor, the dissappearance of my stats and saved liveries, and all the other wierd issues yesterday will be solved when they fix it...hopefully before I boot up the system later today.

BTW, I shared that last race I did in the RX7 last week. I would post it here, but I think I would need a host? Anyway, it's tagged with RX7 and "most fun ever". I don't know how half of this stuff works but I think my friends will see it in their feed.
Also, anyone from here that wants to send a friend request (Rexracer702 and RacerX702) I'd be happy to accept. If you did before, and i didn't accept...appologies. I may not have seen it, or maybe couldn't figure out how to get to where I could accept. I mostly just race on this console, and sometimes can't figure out how to do (simple?) Things. Hell, I have trouble sharing liveries between my accounts.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
