This is from a top split race C this afternoon. The quick people were all in the FIA races so I had my first pole of the year, some stuff happened so here is the full race:

Yup, that looks like race C to me. Except for the bit where you drive back through everyone for the win. I get stuck in the mess once I am back there. Awesome. Just missing you getting the penalty for turn 1. I got 7 seconds for getting spun into the wall on the straight up to turn 1. Need to collect more of those

The first corner encourages people to stick their nose in where it probably shouldn't be so people get a bit pissy for the rest of the race, this one was something between 2nd and 3rd on the grid which had carried over from the race before (which I wasn't even in). I love Fuji but it is easy to lose a lot of SR through no fault of your own, especially with the naff penalty system.
 
Brought the M6 to a 3rd place in the FIA Manu Series after leading the race for most laps.

Started in 4th with Mediums on and right on very first T1 the three cars ahead tangled up and and I took the lead until I had to pit for another set of Mediums!
Came out in 4th, soon others pitted and I made it to 2nd, but could not hold on to P2 to the end.

So, the way I understand is that if I race it again, the official result for the day will be the last race, correct? - if that’s the case I’m done for the day!
 
I think you guys will get a kick out of this. Here's a race I just did at Interlagos. Check out the penalty they gave me after making a sweet pass on the outside of a turn where you just don't make passes on the outside. The dude in the Audi didn't dig it, I guess. He hit me 4 times! :lol:

After that 2nd one, I literally laughed out loud. What else can you do?
Yup. All my fault. :lol:
It think that race inspired me to set an actual Q time. The guys starting up front are super clean, right? :lol:
 
After all sorts of frustration on Tuesday, things looked good for me in my first Group 3 race at Interlagos yesterday. I started from first place and thought you beauty, I'll finally get a win. Nope. I got bumped heading into turn 4 which pushed me wide, and I ended up losing two places as a result. I was third at the line. I then realised that I needed to be more aggressive in my defense. I was being too polite:lol: But that's no substitute for pace, which meant that I finished second, third, second and second. At this point I'm not sure if I can actually win the race. Never have I been so close so many times. But that only made me want to win more, and eventually, I did.
 
Is there a bug in Race C? I get two 20 seconds penalty after 2 clean races at the end of the session:-( Both are no Pit-races with medium tires....

Furthermore is there no option to changer the tires in quallyfying sessions or direct in front the race?

what is happen?

It looks like the Audi was getting hit by the other car behind / to his left, not sure he had any say in the matter! :lol:

Select "Car Settings" and change tyres to Hards or Mediums from the drop-down menu before running a qualifier or race.

At the lower levels, it's not so much dirty drivers, it's just a lack of experience dealing with people rather than the AI.

I think you're right. Since falling to DR C, people are trying their best to stay on the road and may bump or nudge you unintentionally with no malicious intent. Although sadly, there are people that see the wrong side and retaliate which I often see.

Race C pit stop takes less than 10 seconds (around 6 from memory), so a no stop is a pretty bold strategy. Very impressed you made it that far on a set of mediums too.

I got hit with this same penalty on what I thought was a hard earned win. I was absolutely gutted.

It turns out you must run Hard tyres at some point in the race or you’re slapped with 20 seconds when you cross the line. It isn’t mentioned anywhere near clearly enough and I’ve seen lots of people get hit with the penalty, including others who’ve lost wins from it.

Best strategy IMO is starting on mediums, pitting lap 6/7 (depending on traffic), switching to hards for the finish.

That penalty was hilarious..
BTW, why did you put two tires on the grass while serving your penalty? Is it faster that way or were you just trying to get out of the way?

For some reason I'm able to change the front tyres in qualifying mode (from hards to mediums and both wet options), but I'm not able to the same with the rear tyres... All options besides mediums are greyed out..

Are the SR up/down arrows still showing up? Either I've become blind to them or they stopped showing them on the hud.

They show up, but they are not showing up nearly as much as they were. Tanking SR isn't as easy :lol:

Change front tires first, then the game will let you change the rear tires. Trying to change tires from rear first won't let you change to begin with.

I haven't tested it but my theory is that if you can make the car slide into the penalty area the ABS will cut in and slow you down less. If it is quicker it's not by much, maybe save half a tenth but risk spinning.
 
Well race B earlier was a sight. It seems FIA days that the dailies get messed up somehow. I had to call in assistance from my German race engineer Mr Offenpuntem. It’s easily dealt with but slightly annoying all the same...
On the lighter side, I found a song that just seems to fit a certain person here...

Had a blast in the FIA race at Suzuka. Ended up finishing 4th after starting 10th.

I did have a pit Lane failure that you all may find humorous. Was trying to be careful going into the pit lane and ended up smashing into the median. :banghead: I could laugh at it because the car then slid just enough into the lane to trigger the pit animation and I didn't get a penalty. Super lucky.

Good song. Great album. Oh, and I saw you're mystery driver at Interlagos earlier. He was in disguise, so I better not blow his cover. I hear he's looking for the guys that mugged me in that race and left me for dead. I sure hope he catches them!:sick:

@Rexracer702, I dunno if you saw that replay, for some it seems Interlagos is more like American foosball than racing which sucks because it’s a fantastic track...Sometimes you gotta go full Waterboy there though, sadly.

Was going to write up about how much fun I had in a great race C tonight. Mostly clean up front, no real issues. Some slight taps during passes, but it was at the end of tire stints when cars wobbled a touch under acceleration. All good though.

Then I did another race. I will upload highlights but 1 person in particular decides to make my race hell. I got a penalty as someone spun out after trying to bomb me into the back half of the lap. Great, 4 seconds, then climbing back I get another 5 seconds for someone great ending me coming out of the last turn, don't know if they were already out of control or what. As I recover from this I pass our suspect. Put of control on old tires. He doesnt like this so slams me several times, but I drive away. He reappears after the pit stop, hits me off. Gets 1 second! I pass him again, he punts me again! No penalty. Very deliberate. Cost me 32 SR! He leaves with a 🤬 blue S!

Edit, the 🤬 who drove me nuts at the end of the race only beat me up through 1 corner and the punt. Every other incident was a different driver. Have managed to get my SR back to 92 at least, despite the best efforts of 2 dirty drivers in the next 2 races. At least 1 apologized after the race. Still managed to bring home P2 in 3 of 4 races tonight so I will call it overall a good night.

My wife says it'll be better tomorrow night, friday night our time:lol::lol::lol::lol::yuck:. Think I will spend tomorrow night on different game, or livery editor.

Yeh, kinda not exactly the best method. Just participate in TPC events like the Friday night races (that's Saturday noonish/1pmish for us) and you will find yourself recruited. TPC follows the British navy's recruitment model circa 1800s. ;)
