Just did a last 2 win in daily C . 2 first lap a pretty chaotic so i start on hard and only try to stay out of trouble for the first lap i pit switch to med while everyone serving penalty'sss stop again on lap while most of them have 2 put hard tires I get fresh set of med me and another guy started last and finish 1rst and second . Race shared on my GTS profile GT-PSYCHO-

Ran a few B races yesterday. Earlier in the morning I was starting toward the front in high DR B/SR S races. Had some good moments in those races BUT it was the odd bad moment I had in a few of those races that made me angry and my DR/SR was all over the map yesterday because of the bad moments.

I'm beating a very dead horse here but.... The penalty system.... Ugh! One incident in particular, I got rear ended as I was turning into turn 13, Juncao (last tight left before going up the hill to start/finish)... Not even really rear ended, just tapped. Didn't throw me off my line through the corner (sounds like I'm making a case for the guy that tapped me)... Anyway, I got a 2 second penalty for getting tapped on the rear bumper. There car in front of me was a half second in front of me so it wasn't me crashing into the car in front of me because of me getting rear ended, just an innocent tap from the guy behind me because we were racing very close but fair and clean and I got a 2 second penalty and SR down. WTF? At the time I was running 6th. I continued running 6th until serving the penalty on the next lap, lap 4. While serving the 2 second penalty, the train of 7th thru 11th place came roaring by bumper to bumper and I rejoin the race in 12th place, which was my starting position. Ended up finishing 13th because a guy passed me fair and clean out of the last turn up to start/finish.

Another "fabulous" race, I was having a great time, part of some great close and very clean battles for position, keeping an eye in my rear view for a dirty driver in a Hyundai who, started in front of me and beat and banged his way through Senna but got penalized for it. He served the penalty on lap 2 as I battled with 2 Porsches and a Lambo. Great fun! And then... Someone made a mistake, got into the inside barrier going thru Senna and careening across the track right into me and sending me into the run off. I get gathered up and back on track... right into the cross hairs of dirty Hyundai driver who was nothing but a dirty rammer. The flag over his name was different than mine... I'll leave it at that... Dude had no problem trying to push me off track up into turn 6. I was on the outside and continued being outside thru turn 7 and 8 but, the switch back that is turn 9 put me on the inside. Coming out of turn 9, I said to myself, "screw the DR/SR and screw this guy!" and just ran him off the track going into turn 10. The penalty system, for some reason, didn't give that guy any penalty for slamming into my door all the way thru turns 6 and 7. Weird! I had a few little incidents with dirty drivers that think they're the next Ayrton Senna that just bash their way thru a field of cars. I just got sick of it at a point yesterday and that Hyundai driver got my anger taken out on him. Oh well. Got a 2 second penalty for it. Whatever. I screwed his race up and I'm happy I did. I really try to be the cleanest guy on the track but I hit a point where enough was enough.

I'll race more tonight as I don't have any New Years Eve plans. Hopefully I have some good clean B races. I really enjoy racing at Interlagos! Probably my favorite track in the game. I think I'm afraid of the C race. Fuji's last sector is mind boggling to me and I haven't driven Group 2 cars very much at all in this game. I have one NSX that I did a cool livery on and it drives pretty nice but trying to get through the last sector on Fuji... UGH! The fastest qually time I set was a 1:35.??? Saw some of the top times at 1:29.xxx... Enh... I'll wait... Or just won't. We'll see how adventurous I get.

I have no interest in the A race.

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm giving race B a run this week for a while, it is one of my better tracks. I managed to pull out a second place with a CRB in my first race.

I tried the consistent mustang in qualifying with decent results 1:33.0. Then I tried the AMG and wow! I was faster the first lap. Knocked out a 1:32.1xx after 5 or so laps. I might can squeeze into the 31's but probably not by much.

So just in case I wasn't the only 1 to miss this. In Race C you have to have hard tires on the car before entering the lobby if you want to start the race on them apparently. Seems a bit BS as you are required to use them during the race, but couldn't change them in qualifying or in warm up to go from Mediums to Hards.

Edit: And Happy New Year already. It is sunny and warm here in 2020:)

I had the same experience with the AMG at Interlagos a few weeks back for a mid 1:32. Tried it today, wasn't feeling it. I've been using the Renault RS01 instead, but haven't dipped below 1:33 yet.

I'm really curious how that thing drives, I know people are really fast with it. I suck at driving MR cars, I usually end up too aggressive on turn in and force oversteer. Works good with FR cars not much with MR.

What a difference a day makes - yesterday I got caught in a pile-up at 300R with just over two laps to go, losing c.1000DR in the process, today I take a well-earned win...despite having to take to the grass on the inside of T2 to avoid two dopes tussling at T1 like they're fighting for an affordable apartment in Dublin. :o

I like the Renault. My go to GR3 car at the moment. I lacks a bit of power tho. The Renault and the Audi R8 are the only GR3 MR cars I frequently use. I've never clicked with the Porsche.

C'mon...HOW? How does this system even have an ounce of anything resembling AI? How?

So, I get hit, go off track, but it's my fault that I cut the track?

This can't be a bug. There is no way this went into the test department and they didn't flag it. This came back "as designed"

Seriously, dailies are getting to the point where there's zero enjoyment. Blatant, race ruining, contact goes undetected while slight breezes get penalized to the wrong person on a consistent basis. I have been paying attention and I have seen FAR FAR FAR more penalties for nothing that those for something deserving.

By the way, please tell me what racing series considers the curb to be "off track". Every time I have seen anyone go off track in a race, they get a warning, not a penalty. They only time I have seen black and white penalties is in qualifying.

If anything resembling this system makes it's way to GT7, I am moving to Forza.

Erm, no. It is neither sunny nor warm (as apposed to yesterday that was 40+C)! It is however smokey :odd:.
What are you talking about? I don't need 40+ weather, that is blistering, not warm. Getting to mid 20s, gentle breeze, (no smoke except for the neighbor's bonfire:crazy:.

@Voodoovaj dont worry about it, uninsulated and unheated houses make our mild winters miserable. I still miss the great winter I lived in Ottawa. Snow, skating, drinking. Good times.

Well we on "The Big Island" are living in a state that's on fire. Been waking up to the smell of smoke every morning for over a month, and most days you can't see the sun. You think it's overcast, but it's not clouds in the sky .

The TPC New Years Eve Nurb Party is now open, 1h of the Nord in a stock ‘65 Toyota Sports 800, Strong Boost, Strong Slipstream. All are welcome to join in!

Remember how I said (or at least, implied) that I wouldn't do this week's Daily Race A at Tokyo Expressway anymore this week?

I lied. :D

Qualified in 2nd, lost a position and dropped to 3rd on the 2nd lap and then managed to take 1st by the 3rd and final lap, but I kinda lost composure near the end. Somehow though I was able to keep the car under control from spinning out by throwing it deep into the apex of the 3rd from last corner while feathering the throttle. Was a good battle between the other two players in 2nd and 3rd. Who knew that my 2nd ever win (on my primary account) would be obtained on New Year's Eve?

I had pole position twice and finished 1st both times. Anywhere else in the lineup and you're playing bumper cars.

There is no way I can like this status. May you all be safe and may the fires die down on their own.

I am with @RacingGrandpa. Our news keeps showing the horror stories over there. You guys keep safe. Same as I told my cousin in the LA fires last year. Just get out if you have to.

Thanx guys :) . Luckily I'm not near any fires, but my sister has to keep watching the bulletins.. she's surrounded by bush. It's a bit like Pompeii here, ash is falling from the sky... wish it was rain .

I

Actually think that the inside of t1 is a fabulous spot to overtake, as long as you have overlap and doesn't bomb. If you are on the outside you do not automatically have a right to the Qt racing line. As long as the inside has overlap at turn-in you are the one who should yield.

Edit: radar, radar, radar. Always be aware of your surroundings.

Second edit: when looking at the replays of my bad races (so far just two of them) I can't just say the others where dirty. The accidents that I took the blunt off was more inability or too much driving on the edge for racing. The three way accident I got caught up in, making it a four car wreck festival, was a MR car sliding and two FR cars too close. When they all went sideways I had two choices: stopping mid track and getting rear ended or ducking to the inside. I did the later but it didn't pay off. No-one else to blame.

Gd Riiii about turn 1. You get the run up the straight Nd establish corner rights. At that point screw p2 haha.

Idk about you guys but he racing got worse and worse as the day went on. At first it was those annoying bump passes mid turn that turned into me getting directly punted off track. I took both a 3 sec and 4 sec penalty from getting rear ended. Once I could tell was deliberate the second was an accidental. I served my lap 1 penalty in race c then unghosted and was immediately rammed by a guy. Not sure if the game thought I was blocking or brake checking cause of the speed difference but yeah that was my night. Dropped back to SR 57 from 99. I got it back to 79 and called it quits.

I still did a good job at race C. Ran it 3 times started at the back and finished 5 and 6. Then qualified and pulled out P4. I did two stops and swapped TO med tires in the middle of the race. Started and finished on hards.
