Learned this the hard way when I switched to the R8 when it was slower than the Viper I had been using. Got literally ran over by a hornet's nest of 911s in Interlagos. Wish Q times were tied to cars.
I can imagine... And with the 911's engine note (especially in clusters) a hornet's nest isn't a bad analogy at all

After maggiore turn 4 there is a tiny jump going into the downhill and the viper absolutely hates it, spins every time

I don't recall a spot where I've constantly spun with the Viper at Maggiore. (I havent tried today, but I always run viper)
Replay?

Yeah I’ll upload a video highlighting it in a little while but got to pop out first.

@ferrari312t Do you mind if I include a clip of your replay, seems you're todays fastest (congrats), as a reference for how to take T4

Flashback to Suzuka two days ago.
Deco_Dawg was all over me but I held the line. Why would I yield unless he can actually manage to pass? At around a minute he tries to dive but I hold the line but I get no penalty, but I guess he did.

Monza GR1s - this is what 2nd accounts/IDs are for.....

What an absolute 🤬 fest..

Given up trying to be clean, just doing as much divebombing and risk taking as everyone else, feels pretty good not to worry about SR etc :D

Quick question, if not relevant:

What does the term "aliens" mean here? I've seen it in a number of posts

Kart race was carnage, I qualifed 11th as I wasn't lucky with slipstreaming to a better time and then quickly went up to P7 and stayed in the group of P1 only to being crashed off in L5 oin the chicane. From there on it was just a terrible race with unskilled drivers that didn't understand teamwork drafting and some driving errors that were my own fault
@_ApexPredator was in the same boat :indiff:

There is no set definition but here's my best one.

Anyone who can consistently do the following with just about any car and track:

- Be within 1-2 seconds of the top driver's time in the world in qualifying
- Can hit those times or close to it in race trim with regularity (or adjusted best time based on race conditions)
- Makes minimal mistakes
- Doesn't use any driver aids other than ABS

On record, I've been called one before despite my insistance that I'm only fast enough to see them. Made a meme out of it years ago that I need to find.

Lol mate I was so looking forward to that race as well :( I'll still upload it I think, plenty to talk about, but THIS:
"From there on it was just a terrible race with unskilled drivers that didn't understand teamwork drafting".

Really important to work together, and not just keep sending it up the inside whenever you're in the tow :( Save it for the straights.
I think maybe the penalties made it far worse than it otherwise would have been? Lots of good drivers in that lobby so I'm sure they know this, maybe just didn't know what to do without being able to bump draft the whole lap (which is a perfectly legit strategy!) Stupid penalties :(

Yeah I hoped that we can work together in the last few laps to at least catch the group in front of us but then that italian guy wrecked you off :(

Going with my first "full" livery, just made:

Update:

Not in M4 open, great!
I love variety racing...

Gone for ASM on ABS on, 2 traction and 2 towards rear brake.
Wish me luck, matchmaking now ;)
Edit: turned off ASM and qualified 3rd but turned it on for the race and only came 11th.

So I just rage quit. I’m side by side with another guy on a straight and I’m on the outside, he’s on the centre only the track. He wants my line so he nudges me off the track, really naughty. 2 second penalty. That’s cool, I come back on the track and I’m 5th, not in anyone’s way because maggiore is really wide and I’m well off the racing line. Get slammed AGAIN, another penalty! Last place and a good 10 seconds behind, no point trying to catch up because I’m raging and I’ll not be able to concentrate.

Can’t save replay cos I quit so hit the share button and it saves a 3 second clip of the menu. Eurgh.

I'm doing terrible on Magiorre today. Consequences of just going through the motions to distract my mind from other problems. 10K DR down so far. The dirty races didn't help, getting dive bombed in practically every race and spun out by a car against my rear bumper a couple times to end last. I'm still racing clean anyway, always blue, only occasional penalties from me messing up a corner and getting a detour penalty.

With my crappy qualifying time I get to watch the back end of the races, the things going on there at A/S.... I've hit that report button plenty times today. At A/S people really should know better. Sine the penalties have been relaxed, it seems most people can't be bothered with passing clean anymore. Finish boards still suffer the red dot plague. And I haven't even tried Monza yet today!
