Did 4 Race Cs last night (in Asia), 3 of 4 went well and the first one was pretty much my own fault. Missed the first brake point and got soaked up by the crowd. Thanks for people keep making mistakes and the long race distance, finally worked my way back to top. Got my SR back to S at Monza, what a night!

Today I tried the One Make race with the Honda Civic. And boy, oh boy. That car is a handful one to drive on Sport tyres.

And I’m happy to say that even starting always on the first two rows, I never had a first turn incident. Actually not in any moment. True, I spun in that spot but it was me and me alone.

I’m also sad at the same time. Even hitting a quali time less than 1 sec slower than the last guy on top ten at that moment, I wasn’t able to hit Pole Position.

The matchmaking still works in mysterious ways I can’t understand. Lolo In that second account of mine, I was “middle” D and A.

It was a good time thou.

Well, in my first Monza race today I started 10 but capitalizing on other peoples mistakes I quickly gained position to 5th (basically all thanks to first chicane)
However, I late make a mistake and at the end of the race I'm 13th.

SO HERE IS A QUESTION: Do the tires drop off at the end of the race or is the wear linear ? After half the race I needed to fill up, but the tires were almost not worn. Just a sliver of red.

Should I have taken a chance, and only filled gas ? (Driving the Porsche Hybrid)

BMW M6, TC 2 BB +4:cheers:

Just ignore me if this is something I should already know but what goes in to the decision to increase or decrease Break Balance

Up until now I've mostly just used other people's setups but I'm trying to learn for myself how to set up a car and how to feel the differences

I’m no expert mate but I tend to test it in qualifying, a few laps at zero, a few at minus 3/4 and then a few at +3/4 then tweak it slightly up or down. It’s only minor in most cases but I find BB adjustments make braking and turning in sharper. As a general rule rear wheel drive and high powered cars tend to benefit from positive BB and front wheel drive/lower power cars respond to minus BB. I’ll always be at +3-5 BB in GT3 cars.

But as I say I’m no expert and I’m sure someone here has a better rationale but it works for me, a bit of trial and error

I should point out I use a controller

I just assumed that the tire wear acts like that because the car is heavier at the start of the race (full fuel load). Adding that up to the multiplier of tire wear and Race and those are the results

Lago Maggiore is always good fun!

An amazing 4 lap race with p1 and p3.... I still don’t know where p1 got the penalty that allow me to get his position in the end... but apart from 1st lap I had always the fastest lap but never under 1:56....

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain that to me

I find cars that oversteer a lot need a negative break balance. If the car has a lot of understeer I do a positive break balance. Usually +5 on something like the Audi gr3. If you have a positive break balance the car will oversteer more into the turn.

Thanks for sharing. You are so consistent and your race pace so good.👍
Just wonder what happen to the M6 at the last few concerns? Serving for penalty?

My experience thus far is that the tyre wear indicator is not terribly reliable. With some cars it can barely be a bit of red and it starts to squirm. With other cars you can be half red and still find grip. I tend to go by how the car seems to drive compared to previous laps. Another indicator is to look at the recommended gear. As the tyres wear you'll find the recommended gear drops on certain corners compared to earlier laps. I also find that I get the best grip a few laps in rather than right at the beginning.

Yes, serving penalty. I just don’t know where he got it...

Good Lord! Your speed and line trough the turn before the down hill is poetry !

Do you have any adjustments on your brake balance on you 911 for this race ?

downforce has a lot to do with grip

Thank you,
On this car and in this track I use -2 BB (also on Dragon Trail, some other tracks I use -3) and I’m constantly changing TC from 0 to 2 depending on the turns.

Thank you Curb

I'm learning on the fly. Couldn't do it without this place

Kryptonite, thy name is Lago Maggiore.

There's just something about the track that made it difficult to find any semblance of consistency. I barely managed a 55 in the 911 and was stuck in 56 land with most of the other cars. My racing effort was bad enough that my DR barely moved, so I downloaded several replays for review. Time to study!

Had a good race with clean opponents, as it could just as easily ended for me going into T3 at Lago Maggiore, but he tapped the brakes instead of my bumper :) I was shocked that my time was good enough for P2 on the grid to start with, and already prepared for disappointment as I usually screw up in these situations  But I guess the huge amount of laps I’ve done on the track over the past months have paid off and I managed to grab my 2nd sport mode victory

I find GT Daily's to be near unbearable. Love racing games but pvp sucks. It's not because drivers drive badly either, it's because the races are knuckleheaded. If I wanted to be bored like NASCAR, I'd watch NASCAR

Since the last 2 updates and getting past mid B DR the racing has been great! I had some awesome races tonight on Suzuka east in the Civic that were reminiscent of the clean competitive shuffle racing days with a few achievements along the way. I hit 100 races, 1 win and made it into another top ten for the day!!

I figured I better not push a good thing and stopped after my win since I said "oh 1 more" last time after a night of great races and a hard fought clean win to then get put into a cluster of a demolition derby race and finish angry.

It's not the demo derbies it's the pointlessness of trying to move up. No excitement at all you might as well do a time trial
