I'm not sure how un-broken the penalties are, but at least SR Down is working properly again. I just had a race at Nurburgring, and the person behind me was gaining on the last lap. But then we got to the chicane, and they tried to go two-wide on the outside, which needless to say didn't work out for them, so they got pissed and rammed me off going into the final turn. I lost like four positions, but they finished with a nine second penalty, and their SR had dropped to an A. So that's something.

Daily C.

I'm over a second off pole. I shifted too early going up the hill and may have clipped the limiter at the top of 2nd on the way down. Probably could have carried more through the last right-hander, so there's maybe a tenth left on the table. I don't have a clue how a sub 1:42 is possible. Nothing but respect.

Last time I tried Race C this week my wheel gave up on me. Well it seems to behave for now, so I gave Race C another shot:

From last to first; was only a 13 car grid, but two players who got binned early in the race ended up leaving. 1st and 2nd place were duking it out pretty intensely for the last three laps. Then, on the final turn of the final lap, they were side-by-side until they ultimately walled each other off-course. They got back on course but by the time I exited the final turn, it was too late for them. Then one of them gets a penalty to top it off. At least this gives me a nice little sliver of meter to stay at DR B.

Great lap.

I really struggle with this track - always have done! Best I can manage is 1:45.4, and that put me 18th on the grid with two non-qualifiers behind me (all B/S room, and I had #1 on my door ).

Started OK, up to 10th place after the first two corners, then got spun out by someone going up the hill. Finished 17th of the 18 finishers, two red SRs further up the field - first I've seen in a long time.....

Well I did some laps on Nurburgring GP and tried a few diff cars. I think my times could be much better with the Supra and RCZ I was down to 1:58.5-6. I swapped to the AMG and after about 10 laps put in a 1:57.4xx with an optimal of 1:57.1 so there is clearly more time there.

Jumped into Laguna Seca and ran about 10 laps mostly in the sand lol. I did manage a 1:45.3 on a cleanish one. still found sand before the corkscrew going uphill. I could probably drop down to mid 1:44's

Normal service resumed.

One dickbag, swerving and brake-checking another driver (and, shortly after, me between turns 3 and 4), gave me 1s penalty when divebombing me (all cars stayed on track) followed by six more when he swerved under braking and took us both out.

Comfortable 3rd/4th and 5s clear halfway through the race, ends 8th and 11th because asshoe. And I get a red S.

Did a race at Tsukuba and one at Laguna, no red letters anywhere. :dunce:

The S2k has a couple places around Laguna where you *just* run out of revs in 3rd but it's not worth a shift to fourth, frustrating.

Race A and B have caused me to loose 3000 points in one day. I have been punted and accosted but also made my own mistakes. I think I have to do much better time on Nurburg so I cans tart further up.
Both races are really enjoyable, but race A is a challenge with the standing start. I tend to loos 2-3 pos because of that. Once the race is in full swing its great fun until someone gets aggressive and push you out.
At the Ring, I actually saw someone get a 2S penalty ! for pushing me off in turn 2...
Then when I came down the hill at the (T8?) hairpin, someone else rammed me and I went off again. That person did not get a penalty ...

I'll probably be racing tonight anyway :-)

Hurt in a racing accident? Call now. :P

Hmm. For some reason I ended up in a D/S lobby with five B/S drivers and a Russian A+ two seconds faster than anyone else (or rather me, as I was second). Beat him off (steady) the lights, and it took him four laps to get past the people who nudged him out of the way in T1, then he spent three laps trying to get past me, then successfully managed it up Rahal Straight, then binned it on Rahal Straight on lap 9. So I won.

Spent a few laps chasing TCR_Duva's ghost around Laguna during a conference call and got my qualifying time down over a second to 1:43.675... I can match the pace all the way to Turn 6, but then they hardly slow down at all and turn in suuuuuuper late and I'm just like :confused::confused:.

I have officially sworn off daily races. What does it take for a driver to pass you clean? Everytime a driver tried to pass, its as if my inside door is like a bowling lane buffer for them. Any thought or attempt to retaliate just gets met with even worse on track etiquette, so it's just not worth it. I'll stick with league racing with people I can count on having good clean racing rather than the garbage showing up in daily's.

Monday morning I showed myself up at Laguna Seca ready to race. Just to get the feel of the track and car I started without a QT. After two races, it was obvious I was not fool enough to get my car somewhere near the front! L1T1 is crazy.

The morning went pretty well, most of the bumping was due to people not familliar with the combo. On the afternoon, it was another story. It was an ugly 🤬 show. It's no small mistake now, it's full blown bumping, barge passing side sweeping name it.:yuck: I finished DFL a couple of time. For the first time in more than 2 years I was fed up, I went to PStore to look for a discount on WRC8 but there was none.

Close the PS4 after losing 4 500 DR.

Guess what, next morning I showed myself up again.:nervous: To my surprise, racing was good and I could race all day with decent people interested in good clean races.

3 600 DR gain

Nice to see penalties return again, although the system itself is still a bit flawed, but I'll take that over no penalty system at all.

Having done a few race B's last night, the only penalties I received were for exceeding track limits and being hit by someone re-entering the track at the exit of turn 10. And when I say hit, I mean is front end into the side of my car, as he came onto the track perpendicularly giving me a 2 second penalty before he quit the race.

In another situation, I believe I should have received a penalty and didn't. One of those circumstances where the car in front brakes harder than you expected and you rear end them, but due to lag and other factors the slight nudge that you give them sends them to the shadow realm, except this time the shadow realm was the car in front, and the car I hit received the force of two impacts and spun out. Somehow, despite being the sole cause of this accident, I received no penalty.

So yeah, having the penalty system back is great, but it is still by no means close to a perfect system.
