One race A and I've lost over 2000 DR , I'm sure I did nothing wrong but was punted off and got penalty for that.
Even took a hit on my SR .

So, Nascar driver Kyle Larson just got himself suspended for saying bad things during yesterday's iRacing event.
It's a good thing that Sport Mode races don't have voice chat (unless you join a party with a friend). It would be so toxic!
I've said things out loud, while racing that would probably get me banned.

I was thinking that earlier.
Imagine...

That's why Famine needs to write an anatomy thesaurus. eg "Hey dick bag get your anus bucket off the road". ;)

There are a ton of "professional" drivers banned from iRacing for treating it like Forza Motorsport, sadly.

As for the dailies, driving at Nurb is great but racing other people is awful; however the Miata Touring is always great to drive and Monza is fun if you dodge Thunderdome at T1... did some quali for these during my lunch break and recorded 2:01.5 for the Miat and 1:47.9 in the GT-R at Monza... good enough for the first page of KudosPrime in NA for now. Races after work...

I’ve probably said things that would get me in jail by the thought/speech police while racing, however, NASCAR Heat and PCars both have chat in their games and really don’t hear bad things in the lobbies other than a few swear words when contact is made.
To me I wish GTS had it that way we could know if a punt/contact was intentional or accidental.

In other news my lucky rabbit foot is working.

It's such a great car for that track! Congratulations on using it so well!

Thinking I am going to have to have a go at race B instead of C tonight. I remember having fun babying that death rocket around the nord last time it was up. Maybe take some time away from C. At least until I get up some better QT and speed. Seemed the top 4 or 5 escaped most carnage at the start in my races.

Did the nice thing to give a guy a spot back when he broke super early for parabolica and I was already inside to avoid slipstream braking so i had to lock it down as well. Made a slight touch, but both stayed on track at speed so I slowed down and stayed hard right to let him get well ahead, nope, he rams me. Then as he is still behind he punts me at turn 1. Some people got no style.

Love the Green Hell that is the Nord. Unfortunately some are treating it like need for speed. I've identified a few who are taking the mickey but thats fine, I was quite good at most wanted, nailed one guy who ruined several people's race's at the final corner, ha.
I'm still in upper DR B so not really expecting any wins at this level, unless there's a catastrophe up ahead. 7.50 ish qual is putting me mid pack. Could probably get that down to .45 ish, but that is just going to put me up against even higher ranked drivers. Wish I was DR D again

Is thr GTR good on tyres/fuel? Or is it another case of "quali car=/= race car"?
Fuel is not an issue for any car in Race C.

As for the GTR, never used it before and sure enough my optimal is best with it compared to about 10 other cars I tried this morning. Viable other cars to consider: AMG, Ford GT, Viper, and Mustang.

I run BB at -4 on the GTR (-4 to -2 in the actual race) which is something I've never done before but it allows for really SOLID, consistent braking at Monza. In the race, the Ford and Viper were too squirrely for me so I opted to go with what has been working, and so far, my last two races got me P2 at the finish. Gained close to 3k DR so far and aim to keep it going.

Regarding tire wear, I've been doing 6 RM then 4 RH. Could likely comfortably get 7 laps on RM.

Not exactly "daily race related" but I'll ask away... I finally caved and created an alt account 11 game days ago. I've had 142 sport mode races and over 3,000 miles logged yet the username still isn't showing up in Kudosprime. Any ideas why?

I don't think fuel is an issue this race - a car easy on tyres would be interesting though.
Yup, 1st try and it seems very easy on fuel. Porsche is good on tyres IIRC but lacks the straight line speed in what is basically a GTR one-make

Was afraid from front tyre wear so I ran BB0, but I'll try going from -4 to -2. Got screwed over last race after qualifying 4th. P3 goes very deep through T1, I take a normal line, he then literally pushes me off at T2. 0 effort into turning left. Dropped to P19, managed to salvage a P9 from this disaster. He got away with no penalty.
Ran 6M 4H, but I should've been more aggressive with the Mediums, set my FL on the Hards. Shall try again now, since my I lost a lot of SR because of Race A woes.
Only raced the Stang and I could get the Meds to last 9 laps with BB +1 then switched to the Hards for 1 lap.
Is it quicker to leave the hards for only the fianl lap?

I was surprised at that until I found it was NASCAR and then it didn't surprise me

I got a time of 2:00.9xx for Race A, so that’s a start. It seems to put me in the top 200 for my region, even if it’s just barely. So I’ll see if I can do any better.

On that note, what do you think of what the brake balance should be? It seems like that hairpin is the only area where you may want more front bias, but most of the turns seem like they’d be best with a rearward bias. Even the chicane near the end doesn’t seem like it’d need much front bias, as you’d only be gathering speed for so long after the right-hand turn just before it.

I’m thinking of a brake balance of 2 towards the rear. Any thoughts?

EDIT: What do you think of using the SLS-AMG for Race C?

I run it on BB +1, was decent for getting me a 1:59.056. If you aren't doing it, try and rev the daylight out of the gears, especially 3rd through the first 2 corners before shifting into 4th

Had my 2nd altercation in a row with the same guy in Race C. Same incident, forgets his car can turn left through T2, we both drop to the back. Does the same on Lap 2 as well, no major issues. Lap 3, he goes wide on Ascari and rejoins literally on the apex of the 2nd corner of Ascari, right in front of me. Luckily I didn't get a penalty for that one. He ended up dropping to last after Q8 (Door 8) while I made it to P13 after Q9 (Door 14). Not usually one for naming and shaming but I'll drop his name so you guys can be careful around GER_Westkingsize

(Side note: I ran into Momoz91 once, and he was a much cleaner/nicer driver than this guy, at least from my experience)

EDIT 2: got matched with him again. Wish me luck guys lol

EDIT 3: was a good race. Aside from those 2 T1 incidents he was very clean. Q8, him Q7. Relatively well behaved. Ascari on L1, someone decides to replicate Vettel's 2019 rejoin. Same result, dropped back to P19. Started on hards so did thr undercut at L4. Managed to get up to P5 by the end of the race... if you can pull it off, starting on hards is the better call IMO

Last race didn't go so well. Really wish people could treat racing like a chess game and you have to be aware of what's going on in front by a few moves, seconds at the least. Four or fives cars within less than 1s apart total need awareness going into a chicane. You have to slow up and not just go, "Oh, there's my cone." and go biltzkrieg autopilot. Either way, still good fun!

EDIT - both Mercs are good choices.

Just bagged a win on my way back, seven drivers including the leader, failed to use both compounds. Was 2nd on track but 1st ended up 7th. Think there were only 3 of us at the end with blue SR up all the rest red, well apart from the 5 or so DNFs that is. Back up to SR B and nearly out of the DR C gang, those guys are sure good at punting, took my until after the pit stops to break away from them. The leader was miles ahead but I think he just did 2 stints on medium, I guess reading the tire requirements is beyond most of them hehe.
Just need another 10000 DR to get back to where I started the day.

That may not be the best thing to say, either.

The sport hasn't exactly got the best reputation outside the US, we just laugh at NASCAR in the UK for a large part, just need to turn right to make it better :lol:

Edit: the cars aren't exactly very advanced either, pretty sure they still use carburettors or at least did until recently

You should see the liveries I just did to my Ford fleet. Mustangs already look good, but the GTs now look like a matching set.

I know my 3rd account didn't show on KP until I had at least 5 days logged into the game. Make sure that you are spelling it correctly.
